Actually if I had continued I would have gone on to say that I also believe in a two state solution. I based my observations on precisely that; observation. I have had many conversions over the years with pro Palestinians who do not believe that Israel should exist , that it is perfectly ok if every Israeli is murdered or is forced to leave their homeland. I based my observations on the fact that many people decide that they have to choose a side and therefore the other side is the enemy. It is also the case that some people take the view that my enemy's enemy is my friend., It seems to me that this is where the whole Celtic/Palestine, Rangers/Israel stance comes from. The childishness to which I refer is deciding that a person has to back one side almost in the manner of choosing a football team. There are so many people who enthusiastically support one side in anything and consequently decide to hate the opposition. FWIW I may be pro Israel but I don't feel that I have to hate Palestine. I have actually met both Israelis and Palestinians I would suggest that both sides are to a certain extent trapped and afraid. . I have met Israelis desperate for peace and exactly the opposite and the same applies to Palestinians . It is possible to be pro Israel and also believe in a two state solution.
