Oh Grandad you must be a literal soul. It should have been obvious ,as it was to others, that my response to MaryEliza was somewhat ironic, being couched in the language she had just used to me.
(I do try to speak to people in language they will understand)
But threads about threads are not allowed on GN so maybe best to stop banging on about it, eh? wink

Grandad1943 Fri 14-Sept-18 20:40:08

Anniebach, quote [ I have no wish to discuss anything with the poster who uses lavatorial language.] End quote.

Anniebach, if you do not wish to discuss anything with a poster who uses "lavatorial language" to use your words, then why are you speaking to mawbroom as you must be aware of the expletive that poster used in another thread.

Also anniebach all you state in your above post is in the past. It is now a different world especially for the one in five workers that are trapped in the gig economy.

That gig economy you have been asked to condemn and join in support for the Labour party policy of ending that so-called employment. So far you have not stated that you do support that core Labour commitment.

It is a conservative policy to allow the gig economy to remain, and you seem by your non-action to support that Tory policy.

GrannyGravy, so that’s what it meant , I knew it wouldn’t be foul but couldn’t work it out , thank you x

Jalima1108 Fri 14-Sept-18 20:36:07

Anniebach Fri 14-Sept-18 20:35:24

Thank you all, thought best to put it on record in one post.

Chuka Umunna in that List too.

Jalima1108 Fri 14-Sept-18 20:28:52

Brilliant post anniebach
Very well said.

and a vg post niggly

Jalima1108 Fri 14-Sept-18 20:23:59

scatological
I had to look that up (I have led a sheltered life)

What is a KBW
Knight of the British ?
Woodentops? or something ruder?

Anniebach Fri 14-Sept-18 20:11:45

So meme Maw but just wanted to clear up the constant accusations of being a liar, have faults but never a liar.

You were right about those facing deselection, there are more sadly.

MawBroon Fri 14-Sept-18 20:07:38

Brilliant post Anniebach!
Your credentials are plain for all to see and your personal and practical experience and your history with the Labour Party clearly show that, unlike some, you know what you are talking about.

Anniebach Fri 14-Sept-18 20:05:07

niggly x

nigglynellie Fri 14-Sept-18 20:04:13

Excellent post annie, ?? now I'm off!

Overthehills Fri 14-Sept-18 20:00:34

What Jalima and MawBroon have said. Your diatribe against Annie should have been deleted in my opinion. You have made this into a personal attack - shame on you.

Anniebach Fri 14-Sept-18 19:59:05

mmmmm, the sort of person I am !

Welsh , hopefully decended from the last PofW ?, but I doubt he went to Anglesey .

A Labour Party member for over fifty years.

Campaigned at every general election for the Labour Party.

Think the most difficult was 1983 emotionally , Michael Foot a family friend , that man was so eloquent. But always in my mind was Gerald kaufman’s verdict on the manifesto
“The longest suicide note in history”. He was so right.

I knew Neil and Glenys Kinnock before Neil became leader, Glen was born in Holyhead and my great aunts were friends of her family. I knew Neil as MP for a neighbouring valley.

On a rather personal note, Stephen Kinnock and my younger daughter have something in common, born on the same bed in the Labour ward in Tredegar grin
Was pea green with envy when Mandela first came to the U.K. and wanted to thank Glen and Neil personally.

Canvassed through the wilderness years, swore at, spat at.

Had great respect for John Smith .

Met Gordon Brown many times, there was no divide between Welsh labour supporters and the rest of the country. Was disappointed Gordon stepped back for Tony Blair to stand, but understood why he did.

Was elated when labour won in 1997.

What a difference in the party conferences ?, met lovely Mo Mowlan , could she swear but not that word or lavatorial vulgarities .

Voted for Andy Burnham when he stood with Ed Milliband.

Met so many lovely people in those years, some are now MP’s.

Am loyal to Welsh Labour, relieved Corbyn avoids Wales, think this will change when the new leader of Welsh Labour takes office,

My one wish , that Gordon Brown could have ‘done’ tv.

The longest meme post I have ever done, this is how much my party means to me .

Chewbacca Fri 14-Sept-18 19:55:55

Think lemon has summed it up pretty well. Personally, I think its a lack of articulation that leads people to having to resort to the sort of language that was used by one poster last night. Shame really.....

nigglynellie Fri 14-Sept-18 19:52:35

I'm bowing out of this thread. Unfortunately underlying unpleasantness in particular to annie by certain people is just too much. I thought the Labour Party was a broad church! clearly I was very much mistaken. Intolerance and bigotry are alive and well, as well as arrogant rudeness and totally untrue accusations by people who don't know annie, know nothing about her political life, her personal life or anything at all and yet see fit to accuse her of being a closet Tory! Frankly Grandad you should be,ashamed of yourself and it is you who should be apologising.

lemongrove Fri 14-Sept-18 19:50:40

Well, you would think that wouldn’t you GrannyG and I would think so too, but apparently it’s allowed.Yet, much lesser posts are often deleted, it’s an enigma wrapped up in a conundrum alright.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 14-Sept-18 19:46:28

Cheebacca, I am not sure about gransnett guidelines, I am a relatively new poster.

Personally on reading through the thread it seems very wrong for one poster to be so vehement to ab, we are all entitled to our own opinions and views, but surely the potty mouth abuse is not acceptable on a public forum.

Chewbacca Fri 14-Sept-18 19:40:45

Is it? confused

GrannyGravy13 Fri 14-Sept-18 19:38:36

There seems to be an awful lot of bully boy tactics on this thread.

It says a lot about the posters, very easy to be a KBW

MawBroon Fri 14-Sept-18 19:30:01

Anniebach your post about those MPs whose names were in the RH lists and are now either facing votes of no confidence or being threatened with desertion speaks for itself.
I too think this thread should stay up but not for your reasons Grandad. Your scatological humour (if indeed humour it is) does you no favours.

lemongrove Fri 14-Sept-18 19:28:37

Absolutely Jalima ??

Jalima1108 Fri 14-Sept-18 19:18:28

I believe the thread should remain up so as all forum members can witness just what kind of a person the opening poster really is.
Good idea! smile

It also shows us your true persona Grandad

petra Fri 14-Sept-18 19:15:46

Opening Poster that would be you Annie grin
I think most of us on the political threads, and others know what kind of person you are. You are a labour supporter who lives in the real world and not the la la never land of Corbyn supporters.
