You should perhaps have the courage to go and tell mothers afraid their kid will not get their insulin, epipens or cancer therapy to chill- please do if you are brave enough.
Sometimes it’s just the small things that press the bruise isn’t it? 😢

just a bit of 'mithering' here:

I cannot believe I am reading that someone is stating the EU will not export or delay exporting life saving drugs to the UK once they have left the EU. It would only take a couple of deaths to occur because of this practice for a severe backlash against the EU from the rest of the world. Get a grip
I presume you mean me Jura?
How could I tell them something I don’t have a clue about.
That’s what I mean by chill.
You and I can do nothing, unless of course, you are secretly privy to the negotiations.
So you are worried about something you have no control of and that is always scary.
If there is something you can change then sort it. If there isn’t then there isn’t anything that you can do so accept that fact and chill!

Epipens are manufactured in the US. I thought you would know that. Why should they be imported to the EU from the USA to then be imported to the UK?
Sorry, but I think bringing children with cancer into your mithering is quite a wicked thing to post and peddling such scare stories is despicable.
We saw DH's consultant the day after the referendum and he told us the mood at the hospital was very bleak. He is still fearing the worst and so is every other doctor I've spoken to.
I spoke to mine and she was very upbeat.
Jura your comment re " children with cancer" was in extremely poor taste!!! You have no idea if any of us on this forum have AC or GC dealing with cancer at this time.
Even taking into account all the nasty and sometimes outright vicious posts on the Brexit threads that really was the lowest of the low.
Because Jalima, if you listen to medical and pharmaceutical experts, it is the reality that we can be faced with a bad deal or no deal. And it is indeed wicked and sick to choose to ignore it, and it is the lowest of the low - and be told it is 'mithering' and to 'chill'.
So, what exactly should people be doing, I wonder?
You should perhaps have the courage to go and tell mothers afraid their kid will not get their insulin, epipens or cancer therapy to chill- please do if you are brave enough.
I echo the others who have said in what exceedingly poor taste it is to scaremonger to this level.
I would have not believed even you could sink so low
and I am frankly disgusted.
Within a gnat’s whisker of leaving you to become increasingly hysterical all by yourself.
You should perhaps have the courage to go and tell mothers afraid their kid will not get their insulin, epipens or cancer therapy to chill- please do if you are brave enough.
jura that comment is too far and you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself. There is at least one grandparent on this forum who is currently sitting by her GCs bedside, waiting to see if his treatment is successful. What impact do you imagine your post will have on them? In your increasingly fevered posts over the last few days about ruddy Brexit, you've made increasingly bizarre statements, most of which can be laughed off, but that last one is utterly shameful and should be removed before it causes more hurt to a particular member of this forum.
Perhaps you should do some research. And ask yourself whether it is fair to ask those parents not to be hugely concerned. Chewbacca, my heart goes to this person and her family- the last thing they want to hear is that they should not be worried about the lack of drugs and treatment available post Brexit. DO SOME RESEARCH.
Sick.
Jura, maybe it's time for an apology not more vitriol.
Just one of so many I have read recently:
www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/mar/13/brexit-and-the-treatment-of-children-with-cancer
Posting in BLOCK CAPITALS don't impress me much jura.
Earlier today you said "^but I will refrain from being rude or personal- however tempting at this stage.^" Instead you've been offensive and hurtful and I stand by my request that your post be removed. By all means, carry on with your wild mitherings about Brexit (incidentally, I'm glad to see that you've fully embraced the word and use it as often as you can) but for pity's sake, think about those that will be affected by your doom laden portents before you hit your keyboard. You went too far this time.
And it is indeed wicked and sick to choose to ignore it, and it is the lowest of the low - and be told it is 'mithering'
You called it mithering jura
And as for bringing children who have cancer into your argument - sorry, but you should feel ashamed.
How devastating this diagnosis is for parents, grandparents who find their beloved child has been diagnosed and how despicable it is to use this analogy in your thread in order to take another swipe at anyone on here who voted Brexit.
No, it is not an 'argument' it is the reality. The reality oncologists are very aware of and are very concerned about- of course about all cancer patients. So blame the experts in the field, blame the BMJ, if you wish.
Ignoring the REAL and devastating issues a bad deal or no deal could bring, to the poor people, and children, affected- is what is really sick and tragic- and as you say, certainly not 'mithering' (which Maw very rudely introduced), nor the time to 'chill'.
'Professor McKee said some of the most widely used medical isotopes can only be produced in specialised reactors, none of which are in the UK. The materials currently used in Britain are mostly manufactured in the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
Writing in the British Medical Journal (BMJ), he said there was “no excuse” for government ministers’ failure to foresee the problems that leaving Euratom would cause.
“Although it may be possible for the UK to remain within existing arrangements, it will be exceptionally complicated and the UK’s position will inevitably be weakened”, he wrote.
“Crucially, the government has offered no real clarity on how any agreement might be achieved. The position paper on Euratom published by the government in July 2017 contained little detail even on nuclear power and did not mention medical isotopes. ,
What I wonder does Jura get out of this?
Maybe a new username is needed Cassandra - she who foretold doom and gloom., gleefully anticpaing an apocalyptic future?
Shall we consider
1 Are GN members in a position to change anything? ✖️
2 Does prognosticating on social media achieve anything?✖️
3 Does Jura speak from a position of greater experience? ✖️
5 Or have a loftier view from her Swiss mountaintop?✖️
4 Does it perhaps boost her feelings of self importance to insensitively scaremonger and lecture us poor saps who actually live in the U.K.? ✔️
Where is humanity? Consideration? Common sense?
I'm sorry but it does not excuse your post of 17.11.18 today which in my humble opinion was and is - unkind, uncaring and totally uncalled for.
On this thread BTW the first person to mention mithering was in fact Jura. And we don’t do threads about threads do we?
I agree GrannyG in fact I think this thread should be deleted by GNHQ.
Using antiBrexit feelings as an excuse to whip up hysteria about parients not being able to have life saving treatments and epi pens ( from the US in any case) is uncaring and unpleasant.
I agree that it should be deleted as it could cause undue anxiety and stress to those who have DC or DGC who may need treatments.
I also agree - this thread should be deleted.
This thread should be deleted because some people have chosen to hysterically misrepresent what Jura2 was trying to say about the possible future supply of medicines, including those for cancer. But as some of you will not even believe the word of experts, this is a pointless thread.
