I would just like one thread for brexiters only please.

I voted leave. I would vote leave again and again and again. There has been nothing to change my mind. I have been hardened by the views of remainers.

I would really like to talk to other brexit minded posters.
Thanks.

Urmstongran Sun 20-Oct-19 21:25:13

Night aprilrose thank you for this thread. It’s good to have somewhere to post uplifting news of Brexit.
?

MawB Sun 20-Oct-19 21:24:17

Sadly Urmstongran I think lemon has hit the nail on the head when she suggests the motivation behind starting “a *** only “ thread. sad

Urmstongran Sun 20-Oct-19 21:23:27

The DUP don’t see Boris as a hero. But they don’t speak for all of N.I. (who voted to Remain) and I bet plenty of moderates there will like having the best of both worlds. So much so, Scotland were annoyed they didn’t get similar ‘preferential treatment’!

SirChenjin Sun 20-Oct-19 21:20:57

Urm are you watching the same news as the rest of us?! Northern Ireland and Scotland really really don’t see Boris as a British hero.

aprilrose Sun 20-Oct-19 21:20:45

I have to go and put my DD to bed now. Its a bit late for her but its not a school day tomorrow and she has been allowed to stay up.

She is too young for social media by the way smile

I have to retire because I have an early shift tomorrow. I will try and pop back as long as posters have not complained so much I get thrown off or the thread is deleted.

Have a good night all. Enjoy and stay positive.
Thanks for all the positive support and PM's supporting this thread also.

See what I mean Maw - look at the post above mine. It’s just not necessary on here. Why can’t people just be tolerant if they can’t be kind?

Urmstongran Sun 20-Oct-19 21:17:08

No Maw I don’t think it’s meant to be taken that way. I feel this is a thread where people can come together to discuss positives about Brexit - there are some! So many of the Brexit threads disintegrate into slanging matches and this one shouldn’t, simply because it’s not about debate but consensus on the topic.

GracesGranMK3 Sun 20-Oct-19 21:13:53

In my experience it is teenagers who use whatsapp. When one grows up one leaves that behind.

This could have some truth; I believe those babies Brexit, the ERG have their own group.

Urmstongran Sun 20-Oct-19 21:13:45

Not engaging Grandad1943 I’m sorry! This thread really isn’t for these in depth ‘tell me how it is discussions’.

See you on one of the (plenty) Brexit threads - this one of aprilrose’s is for likeminded Leavers to relax, enjoy one another’s non combative company and chat about Brexit in general without the goady comments - a pleasant change!

Click the link for a great Brexit parody.
This is open to leavers and remainers?

MawB Sun 20-Oct-19 21:07:57

With all due respect to friends on this thread and friends on the “other” one, is this what we are reduced to?
Just because we may hold opposing views does not wipe out years of shared experiences, of support, of shared laughter and tears.
And now?
Bickering and formalising mutually exclusive cliques?
I am really saddened and very much doubt if I want to play any more.

Urmstongran Sun 20-Oct-19 21:07:22

Well N.I. apparently has the best of both worlds in the deal and I bet Scottish Leavers like Boris Scj All Leavers have despaired with Theresa May!

lemongrove Sun 20-Oct-19 21:06:21

Yes Jellaway I had noticed that, maybe they think the it’s those who shout loudest that get noticed.
Talking of loud shouting, that idiot who goes around shouting ‘STOP BREXIT!’ Won’t know what to do with himself if MP’s vote the deal through this week. He will have to take up whittling or crown bowls.

lemongrove Sun 20-Oct-19 21:02:39

Well, there’s a ‘bossy old lady’ on another thread especially for Remainers.......quick! Hurry over there and tell her off!?

GracesGranMK3 Sun 20-Oct-19 20:57:45

I've just seen this: mobile.twitter.com/lewis_goodall/status/1185989844281020418 it says it all so much better than I can .

Jellaway Sun 20-Oct-19 20:56:31

Does anybody get really angry with the remainers at Parliament that positively bellow for ages even though you can’t hear what they are calling out. When the newsreaders are interviewing people from both sides of the coin, the bellowers are actually stopping us from hearing any debate properly at all so we cannot even hear people fighting the remainers’ corner. Foolish.

Waterloosunset Sun 20-Oct-19 20:54:13

Absolutely agree with mcem!

Grandad1943 Sun 20-Oct-19 20:42:12

Urmstongran Quote[ Boris is a British hero. We should be thankful that we have someone like him fighting for us.] End Quote.

Urmstongran, it sounds as if you are trying to make out that Johnson is to Britain a second Churchill.

However, Churchill was most definitely not a liar or a womanizer. He never told this nation that he would rather be dead in a ditch than carry something out, and then go and carry out just that action.

By the way, how is the misappropriation of public funds to the pole dancer investigation going Urmstongran, as being busy I seem to have lost track of that in the last few days?

GracesGranMK3 Sun 20-Oct-19 20:40:34

We have an interesting week ahead and it could be a decisive one. The government has all sorts of problems ahead of it which many will want to discuss. And the leave voters? They just want to run away and hide it seems.

Leaving by 31 October? We shall see. The government, apparently, intends to try and bring forward another meaningful vote tomorrow. Did the learn nothing when May tried this? It will, if it is repeat, be rejected by the speaker and like so many leave voters on here, no doubt Johnson and Co., will blame everyone but themselves. It also contradicts the Letwin amendment that parliament agreed on Saturday. Perhaps Johnson thinks that law doesn't apply to him either.

It also looks like amendments will be put forward on such things as staying in the Customs Union which could entirely derail the pseudo saviour at the head of government. As the oh so clever Eton Boys have not actually put forward a Programme Motion they may not even be able to start a discussion if they bring one forward on Monday, it could be voted down in favour of discussing it next week or after October 31st, so until an extension is in place. And there is the Queen's Speech, which may also be voted down during the week.

I find this interesting and will discuss it where I want without some bossy old lady trying to tell me I can't.

Dyffryn Sun 20-Oct-19 20:39:17

What a waste of reading 5 pages of this thread. Lots of people saying they voted leave, but as far as I could see only one person giving their reasons for voting leave. No one discussing the positives of leaving. Oh well I live in hope that one day I will understand why people voted leave.

Jellaway Sun 20-Oct-19 20:37:43

I am an absolute leaver and it is so good to hear from other leavers. Even my best friend suggested that I must be thick to make my decision. Everyone says that I was persuaded to leave by the manifestos. Absolutely not. I made up my own mind immediately from the start. With any massive change, there will be teething troubles. But overall I am excited about our future.

Dinahmo Sun 20-Oct-19 20:33:54

My apologies GG - in no way did I say I wasn't interested. I would really like to know what you leavers think is so good about leaving. But it looks as though I'm still not going to find out any time soon. Hence my comment about ignoring us Remainers.

As for your last sentence - how dare you!

Boosgran Sun 20-Oct-19 20:32:43

Agree Urmstongran ?

SirChenjin Sun 20-Oct-19 20:32:11

He’s not a British hero Urm - N Ireland and Scotland don’t think he’s up to much. You must mean English and Welsh?
