Along with gillybob, glamma and, I think, MissAdventure (?) I'm waiting for a call to say that my daughter has gone into labour. Anyone else got a baby due imminently?
Whilst typing this I just got a text from my foster son to say his 3 months pregnant wife has started bleeding. Oh no!

Anniebach Mon 23-Apr-18 17:19:35

Oh grannyactivist, hope the baby can be saved

ninathenana Mon 23-Apr-18 17:19:44

Whilst that is of course worrying ga it's not always bad news. I bled for 3-4 days at 13 wks and went on to have a healthy full term baby. I sincerely hope this will be the case.
Best of luck to your DD and all others about to give nirth.

My son and his wife know they are going to be parents to a baby girl when she arrives but my DGS and his wife decided they did not want to know this time around so we will have a nice surprise, they already have a pink one and she wants a baby sister.
GA My DD bledd at 12& 14 weeks and she went on to full term with baby no 3 who was a healthy baby boy weighing nearly 9lb.I hope things go well I'm sure they will.

I bled with all my pregnancies ga. Always around 13 weeks and put down to having a retroclined womb!!! confused

Keep us posted all you grans in waiting!

Luckygirl Mon 23-Apr-18 18:20:12

Good luck to all - who needs new princes when there are new GC on the horizon?!

ga - I hope that all goes well for your foster son and family - I too have experience of this and I was lucky enough to go on to a full term pregnancy - so let us hope that this is so in this case.

Cousin's DD gave birth to a son this morning, just beating Kate by an hour and a half. Frederick Edward is his name and his Mum was only in hospital an hour when he was born.

grannyactivist Mon 23-Apr-18 18:30:44

I always hoped that one of my grandsons would be an Edward, I really like the name, but my son took first dibs on the name and he and his wife have yet to produce - I'm half expecting that when they do it'll be a girl anyway.

My foster son's wife has lots of health problems and had difficulty getting pregnant, but lots of pray-ers are on the case and we're trying to remain hopeful. My daughter bled on and off through her pregnancy and some of you will remember my granddaughter arrived at just 26 weeks, but is now a healthy, if extremely tiny, three year old.

I just heard the news that the scan has shown the baby has died - there was no heartbeat or movement. Instead of flowers I sent a little white rose that can be planted in remembrance. My unborn babies were barely acknowledged, so I'm very glad we live in more enlightened times now. Feeling very sad for them. sad

Ohgrannyactivist I am so very sorry, I hope the mother is safe and well, look after yourself as well.

Anniebach Fri 27-Apr-18 17:44:26

I am so very sorry , your white rose is a beautiful thought x

Luckygirl Fri 27-Apr-18 18:04:48

That is so sad ga - it happened several times to my second DD, and she too had trouble conceiving; but she now has two lovely boys and I hope that there will be an equally happy outcome for your foster son's wife in the fullness of time.

ninathenana Fri 27-Apr-18 18:13:00

flowers for you and the family ga

jusnoneed Fri 27-Apr-18 18:23:23

Sorry to hear your sad news ga, the white rose is a lovely idea.

Deedaa Fri 27-Apr-18 21:09:21

Oh dear, that's very sad ga I love the white rose! I hope they will be able to go on and have a family in the future.

Iam64 Fri 27-Apr-18 21:13:01

Thank you, all. My foster son always took great interest in my Gransnet 'life' when he lived with me, so I shall pass on your general condolences.

I am so sorry for this loss, every wee life leaves a mark however long we carry it.Glad they will have somewhere to remember ,my early losses weren't treated well back in the day .Its good they will have much more support

NanaMacGeek Sat 28-Apr-18 18:57:49

I'm also sorry for this loss.

DIL had a silent miscarriage last year, evident at the 12 weeks scan. We were sad for them and they grieved. Today they have had it confirmed that DIL is 12 weeks and everything looks good. They won't forget their experience but are looking forward.

ga, I hope your DD's labour goes well. That's what families are about isn't it - laughter and sadness!

Waveney Sat 28-Apr-18 19:21:20

My youngest daughter has miscarried three times in the last two years, once when on a visit to me, but we are now three weeks before the due date of her little boy. I am very excited!

kittylester Sun 29-Apr-18 07:32:54

I've just found this thread ga. I'm so sorry to hear this. I love the white rose too.

DD3 had several miscarriages before she had her 2 and is now expecting no 3.

gillybob Sun 29-Apr-18 07:55:53

My DD was admitted to hospital on Thursday with very high BP ( due date first week in May) she was taken to delivery suite yesterday and induced . I was with her until late last night and whilst she is now definitely in labour it is very slow and not progressing as it should . Doctor coming late morning to see how they can hurry things up . She’s exhausted this morning.
