I am livid to see this and well done to Caroline Lucus for calling him out on it.

I wonder how his fans here regard this behaviour?

Imagine a female, possibly even an overweight one ( !) behaving in such a manner or a left winger or Diane Abbott or just about anybody really!! It is quite unbelievable.

Haven't seen the IDS one. He seems to have totally forgotten that he is a failed party leader, I think.

Callistemon Wed 04-Sept-19 22:19:51

Possibly upright and alert?
I am often very alert whilst prone and with eyes closed.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 04-Sept-19 21:43:32

Anyone seen the video of IDS in the house. It is so awful I can’t repeat it.

jura2 Wed 04-Sept-19 21:41:05

It was very deliberate, to show his contempt for the House- arrogant, despicable and unforgivable.

As for Duncan-Smith's behaviour - disgusting sad

Just two of the many amusing pics of JRM doing the rounds on the Internet today!

M0nica Wed 04-Sept-19 21:22:42

Actually, what the photo of Rees-Mogg reminded me of most was those Old Master paintings of naked ladies, generally of negotiable virute, posing as goddessses or similar, concealing their modesty with a wisp of fabric while looking knowingly at the person looking at them.

In my minds eye I have stripped R-M down, draped him in a wisp of fabric and had him coyly looking at the viewer. Oh, it doesn't half make him look ridiculous.

I have just discovered that my local Conservative MP after 20 years of sitting on the fence and astutely following the party line, last night found some convictions to be couragous about and was among the 20 plus rebels who defied the party whip.

Three cheers for Ed Vaizey.

Good! Maybe Rees Mogg will give us a "Portillo Moment" whenever the next GE is.

Barmeyoldbat Wed 04-Sept-19 19:41:19

I heard on the local news tonight JRM constituents saying how they were appalled not only with his disrespect but the look of utter boredom on his face.

Lessismore Wed 04-Sept-19 19:24:34

I'm guessing as Leader of the House he was obliged to be there?

Possibly upright and alert?

Callistemon Wed 04-Sept-19 18:47:02

Ooh! I see my MP in another picture, head down, is he snoozing or looking at his phone?

shock

Callistemon Wed 04-Sept-19 18:45:43

Thanks gillybob grin

Well, I am wondering what is worse hmm

Rees-Mogg reclining, perhaps concentrating as the debate flows over him, or the number of empty seats in the House.

Difficult one.

At least he was there.

Lessismore Wed 04-Sept-19 18:44:33

Google is you friend here.

Callistemon Wed 04-Sept-19 18:43:12

I've been very busy

What's he done?

(perhaps I don't want to know)

EllanVannin Wed 04-Sept-19 18:42:31

I'll change that to " wouldn't ".

EllanVannin Wed 04-Sept-19 18:41:34

All public schoolboys are the same---couldn't work in convulsions !!

Lessismore Wed 04-Sept-19 17:53:25

He's mad that trusts in the tameness of a wolf, a horse's
health, a boy's love, or a whore's oath.

growstuff Wed 04-Sept-19 17:37:44

It would be a tad childish to up your "ghastly fool" with "supercilious twerp", Lessimore, so I won't.

Lessismore Wed 04-Sept-19 17:32:34

D'you know what Boo, I'm not a sneering person but for this person I will make an exception. It's not to do with politics.....nobody comes out of the shambles very well at all...it is the arrogance, the rudeness of the man.

Unless I am mistaken he was at work. Is this the way to behave? Is this what teachers are trying to instill in the young? If you don't like something it's OK to nod off and lie down.

Wake up, its indefensible.

Grandad1943 Wed 04-Sept-19 17:04:23

Lessismore Quote [Is this the level of " debate ".

A person who occupies an extremely high position behaves in a very poor way and all we can manage is " Ah but Corbyn said...."
Bercow said.....

or " I don't mind if MP's go to sleep "] End Quote.

Lessismore, in regard to your above post, I certainly do object to an elected Member of Parliament acting as Jacob Reece Mogg did yesterday.

Part of the tax that I pay (both direct and indirect) go towards that man's palimentery salary and expenses. In that, he said should very much respect me and all other taxpayers in the United Kingdom and carry out the duties the Electorate invested in him to the best of his abilities at all times.

Not go to sleep on the job.
Disgusting.

Boosgran Wed 04-Sept-19 17:04:22

Lessimore You’ve reduced this ‘debate’ with your sneering, sarcastic comments to anyone who disagrees with you. Calling the person in question ‘ghastly’ and a ‘fool’ that’s hardly reasonable debate.

Firecracker123 Wed 04-Sept-19 17:03:26

Lee's constituency voted Leave and now they have an Undemocratic Lib Dem representing them.

GillT57 Wed 04-Sept-19 16:57:45

JRM constituents voted 51.63% to remain, hardly a hot bed of Brexit, would give a couple of back teeth to see him lose his seat.

It is just a teeny bit pathetic when Brexit/ERG supporters feel they have to defend every little thing that their heros do, even if in ordinary life it would be appallingly rude. You do know that Phillip Lee a GP), the Tory who walked to the Lib Dem bench yesterday said that the final straw for him was listening to JRM sneeringly dismiss medical personnel during an interview on LBC ? The man is a ghastly, rude human being, irrespective of his politics, his Brexit stance or anything else. He is paid to represent his constituents, they must be so proud.
