I believe this is in case of civil unrest! It doesn’t take much for civil rights unrest to hit, especially if food is in short supply. Some may call me a fear monger but IMO it is a possibility

Hang about though..
Leavers won't be revolting.
It will be Remainers who don't like it and the army will be there to quell THEIR protests (at democracy working.....)
If there is disruption through the ports in April civil unrest would be a real possibility. Forty-four percent of all Britain's fresh chilled and frozen food comes through the channel ports and tunnel on JIT services.
If this happened in any other country we'd be calling it a coup! If May and her cohorts turn the army on us there will be riots .She behaves like chief dictator ,her way or no way..this is just an exxtesion of her megalomania .
Leavers will be rioting as much as anyone if there’s no food in the shops, attacking minority groups is more likely from that side of the opinion spectrum.
Project Fear?
Of course not.
‘Managed no deal’? That’s just more Brexit snake oil

Autosuggestion isn't it ?
And there we go again crystaltipps, leavers being accused of being more likely to "attack minority groups". Because we're all uneducated thugs aren't we? That's just the same as me calling all remainers holier than thou snobs whose heads are stuck so far up their backsides and who can't comprehend that others may have a different, but nonetheless valid, opinion than them. Ring any bells? Anyway, I'm just off to my National Front meeting now, and then I think I'll spend the rest of the afternoon cross-stitching my swastika...…...

That's wonderful ????
As a “leaver” I can see the remain point of view, I would not ridicule a person for the way they vote.
Unfortunately “remainers” have been ridiculing and insulting leavers for 21/2 years and it is getting repetitive and increasingly nasty.
I've never called the leavers names, yet I've been called a Remoaner, and accused of being part of the "Metropolitan Liberal Elite". I don't mind being called Liberal. I am an ordinary person living in a rural area, so neither elite nor metropolitan.
As for the much more scurrilous labels such as "traitor" , it is utterly disgraceful that the right-wing press sees fit to print this inflammatory language and even more disgraceful that our Prime Minister continues to use it. I was pleased to hear Yvette Cooper reprimand her for saying that a second vote would be a "betrayal".
We should surely have progressed beyond name calling.

Isn't that calling people who believe in Brexit liars, though?
Most of those who believe in brexit are not liars but they have all been lied to by the Leave Campaign.
Plenty of insults of remainers here.
Do you not think minority groups, if attacked, are more likely to be attacked by those of the Brexit persuasion? That’s in no way saying all Leavers will attack minority groups, of course not, but I wonder who it was who daubed racist slogans on a Polish community centre immediately after the referendum? Who beat up a Spanish man for “ not speaking English”? Amongst many, many other incidents. Mindless thugs, you may say, but you can’t deny Brexit has allowed such creatures to emerge from under their stones. Tommy Robinson now employed by UKIP is rather telling.
What I was also trying to say was that the assertion that the reservists are to quell the potential unrest which will caused by Remainers. . The implication being that Leavers will all be so thrilled with a no deal Brexit none of them would be causing any civil unrest.

You might not have the courage to ' say it ' but you undoubtedly are trying hard to ' say it' .
I remember those sort of comments , on here also if my memory serves me well, over the shop explosion in Leicester. The ' Kangaroo Court ' jumped on the band wagon making allegations of racism and blaming the far right when it was nothing like it.
" Three men have been sentenced at Leicester Crown Court for the murder of five people - including three members of the same family - they killed in a huge explosion.
Aram Kurd, Hawkar Hassan and Arkan Ali blew up a Polish store in Leicester city centre last February, planning to claim a £300,000 insurance payout."

There are other scenarios that may or may not prove your point as I am not silly enough to pretend the far right are not perfectly capable of doing vile things but I do not like those who want to attribute everything and anything without the facts / evidence to make a political point usually.
I think vile people are vile people and they may be from the left/right of politics and/or Leavers/Remainers.

The use of Brexshitters for Leavers and ' in bed with racists' has been used on gransnet and that point was raised on another thread. !
Perhaps it is time to stop to thinking only one side of the Referendum debate can lay claim to having a holier than thou attitude and a little more respect for how and why we all voted as we did might hopefully follow.
Well the original belief further up this thread that it would be only remainers who would cause civil unrest is the one I am challenging. The belief that a Leavers would be pleased with a no deal in which there may be food and medicine shortages is somewhat naive. The denial that displeasure may be taken out on other members of the population by those of a certain mindset, and denial that they exist under the banner of Brexit is similarly naive. Talk to people in Northern Ireland if they are happy with troops being sent back on their streets in the event of no deal. Don’t blame remainers for unrest there.
After all these leavers were told we would be better off, have our cake and eat it, they need us more than we need them, the whole wide world is queuing up to buy our exports, and we will once again be a major global trading nation, and there will be unicorns and rainbows all the way.
So if the brexit nonsense is actually allowed to happen, there might be some very disappointed Leave voters.

what? In this country?

If you love Britain, you should bin Brexit. Nationalism isn't the same as patriotism - and the zealots are killing our country.

Jalima1108, just now I’m visiting my daughter in NZ and watching Brexit from afar. I would rather take Maydeal than crash out, although I voted to remain. I think we are in dangerous territory with a crash out with outcomes beyond prediction. I’m fed up with all the insults flying both in The Commons and in these forums. IMO the people with the most to lose are those with the lowest incomes. All food in NZ is expensive and this could cause chaos in the UK with no deal. Scary times may be just round the corner.
Remember the results of hyper-inflation in Germany, pre WW2!
