we had Harry all over the "news" earlier now his wife has joined in with the whinging about how hard their life is!! Honestly ..they should have to live the lives of millions in this country and then they would know how HARD life can get .Why is it NEWS anyway? If its so hard they can always walk away .

Exactly notanan

Hit the ground running = I dont need to learn the ropes or aclimatise to British culture because I know better!

I think we have all known colleagues like this, that join the team as a junior with little experience but dont want to learn from anyone and are all keen to reinvent the wheel without taking time to understand how things work in the first place.

When this doesnt work out it doesnt take long before they throw a tantrum/flounce rather than admit that they have a lot to learn!

So if you think about , it isn’t actually MM that has changed, it is we who credited her with all sorts of attributions from the glimpses & newspaper articles etc that are changing, we are now beginning to see & hear & observe the real MM & some are not liking the shift from the original perception that they had to the reality of what is.

Nothing to do with Meghan but all the women I know who married in their 30's (or 50's and 60's), walked down the aisle themselves.
Didn't Charles step in to walk Meghan down the aisle?

Sparklefizz Sun 20-Oct-19 18:07:50

I agree with merlot. I thought she was lovely at first, although I wasn't keen on the "hitting the ground running" remark.

I felt sorry for her over her father, thought she was plucky to walk down the aisle alone ... think I was wrong now and giving her too much benefit of the doubt.

Race has nothing to do with it.

Anniebach Sun 20-Oct-19 18:01:09

I didn’t warm to Megan , walking down the aisle alone was for me a sign of things to come.

notanan2 Sun 20-Oct-19 17:58:36

M was well liked initially but her popularity has deminished

Unless she has got more black since her wedding, how is her decreasing poularity about race?

merlotgran Sun 20-Oct-19 17:54:31

I might be critical of H&M now but I certainly wasn't when they first married. It was obvious how much in love they were and I liked her style and attitude.

It didn't take long for my opinion to change though and I don't think I was the only one disappointed by the reports which might not all have been true but obviously some of them were.

I admire the Queen and the rest of the hard working member of the royal family.

Anniebach Sun 20-Oct-19 17:47:56

Not race again

annep1 Sun 20-Oct-19 17:43:55

I don't agree Destin. I think GNetters are generally fair to/supportive of members of the RF.

SirChenjin Sun 20-Oct-19 17:43:33

Only when it’s deserved.

Destin Sun 20-Oct-19 17:34:50

Some if not most of these comments here seem to be so overly critical, targeted and hurtful. Why are so many Brits always eager to be spiteful regardless of race, rank or circumstances.

merlotgran Sun 20-Oct-19 17:33:46

Daisymae, Are you suggesting that Tom Bradby who interviewed them and wrote the article for the Sunday Times is talking bo***cks?

Sparklefizz Sun 20-Oct-19 17:29:37

I cannot believe this woman has said they are "just existing and not living." I have lost all patience and sympathy. I have seen the trailers but won't be watching the programme as she makes me too annoyed.

A friend's husband was in the Army with Harry and says he doesn't recognise the man he is now. It's sad.

notanan2 Sun 20-Oct-19 17:20:51

I dont think they would accept PR/Advice TBH.

Essentially they want to be loved by people they hate.
How can this end well?

Daisymae Sun 20-Oct-19 16:57:16

Merlotgran, that's just gossip and speculation. No one can possibly know what happened.

pinkquartz Sun 20-Oct-19 16:41:41

They really take the biscuit....she says she is just existing and he thinks the press killed his mother.
Both are deluded and making each other worse.....they are not good for each other.
They are telling themselves how hard their lives are while the majority of us have to get through days that would clearly finish this pair of nincompoops off.

I really do hope they leave the UK but not taking our moeny with them.

Jane10 Sun 20-Oct-19 16:38:57

I agree SirChengin. They need to find much better PR representation.

SirChenjin Sun 20-Oct-19 16:35:59

If nothing else, hopefully they’ll use the time to take stock of their public persona and get some good, non-sycophantic (is that even a word?!) PR advice. They’re making faux pas after faux pas, and they can’t keep bleating that they’re getting a hard time when they’re bringing so much of it on themselves in their misguided quest to ‘make a difference’ on the global stage.

Loislovesstewie Sun 20-Oct-19 14:56:59

Apparently the Duchess was going to hit the ground running. It might have been better to learn to walk first.

merlotgran Sun 20-Oct-19 14:50:48

I can't believe they're so thick they don't realise the damage they're doing to their reputations.

Jane, I think William's given up trying to advise them. I don't think Harry's prepared to listen to anybody, even the Queen.

Jane10 Sun 20-Oct-19 14:44:06

William needs to have a word with them!

annep1 Sun 20-Oct-19 14:38:35

And it's not as if they actually do all any of the work at home. Wouldn't we all have loved that.

Anniebach Sun 20-Oct-19 14:36:09

Apart from the Africa trip what have they done in the last five months ?

annep1 Sun 20-Oct-19 14:34:01

Six weeks. I would laugh if it wasn't so serious. Good for them. Perhaps other workers could demand equality.

Such arrogance.
