Government resignations since autumn:
1 November 2017 - Fallon
8 November 2017 - Patel
20 December 2017 - Green
29 April 2018 - Rudd
8 January 2018 - Greening
8 July 2018 - Davis
There have been six resignations in 249 days. That’s one every six weeks

Just woken up to the news that the incompetent David Davis has resigned. Just as Brexit was all going so well? The useless Grayling should be next - how come he is still in post? Not to mention the awful foreign secretary. Interesting to watch develpments as the day wears on. The bookies and removal men will be busy.

I have always said it she is not strong enough she have done article 50 straight away the G s, don't respect dilly dallying
do your research in depth on the EU then you will see why we must take back control but are any of the politicians strong and good enough and experienced enough ??
research the EU

Suddenly having to take over Brexit would I think be Labourers worse nightmare!! Which could explain the deafening silence coming from the opposition benches!!!

Lets hope JH can cope as FS and he makes a better job of it than his NHS.

God help us all if that absolute weasel Gove becomes PM

I don’t think even his own party like him, he has all the loyalty of a scorpion

Maybe you could also list the Labour anti Corbyn resignations as well, crystaltipps, in fairness of balance opinion of course!! One poll today shows a swing of 15% more in favour of Brexit but you wouldn't want to mention that I suppose. Politicians on all sides are letting us down because they are cowards.
The truth is the EU don't want a deal of any description because all they want the UK for is the money and they are terrified of other countries leaving so we should have shown the courage to have just walked away in the beginning and let the individual EU states put pressure on the EU for a good trade deal. Theresa was not the one to do this.

Absolutely. Dead Ringers accurately foretold this. Maybe he wasistening and got the idea from them. Is this the end for Bulldog Brexit?

Pebbles77 Tue 10-Jul-18 12:52:12

Boris Johnson is a Bafoon
He’s done the pm a favour imho
Let’s hope Gove goes next .. they are just a bunch of incompetent numpties ....
Theresa has more guts than any of them and she’s not been perfect

Corbyn wants out so is hiding in the shadows

Grandad1943 - of course Labour are very quiet through all these goings on - that's because we (and I am a Labour Party member) have no strategy either! The country is in a shambles with the entire Brexit phenomenon - nobody listened at the start to the voice of business, nobody gave a thought to the London vote because let's face it, the vast majority of people don't live in the capital which is the engine for the rest of the country. As a northerner who moved to London 12 years ago, I now have a completely different perspective from that I had when I was in a relatively idyllic city with little pollution and streets that weren't over-populated with busy workers keeping the country going. It was a stupid decision to go ahead in the first place despite the slender majority, and every single issue has fallen by the wayside because the philosophy was fundamentally flawed. I just hope that we have some Labour MPs who can step up to the mark - but am not brimming over with confidence. The truth is that both the Tory and Labour party are divided on the issue.

I saw Dominic Grieve on QT and would like to see him with a cabinet post or as TM's replacement.

nigglynellie Tue 10-Jul-18 11:29:14

Maybe Vince, but isn't he a bit old?!!

nigglynellie Tue 10-Jul-18 11:28:22

Davidson? I wish!!! (sigh!

varian Tue 10-Jul-18 11:26:05

Vince Cable?

MawBroon Tue 10-Jul-18 11:23:38

Ye gods, if it comes to a choice between Boris or Jacob Rees Mogg and Corbin with Momentum I might become an economic migrant myself. Any room for me in Sweden?
Surely with those extremes the field is wide open for the likes of Umunna, Cooper , Creasy or even Davidson (once she has had her baby and become a Westminster MP)

Jalima1108 Tue 10-Jul-18 10:46:34

Pity she didn't seek a cross-party approach from the outset and we might have been in a far better position today.
She wouldn't listen when I advised her to do just that in the first place.

Ginny42 Tue 10-Jul-18 10:43:18

Oh! What happened to the debate about DD's resignation?

Anyway, I see in the news that Boris says it's him or Corbyn. What a duplicitous person he is. Will he really get the backing of so many Tories?

It seems that members of the opposition were called to Downing Street yesterday for a briefing asking Labour MPs to rescue the government. Pity she didn't seek a cross-party approach from the outset and we might have been in a far better position today.

Jalima1108 Tue 10-Jul-18 10:36:46

And - just to point out, getting back to the OP - Davis is the English spelling of the surname and Davies is the Welsh spelling.
wink

gillybob Tue 10-Jul-18 10:36:26

Whatever .

gillybob Tue 10-Jul-18 10:35:48

Can you not see how the topic has collided though ? We are 4 countries who are all supposed to be part of the British Isles ( or not ) . I fail to see why we can’t get along but I suppose the football proves it .

Jalima1108 Tue 10-Jul-18 10:35:48

I think Annie meant 'British' as opposed to 'English' ie as in GB representing the country in the Olympics.

gillybob Tue 10-Jul-18 10:33:25

United Kingdom? Don’t make me laugh niggly . And who’s sneering at Annie ? Quite the other way around as far as I’m concerned using the offensive term “ little Englander “ to me for daring to show a tiny bit of patriotism for my country .

Annie pointed out there is no “British Isles” team in the World Cup . Which I find quite confusing confused as I was sure England were still in .

PECS Tue 10-Jul-18 10:32:35

The reason a parliamentary vote was not on the cards was because the bulldogs knew most MPs would vote Remain and it would make theTories look stupid for setting up the referendum. ?

Anniebach Tue 10-Jul-18 10:32:20

You are right niggly, there are important matters to discuss not men kicking a ball around ?

nigglynellie Tue 10-Jul-18 10:24:14

annie ignore them, they're just not worth reacting to! FGS were supposed to be the United kingdom and cheap jibes at each other's countries would be pathetic in kindergarten. I thought the left disapproved of jingoism and it is only something vile Tory's indulge in?! Clearly I was wrong!! I would have thought the Sport thread would be more appropriate for football comments, or is it all an excuse to have yet another sneer at annie?

gillybob Tue 10-Jul-18 10:16:14

I’ve read enough thank you Annie .
