Well, there's 10 left in the race to be our next Prime Minister and voting starts tomorrow.

Who would you LIKE to be the next leader of the Tory party?

And who would you BET on?

Elvive Thu 13-Jun-19 13:41:22

Why are certain people so horribly smug, its awful.

Neilspurgeon0 Thu 13-Jun-19 13:47:50

I voted leave
I am guessing BJ will get the PM position and get us (one way or another) where I want us to be - independent but I rather suspect that Scotland and possibly Wales and (if we are very lucky) London will strive for independence very soon after we leave so that finally HOORAY we can get a country that I want to live in rather than one which is how the BBC/Channel Four/Five want us to pretend to want to live in.

He is known as a liar and a cheat who cares only for himself.

The brood of "love" children whom he leaves in his wake indicates a complete absence of morality, and a lack of intelligence that he cannot buy and use a condom. He and Trump are all of a piece when it comes to attitude to women. And this is the person who is likely to be the next PM.

What has brought us to this pass?

I liked Andrea Leadsom but she's out. Glad Esther McvVey is out too though! Think Boris will get it. Boris in no. 10 & Trump in the US! Doesn't bear thinking about! The world has gone mad!

jura2 Thu 13-Jun-19 14:01:19

un be lie va ble sad sad sad

how can they trust an inveterate, hypocritical, turncoat, insensitive, bumbling, dangerous fool (was going to write t***) like Boris sad

Glammy57 Thu 13-Jun-19 14:01:34

If it has to be any of that lot, Rory would be my choice. Blojo is a male slut and should stick to HIGNFY! Corbyn is my man, come the reveloution!

Tillybelle Thu 13-Jun-19 14:02:19

GracesGran
Many see Boris as having an early election, wiping out Farage and therefore letting in Corbyn

Oooohhhh....... maybe Boris

Tillybelle Thu 13-Jun-19 14:04:03

jura2
I have just spent several minutes trying to read your

"un be lie va ble"

in French!!

Caramelkeg Thu 13-Jun-19 14:05:50

I'd like Boris because
a) He'll deliver a proper Brexit
(I think).
b) He was a good Mayor of London, better than the tosspot we've got now.
c) I fancy him a bit.

Tillybelle Thu 13-Jun-19 14:08:57

Luckygirl.

??This is the age of the Narcissist

GillT57 Thu 13-Jun-19 14:13:25

caramelkeg just how was he a good mayor of London? Fritters away millions on vanity projects, buys water cannon....?

Tillybelle Thu 13-Jun-19 14:14:30

Caramelkeg. you said "I fancy him a bit."

I say,
again
??This is the age of the Narcissist

It's how he wins votes. Like him or hate him, he has charisma. He is the one whom people know, show all the candidates to a broad spectrum of people and ask which ones do you a) know by name, b) recognise in order of certainty.
Boris will be the one best known.
Psychology research shows the most popular people are the "most salient". In other words the ones best known.

It applies to things as well as people which is why sub-liminal advertising was banned in the UK.

I have just read Rory Stewart’s book “The Marches”. It is quite excellent, thoughtful and touching particularly about his relationship with his father. I am in the middle of his book “Occupational Hazards” about his time working in Iraq. He is a highly experienced and compassionate person and I would love to see him as leader.

quizqueen Thu 13-Jun-19 14:20:43

Dominic is the best Brexiteer but I expect Boris will get the most votes. The MPs are threatening all sorts of things to try and stop him leaving the EU in October, they have obviously learnt nothing from the last two election results. All the PM, whoever he is ( all the women have gone now), has to do - is to not ask for an extension because Parliament will NOT ( I will use capitals if I want to) come to a consensus of an agreement over a deal and the EU will NOT renegotiate this side of us leaving.

Nvella Thu 13-Jun-19 14:21:28

The only good thing about Boris Johnson getting the job is it will be satisfying blaming him when the country goes down the toilet.
Otherwise they are all appalling though Rory Stewart at least seems semi human

Grany Thu 13-Jun-19 14:27:37

None of these Tories should be PM

Have you read what Polly Toynbee wrote sums up this past decade perfectly realistically. Don't want more of the same with a Tory government.

muffinthemoo. It affects my confidence in a person too, Muffin. I think it is a very good indication of a man's integrity. How many womanising men have we known? I bet between us all we have had to put up with a lot! I had to cope with the first Headmaster when I began Teaching in the early 1970s. Then in the mid 1980s I was treated even worse by the clergyman husband of a friend. There are many of these lascivious, conceited men who think they are God's gift to women around. I think their sexual immorality speaks volumes about their whole character. I am not being flippant the I keep saying

"This is the age of Narcissism"

To me, Boris epitomises the layman's description of a narcissistic person.

Tillybelle Thu 13-Jun-19 14:30:03

sorry - the should be "when I keep saying "
why does 'when' keep saying 'the'?

Rowantree Thu 13-Jun-19 14:36:15

Calistemon guilty as charged: 'twas a typo, of course!
Fat arthritic fingers grin

leeds22 Thu 13-Jun-19 14:37:15

Boris will get it and the country will 'go to hell in a highcart'. We are the laughing stock of Europe and it will only get worse with that buffoon in charge.

GillT57 Thu 13-Jun-19 14:40:04

quizqueen maybe they are finding it tricky to get Brexit through because a few mps do realise that a substantial percentage of the electorate did not vote for it. Those of us who voted remain are also entitled to representation you know.

Rowantree Thu 13-Jun-19 14:40:05

Tillybelle well, quite!
He's just been after that top job for a long time now - think we all are aware of that.

His entrails (note, correct spelling this time) will be first to be eviscerated and boiled after the Revolution....

Luckygirl Thu 13-Jun-19 14:42:52

Not sure if this image will work....

Luckygirl Thu 13-Jun-19 14:43:16

It did!
