The poll was carried out by YouGov and the anti-racism group Hope Not Hate as part of a survey that is measuring the scale of Islamophobia in the governing party and found that a similar number of Tories were in favor of putting limits on the number of Muslims entering the country.

There are many who believe that Margaret Hodge should be deselected and a Labour Party MP for her above actions, and that includes me.

Had she had carried that out in a commercial company she would have incurred disciplinary action against her, and undoubtedly dismissed.

At last GrannyGravy13 we have an acceptance that racism exists in both of Britains main political parties. So, why the instance on that discussion being restricted to just one of those parties in this thread.

If this forum is to have any meaningful debate in regard to racism, let it be on all aspects of that subject, and not just one organisation or sector within our society.

Where your point falls flat on it's face is there was a thread called ' Islamophobia in the Conservative Party ' to name just one.

You are a prevalent poster against the Conservative Party and Conservative individual MP's on the ' 'copious ' anti Tory threads. Along with other posters who like yourself feel the Labour Party should be somehow be out of bounds for debate, ( a case of ' Do as I say not do as I do ) when the thread subject is the Labour Party I have to ask why you cannot accept ALL political parties are debatable on GN whether we as individuals like it or not.

Given antisemitism in the Labour Party has been discussed on GN for 3 years and it is as current an issue to date I think it warrants to be kept in focus . Islamophobia in the Tory Party equally if and when evidence is provided should be debated too. As for ' political point scoring ' that can take various forms .."

There is a distinct lack of people prepared to discuss antisemitism in Labour and many who deny it is even a remote possibility , perhaps , as you say, they are hiding their prejudices on the subject

POGS, could you point me to where I have objected to the Labour Party being mentioned in a "Conservative Party thread", as I cannot recall doing that.

In regard to your above rehash of posts previously made again makes the point that no formal enquiry has been held or even began in the Tory Party regarding accusations of Islamophobia/racism, and until there is such an enquiry, those accusations remain as that.

Therefore, no one can go beyond making " accusations" until such an enquiry is concluded. However, not holding on enquiry and trying to "sweep the racism in the Tory Party under the carpet" is exactly what the executive in the Conservative Party want and have been doing in recent times despite all the evidence that racism is widespread in that party.

I've no idea about any Hindu preacher, but I do know that that beacon of human rights An Sang Suu Kyi has behaved shamefully on the subject of the persecution of the Rohingya people! A disapointment to say the least!
