I am livid to see this and well done to Caroline Lucus for calling him out on it.

I wonder how his fans here regard this behaviour?

Imagine a female, possibly even an overweight one ( !) behaving in such a manner or a left winger or Diane Abbott or just about anybody really!! It is quite unbelievable.

Labaik Thu 05-Sept-19 20:25:04

Don't you watch the news? Can you not, for just once, call a spade a spade?

lemongrove Thu 05-Sept-19 20:19:23

I don’t think the ‘outrage’ was at all faux.. the LOTO muttering that at T May was more than a little obnoxious.

lemongrove Thu 05-Sept-19 20:17:17

I don’t know what the doctor said or what JRM said Labaik but it has nothing to do with the OP in any case.

crystaltipps Thu 05-Sept-19 20:14:40

Remember the faux outrage when Corbyn called May a stupid woman? As for Tres Smugg and the doctor... I’d know who I’d trust on matters medical. He’s asked Smugg to repeat his comments outside parliament so he can sue him.

Labaik Thu 05-Sept-19 20:11:19

lemon; are you prepared to defend the way Rees Mogg has spoken about that doctor today?

lemongrove Thu 05-Sept-19 20:04:20

Nothing is over as yet Varian.....election looming soon.

M0nica Thu 05-Sept-19 19:55:49

If he is ahead in the polls, it is a good reason for the Speaker to do everything he can to let BJ expose himself as the nasty little self-serving sh*t he is.

A would not be confident about predicting a much longer political career for Boris Johnson. He's had his chance and blown it.

Labaik Thu 05-Sept-19 19:47:56

Hugo Dixon, who has been friends with Johnson since childhood has just said on the news that one of the problems is that Johnson has never been a committed Eurosceptic. He only joined the leave side as he thought he thought it would further his political career.

maddyone Thu 05-Sept-19 19:25:34

Labaik

‘A phoney MP, imo, is one who acts purely in self interest, and there are plenty of those on government at the moment, including the PM.........’

That would be Corbyn then.

Firecracker123 Thu 05-Sept-19 19:21:24

Actually Boris is 10 points ahead in the polls.

M0nica Thu 05-Sept-19 19:16:59

Bercow was merely allowing Boris to show himself up for the total prat he is. He is allowing him to make enough rope to hang himself by (metaphorically) or possible dig a very big ditch to die in. (again metaphorically).

The worse he behaves, the lower his standing in the country, and, equally importantly, the lower his standing in the international community and the EU.

Firecracker123 Thu 05-Sept-19 19:12:34

All this Faux outrage over Boris's chlorinated chicken and his big girls blouse jibe is ridiculous.

varian Thu 05-Sept-19 19:06:52

I normally support the Speaker but I think on this occasion he was remiss in allowing JRM to lol about on the government front bench in this contemptuous way, deliberately insulting House of Commons of which he is supposed to be the Leader.

Leaders are supposed to lead by example.

What a dreadful example he has set.

I did not attend Eton College, so I don't know whether that sort of offensive behaviour was encouraged or even tolerated there, but it certainly would never have been allowed at my school.

jura2 Thu 05-Sept-19 18:52:37

and chlorinated chicken - the Speaker should have intervened and make him apologise, on both occasions.

varian Thu 05-Sept-19 18:52:20

Disgusting pathetic Bullingdon club sexism.

Boosgran Thu 05-Sept-19 18:51:56

No granyrebel you are wrong. He DID say stupid woman and you’re stupid if you can’t see the word stupid coming out of his mouth.

allule Thu 05-Sept-19 18:51:02

Funny there's been so little comment on BJ mouthing at Corbyn....big girl's blouse.

Lessismore Thu 05-Sept-19 18:40:39

I include his comments jura. Really shocking.

Lessismore Thu 05-Sept-19 18:39:52

Rees-Mogg told MPs:

Preparations are in place and they are being done with remarkable efficiency. But yes, a lot of remainers wish to make our skins crawl.

"What [Nicholl] had to say, I will repeat it, is as irresponsible as Dr Wakefield in threatening that people will die because we leave the European Union. What level of irresponsibility was that?

And I’m afraid it seems to me that Dr David Nicholl is as irresponsible as Dr Wakefield"

This is dreadful.

Lessismore Thu 05-Sept-19 18:34:55

Aspen, you poor deluded fool, that was joke apparently.

jura2 Thu 05-Sept-19 18:33:36

and it was just sick to compare him with the disgraced anti MMR doctor

westendgirl Thu 05-Sept-19 18:29:16

I have just heard Rees-Mogg on the news denigrating the neurologist who wrote some of the Yellowhammer report, an expert in his field . Rees-Mogg was dreadful calling the doctor irresponsible and fear-mongering.the doctor may sue..

Grannyrebel Thu 05-Sept-19 18:12:48

Boosgran - Jeremy Corbyn did not say "Stupid woman". He said "Stupid people". Neither is he a Marxist. He just wants a fair society and you never hear of him slagging anyone off. He's an honourable politician unlike most. I am so tired of people and the press insulting him especially the Daily Mail.

Aspen Thu 05-Sept-19 17:29:54

Remember JRM and Boris went to Eton where manners do not seem to matter. I was horrified at that photo of Boris putting his feet on the coffee table while speaking to Macron.
