Posting this for anyone who may wish to tick off names , easy to bring up if and when needed .

As I said previously, it is a case of 'he said, she said'.
Unsubstantiated claims are not evidence
Hearsay is not evidence.

Nice tries, though smile

MawBroon Sat 15-Sept-18 11:31:27

The Times claims the list comes from a member of staff from the leader’s office and was written in January

So based on that you claim the list originated from The Times.
Non sequitur I am afraid.
That in no way negates the existence of a list and although LPHQ denied it came from JC’s office, well they would wouldn’t they?
What is more relevant is that Labourlist.org thought it worth publishing. Even they do not accuse the Times of fabricating it -strange that.

Anniebach Sat 15-Sept-18 11:23:54

Foot sued the Times and won, why didn’t Corbyn fight back?

trisher Sat 15-Sept-18 11:20:53

Exactly Jalima1108 and it says
The Times claims the list comes from a member of staff from the leader’s office and was written in January
The Times is owned by Rupert Murdoch who surely has a vested interest in trying to prevent the upsurge of the LP?

Anniebach Sat 15-Sept-18 11:16:18

Only four years ago and Corbyn doesn’t know if he was involved in wreath laying for terrorists yet he was there !

Perhaps his office should have said about the list - we don’t know if we were involved with the writing of the list.

Jalima1108 Sat 15-Sept-18 11:06:38

^ If only people would actually read what is there.^

I think we have.

I have read it several times now and cannot see where it says it was made up by the Times.

The article begins:
Allies of Jeremy Corbyn have drawn up a secret list ranking Labour MPs according to the loyalty to the party leader.

It is then a case of 'he said, she said' with no definite proof or conclusion.

trisher Sat 15-Sept-18 11:01:33

Deselection is a process decided by the MPs constituency party, how is that relevant to this list which you allege was produced by Corbyn's HQ? Are you saying it wa circulated to all branches of the LP?

trisher Sat 15-Sept-18 10:59:19

It isn't a "Labour List" It is reproduced in an article which clearly states it was first published in the Times newspaper which claimed it had been leaked. No evidence was produced from any source and Corbyn's office denied it had ever existed. If only people would actually read what is there.

Anniebach Sat 15-Sept-18 10:58:33

Jalima, I believe the list I should true, I base this on the facts- a number of on the right of the list face deselection. Corbyn’s office reply was only ‘it wasn’t us we know nothing about it’ , they didn’t challenge it. I have spoken to some MP’s on the list , they are being threatened, bullied. There are moves to deselect them.

We shall see who is allowed to speak at the conference .

Jalima1108 Sat 15-Sept-18 10:52:06

but the thread is called "The hit list" and there is no evidence that such a list ever existed
Are you saying, then, that LabourList fabricated the whole thing trisher?

Anniebach Sat 15-Sept-18 10:51:11

Thank you eazybee.

Frank Field was interviewed on ‘ToDay’ this morning, instead of criticising the Arch Bish of Canterbury for speaking out he had a meeting with the Bish and put forward - the Anglican Church buys the Wonga loan book and help the people who are heavily in debt to this company. He is still working for the vunerable as he has always done. A true socialist who has been expelled by the Corbyn/Momentum Party.

Frank is on the hit list.

Jalima1108 Sat 15-Sept-18 10:48:56

Sometimes people change and they should be honest about it.
Sometimes parties change too, due to the people leading them and those in the background pulling the strings.

And the list is still an invention of the Times newspaper
Could you provide evidence to back up that claim please, trisher from a reputable source.
It would be interesting to find out the absolute truth, as there is no evidence so far to back up that claim.

Thanks

trisher Sat 15-Sept-18 10:45:40

Annie it was a list in 2016 which had faded into oblivion until you chose to search for a list and resurrected it in your desperate quest to find something else to use agaiinst Corbyn. Why sue over something everyone else has forgotten? Because some obsessive on GN chooses to reserect it? I think not.
MawBroon it isn't difficult to sort MPs into lists of where they stand politically-left or centre etc, but the thread is called "The hit list" and there is no evidence that such a list ever existed. How MPs have been treated is often the result of a falling out with their constituency party and nothing to do with LP headquarters. If you want to believe in a conspiracy theory you will do. It doesn't make it true.

eazybee Sat 15-Sept-18 10:41:30

Anniebach is no more Conservative than I am Labour, and she has made it perfectly clear that it is Corbyn and Momentum that she does not support.
I too admire Frank Field and and his courage in speaking his mind and sticking to his principles, which he has done consistently throughout his career.

MawBroon Sat 15-Sept-18 10:32:56

Trouble is Trisher that many of the names on the list have since shown either by their words or actions, or by the way they have been treated, that there is a clear logic to it.
If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck..... ? ? ?

Anniebach Sat 15-Sept-18 10:28:28

I so admire Frank Field, thrown out of the party but still fighting for true socialist values.

Anniebach Sat 15-Sept-18 10:26:18

How many times ? No point in endorsing anything put forward by a hypocrite.

I doubt there are people who believe the world is flat. Where is your proof the list was the work of The Times? When Foot was accused of being a Russian spy he sued and won. All Corbyn’s office could say of the list was ‘it wasn’t us’

trisher Sat 15-Sept-18 10:15:13

There are people who believe the earth is flat.
Instead of saying you don't rubbish the LP perhaps you could post something you do endorse Annie

Anniebach Sat 15-Sept-18 10:03:13

Pointless in discussing policies when there is no trust in the those who put them forward.

I do not rubbish the Labour Party, I criticise the Corbyn/ Momentum Party.

I believe the list came from Corbyn’s office.

trisher Sat 15-Sept-18 09:54:26

All of Annie's posting about her career with Labour is no doubt very laudable but the fact remains efforts to discover exactly which policies of the present LP she supports have never met with any response. All that emerges is a constant tirade against Labour. So here as a balance are the Labour things she doesn't support
The twice elected (by members) leader of the party Jeremy Corbyn
The funders of the party- the Unions
Any MP supported by Momentum
Any member of the LP who is a member of Momentum
Any one she considers far-left (which as far as I can see is anyone sllightly left of Tony Blair)
There are probably a lot more but quite frankly it is ridiculous to claim you love a party and systematically rubbish everything it stands for. Sometimes people change and they should be honest about it.
And the list is still an invention of the Times newspaper

Grandad1943 Fri 14-Sept-18 21:30:02

MawBroon, I apologies for getting your forum name incorrect it was in no way deliberate.

Genuine.

Chewbacca Fri 14-Sept-18 21:25:32

Maybe Maw, but it's so silly and childish, especially from a grown man.

MawBroon Fri 14-Sept-18 21:14:34

?‍♀️ maybe it is a Freudian slip chewbacca? grin ?‍♀️

Chewbacca Fri 14-Sept-18 21:03:25

Grandad why do you mess about with posters names? You've called Maw mawbroom. You had a pop at my name earlier today. Why? You seem to be a fairly intelligent chap, not brilliant, but ok; and I definitely don't agree with your political views. But I would never do you, or any other poster, the discourtesey of misspelling or ridiculing names. It's such a silly and childish thing to do and I winder why you do it. It really detracts from taking your posts seriously, even when their is dissent. So could you explain what the problem with Maw's, and my name, is please?

Anniebach Fri 14-Sept-18 20:47:39

Harriet Harman has stated the next party leader should be a woman.

She is on the list too.
