"As his jumbo jet came into Stansted, Mr Trump took to social media and said: 'Sadiq Khan, who by all accounts has done a terrible job as Mayor of London, has been foolishly 'nasty' to the visiting President of the United States, by far the most important ally of the United Kingdom. He is a stone cold loser who should focus on crime in London, not me'.

He added: 'Khan reminds me very much of our very dumb and incompetent Mayor of NYC, de Blasio, who has also done a terrible job - only half his height."

How could he say that?! Especially when just entering the UK!

Is he bonkers? That's just not normal.

I enjoyed Camilla's wink
Go gal!

Gonegirl Mon 03-Jun-19 19:15:56

grin

Oh dear, the insulters are out in force.

trisher Mon 03-Jun-19 18:54:26

I think if I was Melania I would like a little clutch bag instead of a big blonde wind bag.

Gonegirl Mon 03-Jun-19 17:11:10

I think they are both nervous. Who wouldn't be?

Gonegirl Mon 03-Jun-19 17:10:38

Shame his resting face is quite so grumpy. Can't blame him for that though. Mine is.

Gonegirl Mon 03-Jun-19 17:08:05

I wonder if Melania might be better with a little clutch bag, like Kate and Camilla hold. Then she woudn't have to have her arms quite so stiffly by her side. She looked quite sweet in the abbey at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with her hands clasped in front.

She's doing a grand job though.

whywhywhy Mon 03-Jun-19 16:48:34

You asked if he is bonkers, well yes he is! This seems to be the state of the world leaders at the moment.

Elvive Mon 03-Jun-19 16:45:47

What do you understand by the term political correctness?

JenniferEccles Mon 03-Jun-19 16:14:17

He and Prince Phillip might get on quite well as Phillip is another one who doesn't adhere to any ridiculous political correctness.

NanaandGrampy Mon 03-Jun-19 15:49:18

The man is a completely laughable muppet with no sense of dignity - the worlds gone to hell in a handbasket when someone like him can get elected .

Elvive Mon 03-Jun-19 15:28:34

Yes Griselda, indeed there are. Women are persecuted in the USA.

Riverwalk Mon 03-Jun-19 15:16:19

I think he's behaving very well.

It's come to something when this is said about the President of the United States making a State visit! grin

Gonegirl Mon 03-Jun-19 15:14:33

Yes I thought that. (Prince Phillip) Perhaps he's too old for most of it. Expect he will go to the banquet though.

Fennel Mon 03-Jun-19 15:12:46

Noticeable that they haven't let Prince Philip loose on him.
I would love to see those 2 together!
I wonder if he'll be at the special dinner?
Our Queen is wonderful, always keeping her composure.

Gonegirl Mon 03-Jun-19 15:08:30

Nah. Probably not respect. I just quite like him in some ways. smile

Griselda Mon 03-Jun-19 15:05:57

Elvive
I wasn't thinking of any country in particular - there are plenty of countries where people are persecuted for their religion or have fewer rights because they are women.

Elvive Mon 03-Jun-19 15:01:26

Do you think Trump is worthy of respect?

Gonegirl Mon 03-Jun-19 14:41:26

Your lunch sounds very nice Callistemon. I had cheese and cucumber sarnies, followed by a jam sarnie. Fit for a Queen that.

[thumbs up emoji] (hint hint to HQ)

Gonegirl Mon 03-Jun-19 14:39:22

So, they get lunch, afternoon tea, AND a banquet tonight! Hope Melania has got an elasticated waistband! shock

trisher Mon 03-Jun-19 14:36:50

Sadiq Khan permitted a blimp of him in a bikini to be flown as well. He just has a sense of humour!

crystaltipps Mon 03-Jun-19 14:05:38

Every newspaper has political cartoons which are definitely not respectful. Maybe we should ban them .

GrannyGravy13 Mon 03-Jun-19 13:53:21

Whatever my views are of Donald Trump or Khan the “baby balloon” is extremely disrespectful to the office of POTUS

Callistemon Mon 03-Jun-19 13:46:51

Just had mine too - I bet they had something more than hardboiled egg salad followed by a yogurt! and water.

I saw the BBC coverage and two women were interviewed about their opinions on Trump - one was American or Canadian, residing here, the other an older British woman. And, behind them, a man was busy filming them all on his mobile!
He didn't look like American Secret Service (or MI5/6)

Gonegirl Mon 03-Jun-19 13:34:54

They are having their lunch now. As I have also, been having mine. smile
