Funny how so many Brexiters are so keen to 'take back control' and throw off the 'yoke' of the EU but then are happy to throw themselves into the arms of the WTO. At least we have a say in EU regulations, we have representation,. What say do we have in WTO regs? None.

I wish I understood what the heck is going on. I voted Brexit, but certainly didn’t vote for this mess. I had assumed they would have had a plan ready to keep our economy safe. Agriculture while everyone makes cracks about farmers being wealthier than they say, is hard. When prices are low, or bad weather affects animals, there are high suicide rates of male farmers, if there are issues post Brexit it will hit them hard. My family going way back we’re market gardeners and it’s a tough life. Heartbreaking. Glad my husband has a good pension and this won’t effect us too much.

My heart goes out to the farmers who export most of their produce to the EU.

Nobody voted for a No Deal Brexit. Nobody voted to undo the Good Friday agreement and risk violence in Ireland again. This is not 'The will of the people'. I'm fed up with people telling me I'm undemocratic because I think leaving will be a disaster. This situation is not about democracy it is about the Tory party tearing itself apart and the rest of us are going to go down with it.

The suicide rate amongst farmers is alarmingly high, the combination of long hours and isolation is just too much for some. Add to that any kind of profit is very hard to achieve and great many farms are supported by cash a wife earns. Livestock farmers in particular are badly affected because they are tied 7 days a week tending animals, it’s better if you only have crops, at least you have some time to work elsewhere.

Unfortunately UK farmers suicide numbers were high long before Brexit, Foot & Mouth, CJD along with the controversy over GM crops.
We are eating less meat overall, we have been told that dairy products are bad for cholesterol.

Everything in the UK is not the result of a referendum in 2016 (and yes Mr.Gravys friend of over 35 years is a farmer, so we have an inside point of view)

When we leave without a deal in October, by this time next year we will have had 7 months of chaos, food shortage, medicine shortage and a contracting economy, together with many of our businesses having disappeared.

The Tories will be to blame and those who voted leave.

We must never forget that.

I detested the woman and her policies, but recognise that Thatcher was one of the best Tory PMs.

One thing is for sure brexit would never have happened under her watch.
