As said above- the lies were not the most important factors at play - the rest is much much worse.

jura You'll probably never forgive me for saying this, but your style of writing reminds me of Daily Mail headlines.
Having said that I quite like the DM, parts of it anyway.

jura2 Sun 17-Mar-19 16:57:54

probably best to ignore this last remark Fennel - how low can anyone stoop ;)

Jalima1108 Sun 17-Mar-19 19:30:10

how low can anyone stoop

I don't know, but that remark to Fennel is very low jura

Jalima1108 Sun 17-Mar-19 19:31:39

I like Monty Don's column, ~Fennel, DH buys the Saturday paper with its tv programme magazine and I like Bel Mooney and giggle at Amanda Platell as she is SO bitchy - rather like some Gransnetters grin

The People March’ to make the calls for a People’s Vote too loud to ignore.

On the 23rd of March, just six days before the Government hopes to take Britain out of the EU, hundreds of thousands of people will march on Parliament offering a solution to a crisis that threatens their living standards, businesses and jobs. We demand a People’s Vote, and come 23 March, it could be a case of now or never.

I think people who live virtually full time in Switzerland ought to butt out, regardless of having a 'so called' strong foot in England.
If you don't live here, your views are of no consequence.

crystaltipps Sun 17-Mar-19 20:55:44

Even if you do live here your views are of no consequence if they are not the torykipper line.

jura2 Sun 17-Mar-19 21:06:21

GabriellaG54 - there are 100s of 1000s of us, British, who have worked all our adult lives contributing to the UK and are now totally dependent on UK pensions for our short-term future, and planning to come back to UK at some point.

And we should 'butt out' and low all our hard work and rights to be stripped away. And 'butt out' about the future of our British born and resident children and grandchildren.

What happens now in the UK will strongly affect other countries and the whole of the EU btw.

Does you comment apply only to those who live in Switzerland btw- or to those in France, Italy and EU countries and other parts of the world?

jura2 Sun 17-Mar-19 21:11:27

I am glad I can still vote in the UK, and will be using it for sure.

lemongrove Sun 17-Mar-19 21:18:38

crystal that’s ridiculous.
Your views are not considered because more people voted to Leave the EU than those who voted to Remain.
What would you say to Leavers who moaned on two years after a referendum where Remain won the day, and they said ‘our views are not considered’ ? I can guess the answer.

In any case, May’s deal does go a long way to try and heal divisions in society caused by the referendum.

GabriellaG54 Sun 17-Mar-19 21:26:55

Anywhere, especially those who defect then come back when on their last legs and 'wanting to be with family and GC' aka free NHS care and associated benefits thst aren't available wherever they currently live.
Can't wait to be rid of the British climate but arrive back on our shores to spend their old age pampered by our benefit system and the NHS.
Before you get up in arms, I couldn't care less what your opinion of my opinion is.

jura2 Sun 17-Mar-19 21:39:23

Don't worry- we shall never be a burden to the State- and neither will my OH be- we have made sure of that. As for the NHS, we are fully entitled to it now,as we have paid into the system all our lives - and my OH in many more ways than most. We didn't move for the climate (been snowing all day btw) - but to look after my very elderly parents when they needed us.

lemongrove- Mrs May's deal will heal nothing and solve nothing.

How kind, generous and open-minded of you.

lemongrove Sun 17-Mar-19 21:53:28

I than kew! grin

lemongrove Sun 17-Mar-19 21:54:57

Of course it will solve things, trade will continue smoothly for a start.

lemongrove Sun 17-Mar-19 21:56:56

jura you don’t want to leave the EU at all, but you will have to accept a compromise, as will those who prefer to leave and trade under WTO rules.

Lily65 Sun 17-Mar-19 22:17:05

do you think Nigels march is going well?

Labaik Sun 17-Mar-19 22:39:39

You mean the march he doesn't actually appear to be on now?

Lily65 Sun 17-Mar-19 23:16:10

Where's Nigel?

MaizieD Sun 17-Mar-19 23:20:37

Nobody thought he would go any distance with them, did they? It was just a photo op...

crystaltipps Mon 18-Mar-19 08:04:33

There’s only 50 doing the whole march and some of that is by bus.....

Lily65 Mon 18-Mar-19 09:13:21

So more of a stroll really?

jura2 Mon 18-Mar-19 10:33:09

Well, it is quite sinister in fact the 'where is Nigel'? He is going around Europe to talk to any alt right leaning politicians to stop our own Sovereign Parliament from doing its job. The irony and hypocrisy- and the dangers - are beyond belief.

Fennel Mon 18-Mar-19 11:44:23

Yesterday Nigel was on his usual mid-day slot on LBC.
Probably again today after James O'B.
