Petition to sign - RECALL PARLIAMENT NOW to prevent no deal Brexit

Article 50 can be revoked unilaterally at any time while we are still EU members. It does not require another referendum or general election.

It's not a stupid stunt and never was!, at the moment it is, thanks to our duplicitous MP's a fact of law, (article 50) which, whether people like it or not, they, and only they, including dear old J.C have agreed to! together with the withdrawal bill, which again all these self servers agreed to by a good majority! Nobody voted for deal or no deal, because no one was asked that question! To repeal article 50 would require another referendum or GE, to extend it would be yet again kicking that wretched can down the seemingly never ending road and necessitate one of the above. A GE almost certainly which Boris may well win, then bye, bye EU for certain! There's all to play for here and nothing is a certainty!

The Petition serves its purpose, even it Parliament cannot be officially recalled. You do know that many MPs have decided to meet anyway and have found a suitable venue - where they would continue to meet should Johnson dare pull that stupid stunt.

Parliament resits on September the 3rd.

The number of days, the process required to get Parliament to be recalled have never stacked up.

As for Revoking Article 50 Parliament recently voted by 184 to 293 against a motion to make revoking Article 50 the "default" position if the Commons fails to ratify a deal.

Brexit can be stopped by cancelling article 50, that can be done by passing a resolution in Parliament and the government and the EU have too accept it. That is the ruling of both our Supreme Court and the European Court. . It would cut through all of the crap

While I'm an ardent Remainer this petition is a waste of time simply it cannot be considered until parliament has returned even it reaches 100,000. Our best hope is that MP's revolt in the nations interest and force a new people's vote with a choice between Remain and a Hard Brexit pointing out just how damaging a hard Brexit is.

If Brexit does go ahead then if it is as bad as we think those responsible should be held to account.

Perhaps just cancel Brexit as being impractical like HS2.

The petition to recall parliament is just over 200 signatures off the 50,000 mark. That's halfway to being assured of a debate.

The reply which is due after 10,000 signatures is now over 4 days awaited.

I know many people think it is a waste of time as the politicians are all off on their jollies and looking towards the conference season, but as a peaceful, authorised, mark of protest at the situation we are in, it would be worth trying to get this to the 100,000 signatures.

Seeing all these upbeat, smirking Tories ignoring the realities and depth of the crisis, while life gets tougher and more expensive and uncertain for the rest of us, is truly the most appalling experience.

This is not taking back control.

POGS, for once we agree. It is the government that has to request the Speaker of the House of Commons to recall parliament, and I believe he would then have to request the Monarch in turn.

Even then having gained the Queen's agreement, a period of at least five days would have to be granted prior to Parliment assembling to allow MPs who may be out of the country to return.

I can see little point in carrying out all the above when by the time all the foregoing was completed the MPs would be within days of returning anyway.

POGS I suspect the point of the petition is not to recall parliament but to get a message across.

So, in summary, 550 MP's which is a very large majority aren't putting pressure on for a recall.
