You lost.
Get over it.

Barmeyoldbat Thu 29-Aug-19 08:59:45

This is an awful thread, all about gloating. I will continue to fight and support a decision to overturn a referendum that was won by so few votes. I have no intention of getting into any mud slinging on this forum.

Kandisky, you sound just like a child I pity you.

SpanielNanny LadyGracie

Well said. I do so agree with all you wrote.

Some people comment on here about immaturity, yet show little maturity themselves from looking back at comments they've made in the past.

The snide remarks abound on this thread. They're coming fast and strong !

Boosgran Thu 29-Aug-19 08:48:38

GGMK3 what a horrible post.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 29-Aug-19 08:45:40

gillybob, well said.

paddyann Thu 29-Aug-19 08:45:18

The UK HAD a "good deal" shame the people didn't understand that .Ihope your business wont be badly affected by Brexit Gilly .thank heavens we're retiring as a lot of our albums etc come from Italy ,it took a long time to sort out the higher VAT issues but the tarrifs will make Italian produce unviable now

DIVIDE AND RULE

growstuff Thu 29-Aug-19 08:44:27

One "side" (as you call it) has a reason to be angry. The other "side" doesn't. Their "side" won, but they still seem to be aggressive. Who knows why!

PS. I'm not ever accepting viewpoints, with which I profoundly disagree or accepting so-called facts which are plain wrong, LadyGracie, but that doesn't mean that I'm not grown up enough to accept that my viewpoint hasn't prevailed.

lemongrove Thu 29-Aug-19 08:43:47

Very well said Gilly ?

gillybob Thu 29-Aug-19 08:37:45

I voted Remain but sadly I was in the minority . We are leaving the EU whether we like it or not and personally I am glad BJ is “getting on with it” as I am fed up with the uncertainty and the nastiness surrounding it.

As far as I can see there was never a vote on leaving with or without a deal . The EU are not going to give in to our demands and we cannot just bend over and let them kick us, so if “no deal” is all that we have left, then “no deal” it will have to be. I can’t see the point of prolonging this agony (purely for political gain) any longer .

mcem Thu 29-Aug-19 08:32:49

Kandinsky I 'd like to read the information that shows the 'vast majority of Remainers feel as you claim.
growstuff and EV well said!

GracesGranMK3 Thu 29-Aug-19 08:32:14

I expect you will have plenty of company Kandinsky. You and and the people who would go and watch public hangings, floggings and stonings - oh and the ones cheering the man bringing home the "little piece of paper" before all that went pear-snapped. We all know know just how deeply offensive, not to say ignorant people can be even if we didn't know before so unreasonable? Well people can't be expected to fight deeply psychotic natures, can they?

LadyGracie Thu 29-Aug-19 08:19:42

There seems to be no acceptance of different viewpoints on Gransnet, so much anger on all sides.

EllanVannin Thu 29-Aug-19 08:18:32

On the contrary,Kandinsky, it's you Brexiteers who've acted in a racist manner by foregoing any freedom of movement concerning people of other countries being allowed here.

Think about it ! Border controls ? What's that about ? Remember the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie ? Do you really want this here ? Trump and his wall dividing Mexico and the USA ? Is that the sort of thing you hope for ?

The Peace Process ( Good Friday Agreement 1998 ) shattered in Northern Ireland ? The REAL threat of peace being shattered by a no-deal Brexit ? Is this what you wish for ?

Do you want our troops/police sent to NI ?
Like us in the NW, NI are being totally ignored by Westminster and there's no doubt that a no-deal Brexit without a backstop in NI is/will be cause for concern.

growstuff Thu 29-Aug-19 08:15:07

Dangerous? Really? shock

growstuff Thu 29-Aug-19 08:14:11

Who's stamping their feet? Who's taking out their anger because they're a loser?

It seems to me that some people are sore winners. Maybe some psychologist could explain why they seem to have such a victim complex. Maybe they're just very angry people who need to have a go at other people.

Can't say I know or am bothered and I'm mature enough to dismiss people who like to celebrate at other people's loss.

Firecracker123 Thu 29-Aug-19 07:58:10

Hear hear Kandinsky my thoughts exactly.

Kandinsky Thu 29-Aug-19 07:52:38

It’s not attractive to be a sore loser and take your anger out on people who just voted a different way from you.
Leavers have been subjected to years of disgusting abuse from remainers, maybe not on this forum but certainly on others ( Mumsnet included ) I’ve even seen posts from remainers saying all leave voters should be exterminated, be made to wear a mark on their heads so they can be identified, be made to wait at the back of any rationing queue because they ‘caused this’. - and that’s without the 1000’s of posts calling all leave voters thick racists.
So forgive me if I’m not too bothered about a load of very dangerous people stamping their feet even harder.

I must say though - the vast majority of remainers just want to leave now and get on with their lives, it’s only a small, hardcore, group of very vocal remainers who want to overturn the democratic will of the people.

Sara65 Thu 29-Aug-19 07:50:24

MawB
Spot on

M0nica Thu 29-Aug-19 07:47:04

My gloating is pay back for years of being called an ignorant racist by some remainers.

All’s fair in love & war.

Those who promote hate between people for any reason are responsible for most of the misery and wars in this world. The OP is obviously one of those.

I feel sorry for the OP. Those who hate are generally frightened people. The OP has had someone insult them and in their fear has withdrawn into a lonely world of hate.

Perhaps what we should really do is offer our hands to them in friendship and help them learn that it is possible to differ in views from someone, yet remain friends and that those who insult other people should be ignored and forgotten.

growstuff Thu 29-Aug-19 07:46:33

I'm sure you understand the meaning of what you write, Opal. I don't need to know you to realise what you mean in what you write. We have little in common. If you think that's condescending, I can't say it bothers me.

Marydoll Thu 29-Aug-19 07:44:41

Sums it up exactly and re-affirms my comment about posters who are downright nasty.

growstuff Thu 29-Aug-19 07:43:15

Who's that then, Wadesnan?

MawB Thu 29-Aug-19 07:40:36

I haven’t read through the whole thread, but would just answer OP with one word
Schadenfreude
Not an attractive attribute.

LadyGracie Thu 29-Aug-19 07:32:58

The question asked on the referendum ballot paper was:

Do you want to leave the EU?

Do you want to remain in the EU?

There was no mention of a 'deal'!

crystaltipps Thu 29-Aug-19 07:30:05

Why assume that those who complain about Johnson would welcome Corbyn as PM? It’s not a binary choice. I’d rather have an elected PM thanks. ( elected in a GE)
