DE contributes to the Brexitcentral website founded by leading lights from Vote Leave and the Tax Payers Alliance - both of which have a slight problem over funding and transparency so yes - anything on their website is well worth taking seriously ?

In the referendum NI voted solidly to remain, as I said the present arrangements suit them well. As in Westminster it’s the politicians who are the problem

David, or anyone else, why are the public in France, Ukraine, the U.K., and probably the USA, and most likely several other countries too, why are they ‘frustrated’ with mainstream politics?

I do wonder about some of the posts on this thread. Whatever happens with a vote for our MEPs, unless something happens in parliament, the maths will be the same and the issues will be the same. Farage will not have any real power other than to annoy the other EU countries.

This has all been about a potential split within the Conservative Party - three years of it. It's no good saying the Labour Party is split too, they are not in power so can affect very little. Change UK are talking up their candidates for the European elections but whatever happens that will not change the numbers in the HoC. The country is still split roughly 50/50 and swings a little one way and then a little the other.

We still do not know what there is a real majority "for" and please don't say leave. That is at least as splintered a view as the Tories have of their own party. We still have nothing definite except May's deal which does not have a majority nor does it look like she can move enough to provide a compromise.

Moving on, this morning I overheard a speaker in our library addressing a group of WI members. There was a lively discussion about the abject failure of MPs to deliver Brexit and the emergence of the Brexit Party. It was heartening to hear the support for Nigel Farage and their curiosity about the Brexit Party. I was longing to join in but then a trolley of coffee was wheeled in and the door of the meeting room closed.

These women (many were Grandmothers I'd wager, many were younger women) were in agreement that the present two party system we have just doesn't work.

Perhaps the only place Farage gets a bashing is on Gransnet? He has a lot of support here too though...

oh yes, thats right, this is of course the only place where people express their dislike of NF and his ideas.
