Exit from Brexit

The triggering of Article 50 starts an automatic exit process. EU law is silent on the revoking of Article 50 therefore the EU stance is that the UK is leaving.
UK cannot now unilaterally decide that it has made a mistake and revoke article 50.
As there is no precedent for this it would be probable that the remaining 27 would have to amend statute and then vote on this so no matter how many more referendums are called for, it would basically be up to the 27 other EU states to determine whether U.K. stays in the EU or not.

I don't think that's what the British lawyer who wrote A50 says. It can be revoked or extended with the consent of the EU27 is my understanding.

He retweeted rubbish from the Sun. "Perhaps the most shocking aspect of all is the disgraceful mathematical illiteracy of the whole thing. Take the butter as an example. If the butter costs £1 originally but has a 50% tariff applied on it, then the price rises to £1.50, not to £2. If the price is £2 after the imposition of a 50% tariff, then the original price was £1.33, not £1.

The same goes for all of the other calculations too. Every single one of them have been made by someone so innumerate they'd fail Year 6 maths. If the Brexiteers are so innumerate that they can't even cope with simple mathematical operations that my 9 year old son can understand, then who on earth would trust their judgement on an issue as complex as Brexit?

When it comes to Rees-Mogg actually sharing this nonsense, once again we're drawn back into the age old debate of whether the Tories have resorted to this lamentable propaganda because they're thick enough to believe it themselves, or because despite knowing that it's absolute reality-reversing and innumerate trash, they're such arrogant elitists they see the general public as such a bunch of gullible halfwits that we'll simply believe it without conducting any critical analysis whatever.

There is a case to be made that because Ress-Mogg is this type of arrogant elitist because he once described people who attended state schools as "potted plants". If he's arrogant enough to dismiss 93% of the UK population as "potted plants" he's easily arrogant enough to deliberately spread such brazen misinformation. But in this case I think it's sheer stupidity. The man has seen something that triggers his confirmation bias, and instead of subjecting it to even the most rudimentary of critical analysis, he's just tweeted it out to his followers."

You and I may well have a say in the matter if we are permitted to make an informed choice when the "deal", if there is one, is known.

It will pile pressure on Jeremy Corbyn to switch Labour’s official policy in favour of a further referendum, ahead of an expected showdown at the party’s annual conference this month. Up to 200 local Labour branches will attempt to make a further Brexit referendum official party policy at the conference in Liverpool, starting on 23 September.

We very often we speak on GN of Brexit in terms if its overall effect on the UK. However, today I was speaking to one of our companies customers who stated just what all the uncertainty really means for so many businesses in Britain.

His business is concerned with supplying and installing all the traffic cones, road studs, white lining and signage when major roadworks are to take place on Britains motorways and trunk roads. In the last few years they have put a huge effort into gaining the above type work in the Irish Republic. A considerable amount of the equipment and supplies for the above come from a Belgian manufacturer as there are few manufacturers of such specialised equipment in the UK.

However, the Belgian supplier has stated that he cannot quote accurately to supply British customers beyond next March as that company cannot know what any tariffs may be on goods entering Britain following Brexit. The road haulage charges would also be unknown should there be delays at the channel ports.

Of course, all British companies who deal with organisations in the EU are now beginning to face the above problems due to the ongoing uncertainties of Brexit. However, our customer is stating that he expects all his Irish Republic work that they have built up will be lost to his competitors based in the republic as they will not have the problems of tariffs and transport being they will still be in the EU.

Is the above one of the problems that David Davis stated that “Britain will have to work its way through for the Brexit gains”. I am sure that will be great consolation to our customer in his problems.

Grandad. A pretty accurate description of what uncertainty means to a business, you just don't know what the rules are going to be next year.
I would have expected that exchange rate would have been added to the factors involved, lower sterling will undoubtedly mitigate any tariffs, quite a few businesses will benefit from lower sterling, regrettably consumers won't.

JRM certainty is not a gullible innumerate fool, he is a highly intelligent manipulator, an elitist who thinks most of the population are peasants, cattle to exploited and slaughtered. Definitely not PM material or even ministerial.
His only interest is creating volatility so that he can make money on the finance market.

I can understand why some women would find that wealth and power attractive but sorry girls you are way out of your depth.
