This is not about anyone's religion. There is nothing in the Christian faith directing an MP to attack human rights, quite the reverse.
National treasures. Who would you choose?
I don't think it was fair to target his children but they don't really seem like ordinary folk do they?
This is not about anyone's religion. There is nothing in the Christian faith directing an MP to attack human rights, quite the reverse.
He said the fund has to run in accordance with the requirements of the investors not my religous faith .
varian blows your claims he wants to ban abortions doesn’t it
Anti-abortion MP Jacob Rees-Mogg admits profiting from sale of abortion pills

A man who acts with integrity?????
I believe that decision either way should be left for the victim to decide, no one else should have a right to say what is or is not the correct decision.
batty, his faith is life begins at conception , so realy you are saying funny old faith that believes there Is life and supports saving that life. It is so difficult
funny old faith that wont allow a victim of rape a termination.

" JRM then promptly moves the base of his investment fund business and that of his clients to Ireland a country that will continue to remain in the European Union."
The SCM Base/HQ/Head Office is still in England.
I think it is to a degree the rhetoric that implies ' the Base/ HQ/Head Office and All Clients ' have moved lock stock and barrel from England to Ireland that is a ' smoking mirror ' to beat Rees Mogg over the head with .
A second investment fund in Ireland, as required by investors ("client demand")? Well, golly! How shocking.
You do know, I suppose, that JRM is not personally involved in arranging these things while he's an MP? Oh look, it says as much in the article.
Your point, grandad?
The Independant was involved with the arrangements for the march last Saturday . I think we can safely say they are biased against leavers.
JRM not using Dublin as base for his investment funds. I believe the following link will dispell that as he has now setup a second investment fund in that country.
Nothing to do with Brexit of course.
Link follows below:-

I don't have any feelings about JRM one way or the other. But I'll say this for him: he's never been afraid to pin his colours to the mast and he has never deviated from his beliefs for anyone. This is unlike several other MPs (cross parties) who vacillate between various political ideologies, depending on how many votes they think it will earn them. JRM has been true to himself and his beliefs. No one could accuse him of being vapid.
Again I agree with you Baggs,
I think JRM is a man of faith both in the religious sense and in the political sense. In both respects I think he acts with integrity.
Whether one agrees with his faith, religious or political, is a separate issue. And one can disagree with all of it or some of it without the man losing integrity.
In short, I think he is honest.
True Baggs
JRM then promptly moves the base of his investment fund business and that of his clients to Ireland a country that will continue to remain in the European Union.
This is not true, grandad. The only 'bases' (offices) the investment company has are in London and Singapore. The company runs an investment fund in the Irish Republic. It runs investment funds all over the world, at the behest of its investors. None of JRM's money is in the Irish fund.
How do I know this? Because I happened to catch the radio show on which JRM was accused of what you have accused him and on which he explained what was actually the case. The accuser had no actual evidence to back up his ridiculous claim.
Varian You do seem to be obsessed by JRM above all others, is it because he is wealthy? A Conservative? a Roman Catholic? He is only a backbencher for goodness sake.
Oh dear, someone doesn’t understand Christian faith, equals a Christian faith with faith in the stock market, or even I suppose faith in unions always supporting the most vulnerable, as they did following 21st October 1966 .
JRM, man of faith. In that, he has stated that the British people should have the same faith as himself in believing this nation will have a wonderful secure future outside of the European Union.
JRM then promptly moves the base of his investment fund business and that of his clients to Ireland a country that will continue to remain in the European Union. JRM then states that investments will be more stable there for his clients in the years following Brexit.
Jacob Rees Mogg, Man Of Faith
If his constituents don't like his pronouncements they will not vote him in again.
However, you could almost persuade me to vote for him varian - probably as a result of reverse psychology.
Varian
" I repeat POGS that I have never criticised JRM's religion,"
Cop out Varian or ridiculous comment I can't make my mind up.
It is his religious belief that decides his view on topics such as assisted suicide and abortion. He accepts however his view is not that of the law as made in Parliament but he is quite right to expect to live in a country where he can hold an opinion, the same as you and I.
Our religious belief , as in you and I , is bugger all to do with the repeated dislike you hold of Rees Mogg and therefore of no consequence other than we both have a right to hold an opinion as with Rees Mogg or any other MP who votes in a manner that you and I may not / will not agree with.
By all means let it guide your own behaviour, but do not impose it on others.
That was the question I asked earlier varian - does it guide his own behaviour or does he want his beliefs to become law?
I don't think you have answered that yet.
Faith is not a private matter varian you want it to be ,you have said it should be kept within the home and the Church, and want faith schools closed .
I do not demand everyone practises a faith, you want it practiced behind closed doors.
Should Dr.King have remained silent ?
I repeat POGS that I have never criticised JRM's religion, only his appalling attitudes (remember him comparing people who went to state schools with potted plants?), and his voting record.
As you say there are many MPs adhering to various religions who do not use that as an excuse for a total lack of understanding and empathy for ordinary folk.
I have said nothing about my own religous views, and I do not enquire about yours. Religion should be a private matter. By all means let it guide your own behaviour, but do not impose it on others.
Varian
What you actually dislike is the Catholic faith of which Rees Mogg , gainst the backdrop of Religious Bigotry , holds faith with. Indeed it must follow you dislike any religious faith that holds a similar view, unless you are a hypocrite .
You continually choose to ignore the fact that MP's from Labour and other parties have voted as Rees Mogg on so many of the list you provide, including abortion and assisted suicide.
What you are doing is not giving 'context' to what he says over say 'abortion' which he accepts is decided by Parliament and his is only a view to which he quite correctly believes we are all entitled to.
JRM is answerable to those who voted him into parliament , they are the general public in his constituency
