I hope there is a Democratic candidate to give him a run for his money next year. Apparently his latest faux pas are to get the facts wrong about the two female space walkers and to claim that Obama tried to talk to Kim Jong-un but Kim refused any of the eleven phone calls Obama is supposed to have made to him. In fact Obama never tried to call Kim. Trump is a pathological liar and a vile human being.

Eloethan & rosecarmel I agree about Biden. I'm hoping he will not be the nominee. He has name recognition, but he's unpopular with the Democratic base - especially younger voters.

Just as a general comment, we're in unprecedented territory with Trump, who essentially brags about being a career criminal, a misogynist, a racist, and a moron. It's shameful how Republicans enable him. He's done so much damage in such a short time, and some of it will never be undone.

There's a second whistle blower, the pieces of the puzzle are falling into place, and as they do some Republicans are growing increasingly uncomfortable- Colin Powell suggested the Republican party get a grip on itself and stand up to Trump-

He's suggesting that Biden pressured Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor to benefit his son- Which could in part be true but difficult to prove? It wasn't a coincidence it benefited his son- Nor was it the first time "proximity" worked in his son's favor- But is it criminal?

Trump said impeachment is a "bad thing to have on your resume"- He doesn't want it to be his legacy- And maybe it won't be-

The majority of the republicans would have to vote for impeachment to carry it but maybe they will decide to drop Trump and go for VP Pence, in preparation for the 2020 election?

I think even Nixon resigned before he was removed.

House Democrats have subpoenaed the White House demanding documents that could shed light on Trump’s efforts to pressure Ukraine, in the latest escalation of their impeachment investigation into the president and his administration. The move comes as the senior Democrats also formally requested documents relating to Ukraine dealings from Mike Pence, the vice-president.

The subpoena, issued late Friday, follows numerous appeals for the White House to produce documents voluntarily. The letter, addressed to the acting chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney, and signed by Representatives Elijah Cummings, Adam Schiff and Eliot Engel, accuses the president of “stonewalling” and says they were left “with no choice” but to subpoena.

“It appears clear that the president has chosen the path of defiance, obstruction, and cover-up,” the letter reads, warning that failure to comply – even at the direction of the president – “shall constitute evidence of obstruction of the House’s impeachment inquiry”. Ukraine texts show how Trump has warped the state department.

The House investigators also want Pence to give them documents that could shed light on whether he helped Trump pressure Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden, the former vice-president and leading Democratic candidate for the 2020 nomination.

Eloethan, I agree- Biden comes across as indecisive - And false- He's struggles to communicate- But once he gets his point across, one realizes he's a meet the new boss same as the old boss kind of politician-

Under his administration it would take forever and maybe never to accomplish his proposals- Changes that need addressing immediately would simmer on the back burner until his term ended- And then, like Obama, he'd walk away with a 60+ million dollar book deal-

I agree. It was excrutiating performance and apperently an apology has been issued to the President of Finland, who is also the current President of the EU.

Donald Trump has always been strange, but watching him in front of journalists last night was in a different league from usual.Nothing made any kind of sense at all, bizarre.

rosecarmel I realise there are several other nominees but Biden has received a lot of coverage and he is totally - and embarrassingly - inept, as well as there being serious questions as to his conduct.

Eloethan, currently there are 19 democrat candidates running for president- The nominee to run against president Trump, or vice president Pence if president Trump is impeached, has yet to be chosen- That won't take place until July 2020-

The world is being run by individuals who are driven by greed- I have to wonder what they're so afraid of, other than each other, to feel they need even more wealth- So much so that the citizens of each of their countries must struggle as a result-

It's not great on the Democrat front either. Has anyone seen Joe Biden's speeches and how he answers questions? Trump is vile but there has been some very dodgy information coming out about Joe Biden's son. Why on earth was Biden selected anyway - he's completely inept?

It feels like the whole world is run by crazy people.

It's a matter of patience and continually feeding him enough rope to hang himself with as well as providing him with enough support to continue to accomplish addressing problems long forgotten by prior administrations- On one hand he's a patsy and a necessary, unfortunate event on the other-

His base is beginning to splinter and distance themselves some- Having gone from a berserker state because he was the first president in decades to hear them, to a more sobering state after realizing their vote supported the act of traumatizing and caging children and families in inhumane conditions-

It's all downhill from here for Republicans for some time to come-
