You lost.
Get over it.

Dinahmo Thu 29-Aug-19 10:22:53

Someone on here has complained about remainers posting links and references to other documents. That's something leavers very rarely do. And the reason (IMO) is that leavers just believe and remainers are attempting to give facts and figures data to back up their statements.

Framilode Thu 29-Aug-19 10:21:53

For those who just want it over with I am sorry to disappoint but it won't be over for years. The trade negotiations will take years and most of us will probably be dead before the country has recovered to anything like the position it is in whilst we are still in the EU. But, hey, we'll have taken back control.

Greta Thu 29-Aug-19 10:17:51

I find the OP shameful. Its only aim is to stir and upset others; others who are already upset and worried. There was a poster some months ago who posted similar childish comments: andi (andy?). I wonder whether the clue is in
K andi nsky.

It would have been better to leave this OP well alone.

Dinahmo Thu 29-Aug-19 10:17:26

Kandinsky Why do you interpret the statement that "most remainers just want it over" as "most remainers want to leave"?

I've just looked at a summary of the polls which shows that for many months more people want to remain and more people think it wrong to leave the EU.

Jabberwok Thu 29-Aug-19 10:17:11

Sara65, I am truly sorry for all the worry this has brought you and your family and like callistemon I too believe these rights will be enshrined in UK law, and just wish, after three long weary years that we could get on with it and settle down!!smile

Callistemon Thu 29-Aug-19 10:15:57

Certainly Tony Benn was no advocate for the EU! Nor was Corbyn in a previous role.

Could it have something to do with Russia though?

Jabberwok Thu 29-Aug-19 10:09:00

I agree and these were the reasons I voted, after a lot of thought, to leave, but why are left wing politicians so enamoured?! Surely the culture of the EU flies in the face of left wing politics?!

Callistemon Thu 29-Aug-19 10:07:45

I believe that those rights will be enshrined in UK law, as thus has already been committed to trisher.

Sara65 Thu 29-Aug-19 10:04:51

Gillybob

We too face an uncertain future, a lot of our suppliers are in Germany, and although they have tried to make preparations for a no deal, we don’t really know where we are.

We are a small company, but five members of our family are dependent on it, plus another half a dozen young men with mortgages and families, and a few older part timers.

I voted remain, but I accept we’re leaving, just want to get on with it.

Callistemon Thu 29-Aug-19 10:01:31

Jabberwok an interesting list and some of the reasons why some of my (non-thick, non-racist) friends and one or two family members voted to leave.

They were all considerations for many of us but I think that i and many others voted remain for security and a case of being nervous of the unknown therefore 'better the devil you know' in an increasingly uncertain world.

No-one should be gloating, we should all be hoping for the best deal possible and an alliance in place of membership.

trisher Thu 29-Aug-19 09:53:38

Because Jabberwok the EU has for a long time kept the cause of human rights and justice for the ordinary working man alive and well in the UK. It isn't something those on the right want to see continue. They much prefer a model based on the survival of the fittest. The indications are that the EU will take action against tax evasion which is another thing they would prefer not to see. The Labour party sensibly realise that the only hope of keeping the hard won wages legislation and human rights the EU have given us is to stay in.

Today 08:48 Boosgran

I agree Boosgran.

This is a "horrible" thread and, as it's one aim was to personally insult some GN members I cannot imagine why GN have allowed it to continue - but here it is.

I imagine 'leavers' as a group will be referred to as a "swarm" or "vermin" at some point when the 'othering' is in full swing as even more filters are closed down and selective perception increases and, at that point, I guess you will still be seeing people as either Leavers or Remainers rather than individuals. And the only 'horrible' remarks you will see will come from those described as Remainers. I also expect you consider this a civilised thread, with a few exceptions - but never from Leavers.

Jabberwok Thu 29-Aug-19 09:46:48

What I can't understand is why the left is so enamoured by the EU?!! Surely it represents everything that they profoundly disapprove of: Capitalism, fat cats, gravy train, unaccountable expenses, jobs for the boys, the trashing of Greece, corruption, the list is endless! How do the left justify this and actually encourage it?!! JC has a life time of fighting against all of the above, and yet now embraces it?! Why?!!!

GracesGranMK3 Thu 29-Aug-19 08:32:14
I expect you will have plenty of company Kandinsky. You and and the people who would go and watch public hangings, floggings and stonings - oh and the ones cheering the man bringing home the "little piece of paper" before all that went pear-snapped. We all know know just how deeply offensive, not to say ignorant people can be even if we didn't know before so unreasonable? Well people can't be expected to fight deeply psychotic natures, can they?

I think this would count as an offensive post; I say 'think' because it is so garbled it is difficult to be clear about the point it is trying to make.

Violettham Thu 29-Aug-19 09:45:01

I voted remain because as I am very elderly I asked my adult children and grown up grandchildren what they preferred. They all wanted to remain. I am very sadden that so many do not consider that the younger members of a family who will be more affected than us older ones.

lemongrove Thu 29-Aug-19 09:31:20

????????

Lessismore Thu 29-Aug-19 09:29:45

I'm not, and I don't take orders from you.

Where are these accusations....it now turns out they are elsewhere,

what fun grin

GrannyGravy13 Thu 29-Aug-19 09:29:01

Lessismore,

Just because you haven't seen any of the vile insults to leave voters on GN, does not mean that they have not occurred. In most circumstances they are deleted swiftly by GNHQ.

lemongrove Thu 29-Aug-19 09:23:40

Do stop stirring the pot Less hmm

Lessismore Thu 29-Aug-19 09:21:29

Leavers have been subjected to years of disgusting abuse from remainers*maybe not on this forum*

So have they been " abused" here or not?

Have you been called an ignorant racist here....in which case did you report it?

Hot air, all of it.

growstuff Thu 29-Aug-19 09:13:25

Oh BlueBelle you'll be accused of being snide now!

BlueBelle Thu 29-Aug-19 09:10:40

barmyoldbat you ve said it for me what an unpleasant and very childish thread and it’s says more about the person who started it and those agreeing than it does about anything
Hideous and sadly so awful

growstuff Thu 29-Aug-19 09:09:37

I'm so sorry to hear that gillybob. Unfortunately, I expect your experience will be replicated up and down the country. I already know a number of people who have lost their jobs or have been relocated if they could speak German or French.

It's ironic really, because it's the ones who can speak foreign languages (the elite) and whose companies can afford to relocate, who will be OK in the end. It's the "little people" who won't have those choices and will lose their jobs … plus the businesses where they spend their money will struggle … and so it goes on.

gillybob Thu 29-Aug-19 09:00:22

I don’t want to make this personal Paddyann but I think our business will definitely suffer . Already a few of our customers have suspended proposed projects and our biggest customer has opened a new factory within the EU. We were asked to help move a lot of their plant but my DH refused on moral grounds as we know the U.K. lads so very well we just could not help them lose their jobs !

Bridgeit Thu 29-Aug-19 09:00:04

Quite simply Kandinsky, in answer to your question ( Thread title)no you are not being slightly unreasonable , you are being very unreasonable & not very insightful if the best comment you can come up with is - You lost, get over it-
I don’t think I need add anymore, your choice of 5 words says all that is needed for your viewpoint to be understood.
