Like him or loathe him, Nigel Farage has played an important role in the history of the UK.
It's a shame Ukip became tarnished by the presence of bigots and racists. Farage was never one, to my mind, but he did stir up patriotism in the UK - enough for us to want to wave goodbye to the power of Brussels and the misuse of billions of taxpayers money every year.
Many articulate, intelligent, well-balanced people do not see Farage in the way Remainers do. But to some liberals it's not good to support anyone who thinks a limit on immigration is an idea worth considering.
However, look at how both Labour and Conservative parties made immigration a part of their political agenda after the rise of UKP and the public making their voices heard.
That cannot be denied. It was an issue which needed airing.
All of a sudden immigration and the EU was being talked about, and as I have always maintained, discussion and free speech is much healthier than the repressive politically correct agenda we have been forced to swallow.
Mainstream parties got on board and made it an issue too, by popular demand. It was the first time in a long time that people power and democracy had a voice and an impact.
Free speech is being outlawed by those who do not like those with an agenda or opinion different from theirs. As was mentioned earlier, it's very convenient to drown out opinion by invoking "Islamophobia" "bigotry" and "racism", when very ordinary, good-hearted and tolerant people have genuine concerns - not hatred, but concerns.
As POGSmentioned above, look at the way in which these who wanted out of the EU are being portrayed by Remainers.
It's both frightening and sinister at the same time and the sooner most ordinary people become aware of the sly way in which liberals are trying to stifle free speech, the better.
Farage allowed people to have a say and only a small proportion of them were racists and bigots. Those loathesome people crawled out of the wood-work and were also given a voice. unfortunately but they only speak for their kind, are easily identified and are not like the fair minded people people who believe the EU is bad for the UK.
Remainers have used Farage as a punch bag ever since. See the puerile photo above.
