GrannyGravy13 Quote[ As our PM at the time was so sure that the remain vote would win, the government had no idea what would happen in the event of a leave result, and had not made any contingency plans. ] End Quote.
GrannyGravy13, surely the leave leaders had (or should have) considered ALL the possible scenarios and complications of Britain withdrawing from the European Union. In that, they did not inform the electorate of those complications, including the possibility of not being able to conclude a customs agreement and what that would entail for Britains ports and the Irish border
Instead of the above, those leaders constantly told the electorate that a "golden future" would be readily available to the UK on leaving and nothing else.
However, now we have the Government, and those leave leaders in the cabinet having to seriously consider the deployment of the armed forces in those ports and other critical areas because of their failure in the leave negotiations.
The above I would describe as "abject failure", but of course leave voters knew precisely what they were voting for, or so many of them state.
