I remember maybe even years ago a thread about people who are downright aggressive or rude and attempt to justify themselves by saying they are “telling it like it is” or “not afraid to speak their mind”
I dare say Oswald Mosley was unafraid to speak his mind, or Josef Stalin or Robert Mugabe.

Rude, deliberately provocative, crass, undiplomatic., and what is that about size? ....I’m sure there are plenty more words to use.

He certainly says what he thinks of anything and anyone. Let's hope he doesn't stand in front of the Queen again as he did before.

I am old enough to remember real fascists. When I walked into the American cemetery in Normandy I, not normally a weeper, just burst into tears.

I also share his scepticism about man-made 'global warming', considering the fact that our planet has gone through spells of warming and cooling for the past 2,000 years.

Isn't he correct in his desire to protect his borders, to have a say in who does or doesn't enter the US? Of course he is.

We all know that he can be rude, arrogant and bullish but that doesn't mean we should automatically dismiss everything he says.

I really cringe at the thought of all the inevitable 'rent-a-mob' demonstrations that we will see over the next few days.

Well, Trump said that the Mayor of London is as bad as the Mayer of NY. He isnt wrong. As for childish or ill mannered. Nothing beats that stupid ballon you all are so clearly in favour of.

I hope Trump continues to tell it like it is. The british have lost their sense and good manners, they deserve what they get now.

I am ashamed of this country and those who want to support hate a visiting dignitary like this. Its a new low for Britain and sometimes someone who has more guts has to tell you what you are like ( some of us already know anyway).

When I said a few days ago that we should just sit back and let Donald Trump show himself up in his tweets, even I didn't think he'd do it on the way in.

I have this picture in my mind of his diplomats in the other section of Air Force 1 (if there's any room left once his brood were seated) whispering to each other in despair:

John: "What's he doing?"

Jim: "Tweeting."

John: "Yikes! I hope it's about the Mexicans or the Iranians or the Koreans ... as long as it's not about any of the Brits for the next three days we'll be OK."

Jim (having glanced at the TV newsfeed): "Uh Oh...."

I agree with you too Jennifer, as soon as it was reported I said to my husband that as Head of State he should have a bit more dignity. If I were Trump I would totally ignore all vile abuse Khan is putting out. That is the dignified way to behave.

Not a big fan of Trumps, but at least what he says he will do he does,and Khan, well, ;;;;;; no words really,

Although I completely agree with Trump about what a terrible Mayor Khan is, it was incredibly undiplomatic of him to tweet that just as he was arriving on British soil.

I do like the fact that he is unafraid to speak his mind, but what terrible, insensitive timing.

I know as write this I will be shouted down, and I’m not a Trump fan by any means, but his childish tweet was in response to an equally childish tweet by Khan. They should both grow up and be respectful of the office they hold. I’ve no time for either of them whilst they keep up this infantile behaviour. It’s interesting that the news is mainly reporting only Trump’s tweet, except for the one occasion when Khan’s tweet was reported as well. I prefer to see balanced news and unless both tweets are reported, then the news is not balanced.

I think the whole concept of him on a plane tweeting is beyond belief actually. What on earth have we come to?

He says it because he is an oik, whose behaviour does not reflect the office he holds.
Exactly the same can be said about Sadiq Khan.
