I would just like one thread for brexiters only please.

I voted leave. I would vote leave again and again and again. There has been nothing to change my mind. I have been hardened by the views of remainers.

I would really like to talk to other brexit minded posters.
Thanks.

Aprilrose there are millions like you in the country, and many on GN too, rest assured, who are hoping this week will prove decisive, and see us finally leave the EU on the 31st after years of dithering. The whole country, not just GN and similar forums needs to put this issue finally ‘to bed’ and move on.

You are unbelievably pompous grandad 1943. Totally full of your own importance.

Grandad1943 Sun 20-Oct-19 20:30:45

aprilrose, I feel you must have little experience of WhatsApp in stating on this thread that only young people use that media.

Three generations of our family use our WhatsApp page and it is great for everyone keeping in touch almost every day with news of what's going on at work, school, sport or everyday life.

In my workplace, very many have similar WhatsApp setups with their family and friends.

So, the WhatsApp for young only statement would seem to be somewhat "out of touch" in todays world.

Boris is a British hero. We should be thankful that we have someone like him fighting for us.

Grandad et al. I say again that we should opt out and allow the positive posts to accumulate before we make further comments. Optimistic posters are being diverted from their main purpose by having to argue about their right to post their views.
Why not just stand back and see what they say when the have the freedom to do as they wish without distraction?

aprilrose Sun 20-Oct-19 20:19:45

In my experience it is teenagers who use whatsapp. When one grows up one leaves that behind. As for facebook, I know lots of young people who used facebook for a while then as they started to go into the workplace they deleted their profiles. They too know not to be on facebook. First place an employer looks.

aprilrose

??

Or perhaps such brexit thinking persons do not use whatap and facebook at all? I have personally ever seen a need for them.

I just really wanted to know if there were others like me. I know about the rest of you. It is hard to get away from knowing really. You are all so vocal.

Grandad1943 Sun 20-Oct-19 20:12:51

Surely if someone wishes to have a peaceful discussion among like-minded Brexit persons, that would be better held on a closed group WhatsApp page and not on an open forum such as this.

However, perhaps such Brexit thinking persons do not possess the forethought to work that out, or this thread was started to deliberately be provocative. ?

MaizieD Sun 20-Oct-19 20:12:19

I really was all agog to hear what Leavers had to say. If, as they believe, leaving is inevitable I'd like to know how it will make my life better.

Smileless2012 Sun 20-Oct-19 20:08:00

I'll vote leave again if there's another referendum. Mr. S. who voted remain said he will change his vote to leave.

I gave my reasons for voting for Brexit in the aftermath of the 'once in a life time' referendum and wont waste my time by doing so again.

Well it's page 5 aprilrose and not too bad so farsmile.

Gfplux Sun 20-Oct-19 20:06:25

I am a remainer.
Firstly for personal reasons as I am a Brit resident in another EU Country.
Secondly because I believe sincerely that Brexit will not in the short or medium term benefit the majority of British people nor in the long term make Britain better in any way.

aprilrose Sun 20-Oct-19 20:05:24

Can I just ask before this is deleted and I get the chop for some reason..... has GN ever decided that a complaint is vexatious and left a thread up?

Dottynan Sun 20-Oct-19 20:03:36

Grandad 1943 I am not crying on anyones shoulder and I certainly haven't realised any terrible mistake I made in 2016. Be grateful if you wouldn't speak on my behalf

lemongrove Sun 20-Oct-19 20:02:12

I expect somebody will be along shortly to remind us to be inclusive and allow remainers to play.grin
Newsflash! They are already playing and have stolen the skipping ropes.

Grandad1943 Sun 20-Oct-19 20:01:35

Oh, watch out the forum grammar and spelling police have now been brought in to try and save this thread and the Brexit argument. ?

aprilrose Sun 20-Oct-19 20:01:21

Oh dear paintingthetownred. A bit over the top really.

However, whilst I have the opportunity I would thank all those who entered into the fun and positive attitude that I was trying to foster with this thread.

lemongrove Sun 20-Oct-19 19:58:33

There there Eloethan we will be out of the EU soon and then all the nastiness will come to an end......?

I disagree that the purpose was ‘goady’ I saw it as a (doomed )
Effort to have a thread for any leaver to post remarks without all the ever present insults and anger/ demands for explanation/etc etc which has been the boring theme for three long, very long years on GN.
Will it stop I wonder, if MP’s do vote to pass Johnson’s deal this week, we leave on the 31st, and then go on to negotiate
After that, or will the bitterness from Remainers on the forum dog us all to the grave?
Answers on a postcard please.

Urmstongran Sun 20-Oct-19 19:57:57

Oh god paintingthetownred!!

Hammers and cracking nuts?

I hope the mods leave this thread up and running to show support for the spirit behind it.

paintingthetownred Sun 20-Oct-19 19:55:20

No such thing as a thread 'for brexiteers only'.
that is not part of any kind of discussion or democractic process. So I've asked the moderators to delete it asap. Any other approach is fascist, to be blunt.

suziewoozie you are right.
Painting.

GabriellaG54 Sun 20-Oct-19 19:55:09

Grandad1943
As an ardent remainer, why on earth are you wasting time on this thread?
Rabble rousing?
We don't aim to please you or your ilk.
Find something more interesting.

Urmstongran Sun 20-Oct-19 19:53:08

Ha! Love that Dottyann
?

Urmstongran Sun 20-Oct-19 19:52:25

That’s a positive, eh Grandad1943!

Dottynan Sun 20-Oct-19 19:51:33

I shall get my Proseco on ice and hopefully sit in the garden and toast a bright new future on 31st Octobert 2019 at 11 pm. Positive not negative thoughts. And if its raining I shall use my umbrella or maybe not

Urmstongran Sun 20-Oct-19 19:51:26

I think we will be out on 31st October. It was encouraging to see Barnier in Brussels today (on a Sunday) with his team, still working on the draft deal.
