Hi everyone -

If you are at all politically minded and would like to share any GOOD NEWS about Brexit, or would just like to post some optimistic thoughts - this is the thread to love.
❤️

Most of us are weary of the gloom and doom on GN! Let’s share positive news and views. Its time to look for compromise, be kind and inclusive with one another if we can. Life’s too short to be scared or miserable!

Stop peeping. C’mon in! We’d love to hear from you.

Hi and thanks to Cherrytree59 Urmstongran and Wobbles.
I'm fagged out (tired) as my mum used to say.
Too much sun and the checkout lady in Tescos charged my for 3 pizzas when I bought only 2 and then scanned my box of two custard tarts then cancelled the sale but I have the tarts. Weird.
Rang them tonight and said I'd go in on Monday with receipt.
No large tins of own make evap milk sad either. I like it in coffee. I guess I'll have to buy a case next time.
Altogether a lovely day out and OH actually came into Primark shockshock
He's a big spender so only goes in 'posh shops' but I think he bought a dozen plain t-shirts and put them in my bag then gave me £50 notes to pay for everything.
I should have bought a lot more. grin
Bought pillows from JL and Easter Eggs for his children, for me to keep at mine otherwise they might find them.
Home to his now and going to catch up the GBSB and This Farming Life while he does business online...
I hope every one has a great day tomorrow with family, friends or just on your tod.
I'm having a long lie in ????

Full blown crisis.....but a dull one as well.

lemongrove Sat 30-Mar-19 18:42:23

Lily65.......your above post, are you an MP?
If not you should make your sources clear ( quoting a certain MP etc)

In any case, what do you (or MP’s) expect? Thanks to them
We are now in a dull blown crisis.
And yes, armed police around Westminster is normal now and has been for a while.

Oh well, the country is totally stuffed but you can go shopping, says it all.
We had to go shopping today - and have never seen so many people out shopping since Christmas!
I did say to DH that it must have been the sunshine that brought everyone out - "I know, it's a lovely day, let's take the children shopping at the Mall"
hmm
I would rather have been for a walk along the coast, but needs must.

Sorry for you maryeliza52 I was just responding to an earlier question. There are many irritating comments on some threads.
?

maryeliza54 Sat 30-Mar-19 13:47:56

Actually Urm I find the frequent “recommends” quite tedious and redolent of the teacher giving out merit points or gold stars. Once or twice was mildly amusing but there’s been scores now on at least two threads. Boring

Lily65 Sat 30-Mar-19 13:20:45

Today outside Parliament I and others were accosted by people shouting f**** traitor as we tried to get in to vote. Our staff were advised to leave the building for their own safety. There were armed police everywhere. This is not normal

I am not a misery guts. I feel strongly the UK is in chaos and it bothers me. I don't think having a glass of prosecco or a little witty recommend is going to fix anything any time soon.

Urmstongran Sat 30-Mar-19 13:08:55

I have found a reference to ‘take a recommend ‘!
It’s on ‘forces.chatter.co.uk’

Recommend:
Formalised approval or praise - ‘take a recommend’.

Validation then that it’s a positive expression.
Had to be - dad used it!

wobbles ?

Urmstongran Sat 30-Mar-19 12:20:44

Honestly Lily65 to say “Oh well, the country is totally stuffed but you can go shopping, says it all.” just makes you out to be a real misery guts!

Life goes on whilst we await Brexit.

Wobbles Sat 30-Mar-19 11:44:01

Enjoy your day GG54 smile
Lily 65 The world continues to turn and life will carry on even though the country is totally stuffed
Try to enjoy the respite this weekend has given us before the next round of hell begins. brew
Urmstongran I'm honoured to be given a recommend on another thread, thank you thanks

Urmstongran Sat 30-Mar-19 10:23:14

I did say

“... p.s. This is the only Brexit thread I shall be posting on from now on”

I cannot see where I have said I won’t post after 29th March though?

Perhaps I need to re read my manifesto haha!

Regards ‘take a recommend’ why would my dad have put it in his telegram? Anyway I thought it was a very romantic way of proposing to my mum back in 1952 and she loved it!

Cherrytree59 Sat 30-Mar-19 10:17:23

Well done GG54.
It is important to keep the economy going.?
some enjoy the feeling of doom and gloom and love to pass it on

GabriellaG54 Sat 30-Mar-19 09:47:36

Yeah...great.
If £50 could get us out of the EU I'd gladly give that 100 x over but it won't.
I expect we're all doing our own thing today and enjoying the sunshine and our families.
What's that saying about not worrying about things you can't change...?
Here's to a good (or better) weekend for all of us.
I've had my run, showered and had brekky. Now going shopping and lunch with my OH. All good news.
grin
