When we leave with a deal, all this angst ( about something you have no control of whatsoever) is going to look pretty silly.

If we leave the EU there will be much angst.

If this brexit nonsense is stopped there will not.

I'm just watching the news! For what its worth,I think ALL politicians should spend a specified time in Idlip (sp?) perhaps if they could see the suffering first hand they might just realise that Brexit is relatively unimportant and that whatever happens we are blessed and fortunate beyond these poor peoples wildest dreams! Would certainly concentrate their selfish lying minds, or would it?!!

We have been spared the anguish of war during our membership of the EU, apart from the "troubles" in NI which cost thousands of lives. The Good Friday Agreement gave us peace again and that peace must never be endangered.

No jabberwok a few on here woujd complain about Syrian migrants taking their lives to get to Europe and the UK. There are some cold hearts on here.

Even if we leave with a deal, lemon, there are people on here whose children are emigrating because of Brexit; that have lost their jobs because of Brexit. And whose pensions have been decimated. Are they, to you, just collateral damage? Do you feel no sympathy?

Some of use who have studied carefully the risks for the last few months, have been accused of being 'hysterical, oh and 'Endless moanings and groanings ' - and of peddling Project Fear. And even now, with Yellowhammer showing clearly that it was 'project reality' - you dare come up with such uncaring and, yes, hysterical comments like that Shame on you.

David Nicholls who wrote part of the medical section of Yellowhammer has just said unequivocally that if there is a no deal brexit, people will DIE.

Anyway, back to the thread. Mooning should/groaning/angst is a very reductive argument given the seriousness of the predicted fallout - it’s almost as if you have absolutely no other defence

I have no trouble at all in not replying to any demanding posts as in ‘why this and why that’.
I’ve always thought that if it came to a no deal there would be some disruption, but the end (Brexit) justifies the means.
Having said that, I’ve never seriously thought that we would leave without a deal, and I still think that.
So pardon me if I don’t go in for the mass hand wringing and the gnashing of teeeth.

It's all frighteningly like that Millgram experiment in that people don't care what the result is as long as someone tells them that another person is taking the responsibility. And the other one where [I think] a teacher told a group of children that those with blue eyes were superior to those with brown and their attitude towards each other changed dramatically.

The yellow hammer published is the most likely outcome of no deal and I think it’s pretty realistic. There would also have been a catastrophic version where a major financial crisis coincided with Brexit, it might be a currency crisis or a global recession. All that does not bear thinking about but could easily happen, so project fear is not yellowhammer, it’s much worse.
