Head teacher at Anderton County Primary school has been threatened because the school issuing the Outsider books. Jess Philips is the local MP, she attended today to support the school and was told by one protester that those who support the use of the books were islamophobic. I'm in support of the schools, the books and Jess Philips.

If it makes no sense to you, how do you expect children to comprehend? Why do you think these parents and lesbian feminist are so upset about all of this?

Again, LGBTQ+ as a movement is split, Google cotton ceiling!

Some people believe a lesbian is a same sex attracted person, two xx chromosome females.

Some people (Andrew Moffat teaching No Outsiders) believe a lesbian is a same gender attracted person, one xx chromosome person with an xy chromosome person or two xy chromosome people who feel like women, that a Mummy can be xx chromosome or xy chromosome and that biology is a social construct. These people are apparently queer.

Right that makes no sense to me at all. Does it to you? confused

DoesAnyoneKnow Tue 21-May-19 13:56:53

Andrew Moffat is teaching children that people are born in the wrong body as fact rather than a belief some people share. Andrew Moffat and queer people believe males with xy chromosomes can be a lesbian or Mummy because biology is a social construct and gender is all about feelings.

Bodied!!!

Mycatisahacker Tue 21-May-19 13:48:36

Can someone please explain what is a male bodies lesbian!

Fennel Tue 21-May-19 13:42:06

re France - the Govt. schools are secular, but there are many Catholic-run 'private' schools. Much cheaper than private schools in the UK.
Also some Muslim and Jewish schools.

The language is baffling to adults, imagine being taught this in year one!

But that isn't what is happening, is it. I don't think it enhances any argument to ... to be quite so economical with the truth.

Mycatisahacker Tue 21-May-19 13:29:16

Sorry male bodied lesbians!!!

Aye!!

Mycatisahacker Tue 21-May-19 13:28:02

Well I thought we weren’t supposed to use the term queer any more so I have learned something. wink

Urmstongran Tue 21-May-19 13:17:34

I feel as though I’m living in a parallel universe ....
?

Mycatisahacker Tue 21-May-19 13:10:11

I have to say I would prefer the French experience of secular schools and I would also abolish head covering in children under 11 too.

But another thread

Miep1 Tue 21-May-19 12:03:07

France was great when I lived there. Totally secular schools!

DoesAnyoneKnow Tue 21-May-19 11:59:37

I understand some of you believe in being born in the wrong body, it's a shame that some don't accept other people don't share that belief.

The language is baffling to adults, imagine being taught this in year one!

Are you happy for key stage one children to be taught as fact that these make up one part of a two Mummy couple? These are the types of relationships that Andrew Moffat is teaching.

I think Queer Theory is more accurately called Queer Theology. DoesAnyoneKnow

There is a great breadth of thinking that comes together under this heading but they can all agree on one thing. They are right and others are wrong. I have to say it sort of makes me feel sick to see how religions can be so perverted from their thoughtful, original stance.

JP now on JO’B

Fennel Tue 21-May-19 11:39:12

Just one point, and I'm only going to continue reading this very good thread.
IMO religion is NOT only to be kept in the home. It should cover all situations in our lives in the outside world, eg finances, agriculture, social welfare, plus education.
But that's a subject for another thread.

I've always been open about facts with my children so when, aged about 10 my elder daughter asked me how gay men had sex ( her friends had prompted her to ask me because ' I was the only mum who would not be embarrassed to give an honest answer!'). They knew about men and women so were struggling to work out what they did! I spoke truthfully. I think the best age to give information is when children show an interest.

Mycatisahacker Tue 21-May-19 11:23:53

I agree I have always admired Jess and she’s a proud Brummie too!

Mycatisahacker Tue 21-May-19 11:23:19

But did that bloke really say that Maryeliza good grief if so.

whywhywhy Tue 21-May-19 11:15:42

Jess Phillips would get my vote any date. She is amazing for standing up to them. I'm glad that she pointed out that many of the people protesting did not even have children at that school! And what where all those old blokes doing hanging around the entrance to the school anyway? I bet none of them were grand parents.

DoesAnyoneKnow Tue 21-May-19 11:14:49

The Q that's been added to LGBTQ+ is queer, not everyone believes in queer theory.

Some lesbians don't believe in souls so don't believe male bodied people can be lesbians.

Some people from established faiths don't believe souls are in the wrong bodies, so that also don't believe in queer theory which is what Andrew Moffat is teaching.

DoesAnyoneKnow Tue 21-May-19 11:11:18

The two Mummies Moffat is teaching about may not be two biological women.

maryeliza54 Tue 21-May-19 11:10:54

I’m even more baffled now.

maryeliza54 Tue 21-May-19 11:10:02

James O’Brien dealing with this atm - has just ranted ( quite rightly) about ‘women being created for men’s pleasure’

DoesAnyoneKnow Tue 21-May-19 11:09:32

My point is you have some lesbians saying they are same sex attracted and that they don't want a male body or believe in souls in wrong bodies and you have others believing these women are wrong.

Then you have these queer theory advocates like Moffat teaching this in schools.

You have a clash of queer theory believers against others.
