I agree with you Barmeyoldbat and Seiko70. I have only recently joined Gransnet and i'm afraid I won't be sticking around. It seems respect for each others views is in short supply here, never mind fruit and veg!! People should be able to air their views and differences of opinion without having insults hurled at them. Leo Smith at GridWatch has been monitoring the interconnector flows between Scotland and England via a National Grid link since December 2015 Callistemon. The evidence shows that it is pretty much a one-way journey of power from Scotland to England. Now if you wanted leverage once you were an independent country what would you be saying about your exports of electricity?

What a brilliant opportunity. Mental health and physical health improved by supporting/or growing our own produce. Everything eaten 'in season' reducing air/sea miles. Imported sugar and oils (some causing jungle clearance to produce) removed. Sugar reduction in food (unless we get our own sugar beet production up). Great opportunities for our own farmers!!

And all those people living in the thousands of Victorian workers' terraced houses with just a small back yard. Do you think a couple of grow bags could produce enough to feed a family?

Even if we do up agricultural production who is going to harvest it once the EU workers have stopped coming?

Where exactly is there going to be extra land to grow all this stuff? And who is going to farm it? How is it all going to be ready by 1 November?

So many petitions and nothing's happened. Current one asking for a 2nd referendum has just closed with the Gov saying no.

Watching tonight’s BBC News and it is crystal clear that a no deal Brexit is going to be suicidal.
Why are Boris and his cronies ( and actually the rest of them) so dead set on this catastrophic course?
Is it fear of losing face? A dangerous game of brinkmanship?

I have heard that Morrison's only buy meat from their own British farmers so maybe shop there for meat unless you can buy directly from farm shop as I often do. Hopefully we will have some deals ready to start on Nov 1st.

Bluebelle. Given how healthy we were with food rationing before think I will enjoy losing excess weight. Slimming World and Weight Watchers may have a drop in profits though, not living off the fat of the land. Away to dig over half my garden for veg come the Apocalypse.

I wonder why the Brexiters didn't promote the health inspiring aspect of food shortages and rationing during the campaign. Let's all return to wartime conditions, chuck out those washing machines, dishwashers, and every other convenience and return to beating carpets over the washing line. The exercise will do us good, build up those muscles

How about a return to most people (men at least) smoking?

We could start off by digging a hole in the ground and staying there overnight. I'm sure that would save on electricity.
