andycameron You haven't 'alf got a shock coming to you.
it will be fine, so many people I see hate democracy and majority quite easy to understand
party time ... whoop whoop
Seems blue collar workers are fed up.
Truckers are jamming the motorways - the M6, the M62 etc - in protest at the shambolic negotiations in getting us OUT of the EU.
If the government don’t get on with it I fear this will be the tip of the iceberg.
good news I say. happy weekend urmston
You are a fab poster, take a bow....we just do not get furious at the negative posts on here and the vitriol..party time next frigay. might well open a pink cava and be done with it...

Joelsnan, I must reply to you about the millenium bug. The reason it wasn't catastrophic was because people like my husband worked 60 or 70 hour weeks for a year running simulations so they could address every possible problem. He like his fellow workers had to sign away his rights under the working time directive. The fact that you experienced problems at your work was down to your employers not preparing adequately.
Totally agree with you, the blatant self centred attitude of politicians has sickened me. They are supposed to represent their constituents and vote for all of our best interests, not just their own.
janipat
I accept that, however it cannot be said that it did not happen. What should be accepted is as a result of work by IT hard and software engineers the full impact of the bug was not felt.
IT departments did sterling service to cover all potential and known issues however they did not manage to modify all hard and software.
So, with regard to a Brexit without strings...many government, commercial and industrial enterprises who trade with EU have been making the same preparations and plans to avert the same doom laden end of world scenario.
they seem to be looking after themselves and not those who voted for them , nasty lots of traitors
Blimming ‘eck! Is Mrs. May FINALLY growing a spine?
This, just now, in the Graun:
Think no-deal Brexit has been taken off the table? Think again
Jonathan Freedland
Theresa May now appears to believe that crashing out might be acceptable.
she needs to back under her rock and receive even more cash from the evil EU
Again, another from article in the Graun:
‘The EU increasingly believes a no-deal Brexit on 12 April is the most likely outcome, senior EU officials have said, prompting Emmanuel Macron to privately ask the Irish prime minister if his country could cope.
The French president sought assurance from Leo Varadkar in the closing moments of a marathon session of talks on Thursday night, as the leaders looked to settle on mid-April as the new cliff-edge.
“What will happen if there is a no-deal Brexit on 12 April?” Macron asked of the Irish taoiseach. “Would you be fine?”
our we go WTO, this is the only true Brexit, I am so excited and elated

celebrate good times.

So, truckers threatening to block motorways is "good news" on Urmstongrans Good News About Brexit thread."
The fact that those blockading trucks could be holding up ambulances, police or the Fire Service on there way to emergencies in the tailbacks caused should not be considered or spoken of.
In those tailbacks, there would also be people trying to get to Hospitals for treatment along with others on important personal and work business.
I believe the above demonstrates only too well the compleat lack of understanding and comprehension of some in the leave cause.
probably livestock too.
Grandad1943
You have omitted to mention the hundreds of remainer coaches apparently clogging up the motorways on their way to bring London to a standstill. Their march the evidence to show their inability to accept democracy.
The good news about Brexit is that there exists a hidden consortium of shadowy MPs, scientists, and artists who have taken an oath of silence and send secret messages to each other via the British Library reference shelves.. These hero rescuers plan as follows:
Theresa May and the Tories will be abolished. Then the secret organisation will take command so that article 50 will be abolished . These serious men and women of the secret consortium will then get on with the expert business of government while we happy plebs dance in the streets, and on the beaches, valleys and hilltops from Lands End to John o Groats.
Joelsnan, in regard your post @ 10:36 today (24/03/19) those coaches bringing the "Peoples Vote" campaigners to London have permission to do so. Parking has been organised and roads closed off as per a legal application to do so.
In the above routes can be planned for Emergency Services access as the police are aware of all that will take place.
However, with the truck owners blockading motorways there can be none of the above pre-planning as they have stated that their action will take place with no pre-warning.
The above demonstrates yet again the compleat lack of understanding and comprehension of many in the leave cause.
Just to note, the truckers that are proposing the blockading of motorways, are "single vehicle owner drivers" who have much to personally gain from Britain leaving without an agreement. Those people are not employed drivers with the large distribution companies who have everything to lose.
They are the core of Britains Road Transport Industry, and no one else.
Joelsnan: Their march the evidence to show their inability to accept democracy.
To define democracy as honouring a majority vote, never mind how small and at any cost, is very narrow and damaging. The way the Brexit process got under way was totally undemocrating. There should have been cross-party consultation and negotiations from the very beginning. Instead a dictatorial stance was adopted: ”Brexit means Brexit, we WILL leave on the 29 March,” etc. This ”just put that in your pipe and smoke it” is not how you conduct business in a truly democratic society.
I can understand your frustration Greta but consider this. Why did the great majority of Remainer MP’s in the HoC vote overwhelmingly to trigger Article 50? They could have easily voted it down. And when they did trigger it they all KNEW leaving on the 29th March was the legal end game if a deal had not been agreed.
No wonder Leavers feel shafted!
I did the Stop the War march, unfortunately couldn't make this one. I think most people now recognise the. STW march was right and we shouldn't have invaded Iraq. So in 10 years time will we be saying if only we had listened to the Remainers march? Or will MPs learn from past mistakes?
And no Grandad43 about the truckers. The police had spoken to them ahead of the action and one lane had to be kept ‘at normal speed’ in case emergency vehicles needed to get past. I posted about it because I felt it was good news - that people who voted to Leave were displaying their frustration in a peaceful yet effective manner. Nowt wrong with that in my opinion!

Urmstongran, can you post a link to reports of Police speaking to the organisers of the Truckers protest as I seem not able to find any.
Also, anyone who regularly travels on Britains very crowded motorways will all to readily inform you Urmstongran that having only one lane running at normal speed will quickly cause tailbacks stretching for many miles affecting all traffic on all lanes.
There is a lighter side to this however. These protest truckers (so I am told) let it be known on social media that they were planning a "go slow protest" on the M5 in North Somerset between the Avonmouth and Clevedon junctions (19 to 20) for 5:30pm on Friday the 22nd March. The distance is about ten miles, and the stated aim was to cause the traffic to take at least an hour to travel that distance.
However, as numerous people pointed out, travelling between those two junctions at 5:30pm on any evening takes typically close to an hour being peak period. On a Friday Night in can take well over the above time with all the "weekend break" travellers adding to the usual rush hour traffic.
So, last nights "protest" never took place as far as I am aware. Perhaps the Truck protesters organisers did not wish to get held up in the traffic.
The above demonstrates once again the compleat lack of understanding and comprehension of many in the leave cause (Total Numpties).
Urmstongran. You've asked the question that no one seems to want to answer! ' Why oh why did MP's vote overwhelmingly to trigger article 50, knowing full well what the potential end game was in the event of no deal?' Also why did MP's of both main party's agree to fight a GE on the promise of delivering brexit, when in fact their real aim was to move heaven and earth to destroy it?! Those remainer MP's are SO dishonest as to be completely discredited. Far, far more than Mrs May who despite being a remainer has at least, having taken on this poisoned chalice, (in the absence of anyone else!!) worked tirelessly to deliver a deal (not perfect by any means) that I for one could accept and live with.
I just tried Grandad43 but it’s disapeared from the on line Daily Mail. It was a full length article though - I’m not making it up - and it contained quotes from a specific police force. I’m sure you’d find it on Google if you want to search.
