It will be shouldered by everybody ( if that happened) jura
Because over 17 million people who voted to Leave did not
Have anything to do with negotiating a deal with the EU.
If you cannot see that, there is no hope for you.

Gonegirl Thu 12-Sept-19 21:14:25

No! Did it get deleted?

Davidhs Thu 12-Sept-19 21:10:05

The yellow hammer published is the most likely outcome of no deal and I think it’s pretty realistic. There would also have been a catastrophic version where a major financial crisis coincided with Brexit, it might be a currency crisis or a global recession. All that does not bear thinking about but could easily happen, so project fear is not yellowhammer, it’s much worse.

It's all frighteningly like that Millgram experiment in that people don't care what the result is as long as someone tells them that another person is taking the responsibility. And the other one where [I think] a teacher told a group of children that those with blue eyes were superior to those with brown and their attitude towards each other changed dramatically.

In which case, Lemon- I stick by my earlier comment- that shortages of isotopes and drugs, should be shouldered by those who voted for it.

SirChenjin Thu 12-Sept-19 21:01:54

You mean you don’t remember Gone?!

Gonegirl Thu 12-Sept-19 20:59:46

That to SirChenjin

Labaik Thu 12-Sept-19 20:58:52

I take it that means you don't feel any sympathy then #notsurewhyiaskedasitwasobviousanyway sad..

Gonegirl Thu 12-Sept-19 20:58:52

Eh?

jura2 Thu 12-Sept-19 20:55:33

Varian, without isotopes for cancer diagnosis and treatment- that is very clear.

Anna Soubry has stated categorically today that the published version of Yellowhammer is not the real document- and that the original is much more worrying (which she has seen)

lemongrove Thu 12-Sept-19 20:55:05

I have no trouble at all in not replying to any demanding posts as in ‘why this and why that’.
I’ve always thought that if it came to a no deal there would be some disruption, but the end (Brexit) justifies the means.
Having said that, I’ve never seriously thought that we would leave without a deal, and I still think that.
So pardon me if I don’t go in for the mass hand wringing and the gnashing of teeeth.

SirChenjin Thu 12-Sept-19 20:43:07

Moaning even - although mooning is probably appropriate

SirChenjin Thu 12-Sept-19 20:22:26

Could have been more childish I suppose - at least it wasn’t a one fingered salute emoji- eh, Gone?

Anyway, back to the thread. Mooning should/groaning/angst is a very reductive argument given the seriousness of the predicted fallout - it’s almost as if you have absolutely no other defence

varian Thu 12-Sept-19 20:20:30

David Nicholls who wrote part of the medical section of Yellowhammer has just said unequivocally that if there is a no deal brexit, people will DIE.

jura2 Thu 12-Sept-19 20:02:29

Have you read the Document Lemon- well at least those bits which have been published? And you dare write 'Endless moanings and groanings ' ?

Some of use who have studied carefully the risks for the last few months, have been accused of being 'hysterical, oh and 'Endless moanings and groanings ' - and of peddling Project Fear. And even now, with Yellowhammer showing clearly that it was 'project reality' - you dare come up with such uncaring and, yes, hysterical comments like that sad Shame on you.

Labaik Thu 12-Sept-19 19:57:37

Even if we leave with a deal, lemon, there are people on here whose children are emigrating because of Brexit; that have lost their jobs because of Brexit. And whose pensions have been decimated. Are they, to you, just collateral damage? Do you feel no sympathy?

GillT57 Thu 12-Sept-19 18:47:26

No jabberwok a few on here woujd complain about Syrian migrants taking their lives to get to Europe and the UK. There are some cold hearts on here.

varian Thu 12-Sept-19 18:30:51

We have been spared the anguish of war during our membership of the EU, apart from the "troubles" in NI which cost thousands of lives. The Good Friday Agreement gave us peace again and that peace must never be endangered.

Jabberwok Thu 12-Sept-19 18:28:05

I'm just watching the news! For what its worth,I think ALL politicians should spend a specified time in Idlip (sp?) perhaps if they could see the suffering first hand they might just realise that Brexit is relatively unimportant and that whatever happens we are blessed and fortunate beyond these poor peoples wildest dreams! Would certainly concentrate their selfish lying minds, or would it?!!

varian Thu 12-Sept-19 18:27:48

If we leave the EU there will be much angst.

If this brexit nonsense is stopped there will not.

lemongrove Thu 12-Sept-19 18:18:36

When we leave with a deal, all this angst ( about something you have no control of whatsoever) is going to look pretty silly.

lemongrove Thu 12-Sept-19 18:15:23

Yes, very childish indeed.....but it’s better for them than all the
Endless moanings and groanings I suppose.?

absthame Thu 12-Sept-19 18:12:34

Yep, 2nd one gringrin

GillT57 Thu 12-Sept-19 18:10:57

On that point james2451 I always understood that the first priority for any government was the safety of its citizens. So how can this totally unnecessary and voluntary shitstorm of shortages, smuggling, sectarian violence be welcomed by even the most deluded Brexiteer?

absthame Thu 12-Sept-19 18:10:04

I'm interested in understanding how the heck BJ expects to get, what in Tory terms is a leftist program through such a right-wing cabinet and bunch of back benches or is it that the program is another of his shams; I wonderconfusedconfused
