Most of the Conservative MPs are intelligent , I must suppose. I am not being sarcastic, I truly dont know why they want Johnson.

lemon give Johnson time. It’s at least a month before his coronation, plenty of time to get bored and move on to the next shag.

Anniebach Sat 22-Jun-19 09:17:38

Johnson fans will support him regardless just as Corbyn fans
support him regardless

crystaltipps Sat 22-Jun-19 09:14:49

Lets face it the media loves a bit of dirt to fling and with Boris they’ll probably dig up quite a lot of it. I’m sure his fans will dismiss it, whilst meanwhile devouring every bit of dirt on Corbyn or any other opposition politicians.

Grammaretto Sat 22-Jun-19 08:34:30

My DS and I had a private bet. He said, before this latest drama, it was inevitable that Boris would be next PM. I said nothing was inevitable and he could stuff up or........
Yay. Who's in the lead now??
If it wasn't such a tragedy it would be funny.

lemongrove Sat 22-Jun-19 08:28:12

Everybody is assuming that Johnson will win the vote, it rarely happens that the favourite is chosen, so Hunt has every chance.
I expect every PM has the odd ding dong with their wife btw just as GNers will do.It’s called being human.
If he does become PM, the latest girlfriend may not make it to Downing St anyway.

I don't think it matters what Boris does, his supporters will still think he's the moon and stars. All else is, after all, nothing but project fear....

crystaltipps Sat 22-Jun-19 05:57:17

Maxdecatt, you made the point that being out of the EU would mean a decline in tourism and a decline in carbon emissions as we wouldn’t be travelling to Europe or buying stuff from them. You also said the Green Party don’t want clean air as they support the EU, and that we should all support Boris as being out of the EU means cleaner air. I challenged those weak, unsupported, erroneous arguments -which point did I miss?

maxdecatt Sat 22-Jun-19 00:05:21

Crystalips, you have a knack ....of missing the point.

maxdecatt Sat 22-Jun-19 00:01:57

How much did the newspaper offer the neighbour to listen to eavesdrop on next door?

Caledonai14 Fri 21-Jun-19 23:43:51

This reminds me a wee bit of the issues surrounding Charles Kennedy (except that Charles was an honourable, lovely man who was one of the best politicians to come out of Scotland). People hushed up and covered up for years, but in the end he needed honesty and help.

We are all entitled to private lives, but if you can't avoid spilling red wine on the sofa and tinking with your partner to the point where a neighbour became concerned, the very day you have won through against two major rivals and should be very happy and smug, how are you going to cope with pressure of the deepening crisis the country is in?

Boris's team have been doing him and us no favours keeping him under wraps.

General election now.

Callistemon Fri 21-Jun-19 23:38:49

The soundproofing between the flats can't be very good.

I think if a woman - or a man - was in danger of being the victim of domestic violence, a concerned neighbour might call the police. But not record the incident and call the Guardian!

Urmstongran Fri 21-Jun-19 23:31:28

Well I think it’s a bit concerning to think that a neighbour has recorded an argument going on next door that is so clear, you can hear every word.

Nothing wrong in calling the police if they were genuinely concerned but once the police have clarified they found no concerns, what then exactly was the motive for contacting the press and passing on a private recording of someone in their own home, along with the crime number? Very strange neighbour behaviour.

Who was the neighbour? Gove? Hunt?

??

Callistemon Fri 21-Jun-19 23:30:27

He got red wine on her sofa shock
I don't blame her for shouting!!

Callistemon Fri 21-Jun-19 23:28:27

You have to laugh, though, it was reported on ITV News that the neighbour had to turn down her tv - presumably so that she could hear the row properly and make a good recording!

If my neighbours were rowing I'd probably turn the tv up, not stand with a glass to the wall or recording it.

EV - Mrs Merton pun! grin

Caledonai14 Fri 21-Jun-19 23:17:57

Trump might look on Boris a little less dewy-eyed now. He's death on alcohol.

Please can we have a proper general election, combined with a simultaneous confirmatory vote on Brexit so that people can have a democratic say in who runs the country as well as a view on Brexit?

And... if possible, could we have proportional representation so a very small group of public school wallies don't make the decisions for those of us in the real world.

Pretty please.

Anniebach Fri 21-Jun-19 22:52:26

She was recorded screaming ‘get off me’ ‘get out of my flat’

The newspapers lead with it

EllanVannin Fri 21-Jun-19 22:49:05

That's the end of him then ? He's 'orrible ! Whatever attracted the woman to him ? ( a Mrs Merton pun )

Anniebach Fri 21-Jun-19 22:35:38

A domestic at Johnsons flat, he and his new love ,police were
called, a recording was made by a neighbour

Whitewavemark2 Fri 21-Jun-19 22:29:34

I’m beginning to think that his efforts to become the next PM is stuttering before it’s begun.

He refused the first debate, was rubbish in the second and now declined to appear in the third. Hunt will have to talk to himself.

Gonegirl Fri 21-Jun-19 22:17:17

It was a domestic. He got red wine on her sofa. grin Wouldn't you scream at the bugger?

Nobody's business but theirs.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 21-Jun-19 22:11:36

I would have thought that the people in the U.K. have every right to know of the sort of person the future PM is.

Only the rich can do this

So now Boris Johnson is considering applying for an injunction so that the recording of himself and Carrie Symonds arguing early this morning can't be released.

If it's nothing but a smear as his supporters are saying, what's the problem @BorisJohnson? Hmmmm

Whitewavemark2 Fri 21-Jun-19 21:55:34

This

Boris Johnson “get off my fucking laptop”
Carrie Symonds “You just don’t care for anything because you’re spoilt. You have no care for money or anything.”

To the surprise of no one the Boris premiership is unravelling before it's begun ?

Whitewavemark2 Fri 21-Jun-19 21:32:32

And this

EXC: The Conservative Muslim chief has been expelled from the Tory Muslim group. Mohammed Amin tells me he has been expelled following an intervention by CCHQ because he criticised the 'moral integrity' of Boris Johnson:

suziewoozie Fri 21-Jun-19 21:28:38

No it’s not gossip - it happened. Not very edifying.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 21-Jun-19 21:23:56

Hunt probably can’t believe his luck. All he’s got to do is keep his nose clean and the Bozo will do the job for him.
