Scottish Independence

Perhaps Westminster is giving far too much money to Holyrood then.....Free this, free that, aren’t you the lucky ones up there in Scotland.
The truth is, the SNP, when first new and shiny, piqued everyone’s interest, oh they would do this, that and the other and all would be marvellous.Except it isn’t.
I don’t think there is any appetite from all I have heard and seen for Scotland to leave the UK, so I think the Independence dream is dead.Which is good, as Scotland has been part of the UK for hundreds and hundreds of years.

If the majority of people in Scotland had voted for independence they would have it. But they didn’t. It seems that when referendums don’t give people what they want, they want to keep throwing the dice until they get a six! For goodness sake why not tell them to push off and stop the whinging! Can’t bear to listen to it all. Brexit, Scotland, everyone has got a gripe!

Which is good, as Scotland has been part of the UK for hundreds and hundreds of years.

I think, if you imagine there will ever be Independence, then you may well be loudly la-la-ing yourself.Not enough want it or are even concerned about it.The SNP and their supporters shout loudly about it for sure, but that isn’t enough.

Oddly enough I am vaguely aware that the independence issue may have been discussed elsewhere.

As I did, that from what we see and hear there is no real appetite in Scotland for Independence.That may upset you but so be it.

It feels like hundreds of years of inept SNP govt up here! Educational attainment has plummeted so badly that it's not now to be measured! Many many unfilled teaching posts. The expensive waste that was the named person's scheme. Health and social care crisis widely reported. Centralised police a disaster. There are so many failures that it's boring to list them if only it wasn't so frustrating. Meanwhile Nicola rushes from photo opportunity to photo opportunity in her wee red suit.
I can understand Granny23 and her blind loyalty to a historical dream but I find it hard to live with the strident nationalism that just ignores the rest of us and how we do not want to leave the UK - and we are the majority.

We are one small island here, ridiculous to break up the union, but some would rather be part of a massive federal EU it seems.

We are stronger in the UK and in the EU

Well lemon better a pedant than someone who just has to make personal comments about posters that don’t share her particular point of view and what is more a poster who is able to argue cogently, intelligently and in a well informed manner.

I can't help thinking that it is a sad contempt for accuracy among parts of the UK population that has got us into the current Brexit mess. A few more pedants wouldn't come amiss...
