But you were struggling before these latest rises weren’t you? So does your business pay council tax and not business rates? Where I live many small businesses are suffering because of rises in business rates which are set by central government I thought.

Our small business is struggling under our Labour controlled council who has just raised our already extortionate rent by 20% and my council tax by 5.9% . The greedy swines are still paying some of the highest salaries in the country to their executives though !

Correct me if I’m wrong gilly but I thought your small business was really struggling under this Government?

We desperately need change but JC is not it !

Corbyn is not leader of a centrist party , not a left of centre party , and we need a left of centre party back.

I have said this before. I am not a "Corbyn supporter" or even a member of the Labour Party but we need to counteract the decimation to this country created by the Super-rich clique who have taken over the Conservative Pary.

Austerity was merely a vehicle to make them even richer by taking from the poor and almost poor. The middle-income people will be next if they get their way. They are close to destroying our ability to run our communities by keeping local authorities short of money; they are close to destroying our care system and anything else they can treat like a factory and privatise, and they are close to destroying the NHS all because the Conservatives allowed them to apply a self-serving ideology. The Tories need a period in opposition and we need a swing back to centrist politics and it could well take a Corbyn government to do that as we have gone so far the other way.

Millions would benefit from Jeremy Corbyn government Many people and Labour members desperately want an end to austerity,not an economic nessessity, cuts to vital public services, councils, low wages. He has good polices that people need, a costed manifesto. We are one of the richest economies We can afford to do all these things and more. Billions are given in tax cuts to big corporations instead of sharing a fairer society, people are starving massive rise in food banks 600 people died on the street last year. So when a man with integrity a peace campaigner anti racist all his life who can't be bought a socialist who wants to change things for the better you understand why more people especially the young are joining labour and wanting socialist government for the many. Don't believe the right wing newspapers owned by billionaires who don't pay tax here that's how they want it to stay so smear Corbyn and why they back the Tories. I am a Corbynista

Totally agree all the above and yes urmstrongran I don’t think for a minute he thought he would win the leadership or wants it. As you say far too much reality and hard work rather then protest and whimsical ideas, that’s why he’s been so appalling.

In the face of this appalling inept Tory government the opposition should be soaring in these elections.

What do you mean, he mustn't be questioned or criticised? He is continually criticised, both on Gransnet and in the mainstream media. It is unusual to see such a level of criticism from the msm of a party leader - even a Labour one - who isn't in the position of leading the country.

When some people criticised May, several people defended her. What is the difference between that and people defending Corbyn?

Corbyn to me is a 72y old ‘protestor’ activist. Not a credible PM. I’m not even sure he wants to be one - too much like hard work! I bet he steps down before a GE.
