This poem just about sums it up for me today.

Yes, she's resigned. But the nasty, vindictive vitriol coming from so many people this morning is unworthy of the rest of us.

Poor woman. She did her best. She worked so hard and for so long, without any useful help from the rest of them. And now all people can do is kick her when she's down.

Personally I think the whole country should give her the biggest and best bunch of flowers possible, and say THANK YOU FOR TRYING SO HARD!

Now let the vitriol continue....

She should have got real advice from other parties ? Which party ?

Libs said - remain

Greens said - remain

UKIP said - leave

BREXIT said - leave

SNP said - we want out of U.K. remain

CHANGE U.K. said - a second referendum

Labour said - a GE , we are in, out, maybe ,

Anniebach

Annie are you ok, are you ok Annie?
You got it spot on.
It was a case of Hobson's choice.

trisher Sun 26-May-19 20:12:50

Rather a simplification Annie and certainly not the opinions that were expressed by the parties 3 years ago when the debate began. Arguably they have all been pushed into their present positions by the inability of Mrs May to include them in any sort of negotiation. And in fact Brexit didn't exist when the negotiations were on-going.

Brilliant post Annibach

Still laughing. Told OH, he thinks it's hilarious, too.
Thank you.

Bridgeit Sun 26-May-19 20:28:42

Paddyann , I think what you have stated would have applied to whom ever may have been in Government.
In my opinion the disaster was in the leave vote, a backwards move IMO.

Bridgeit Sun 26-May-19 20:30:29

Gonegirl, surely you are not wanting to disband Gransnet,
Perhaps a lighter subject may (perhaps not May ) would be more appealing .

Anniebach Sun 26-May-19 20:31:19

trisher you are claiming the Libs, Greens, SNP, were not supporting remain 3 years ago ? UKIP was not supporting leave 3 years ago?

Anniebach Sun 26-May-19 20:34:47

I don’t mind being told to shut up or keep quiet, I do mind the f word addressed to me .

I feel so sorry for Theresa May - she was handed a poisoned chalice. I think David Cameron should come back as Prime Minister to face the consequences of his act of supreme political arrogance in calling the Brexit referendum in the first place.
