I would just like one thread for brexiters only please.

I voted leave. I would vote leave again and again and again. There has been nothing to change my mind. I have been hardened by the views of remainers.

I would really like to talk to other brexit minded posters.
Thanks.

Hmmmm, that’ll be a popular move newnanny ?

Has anyone noticed that latest polls show Conservatives 14% ahead in polls.

Also has anyone seen latest Labour plot to reduce car driving by 60% before 2030. They aim to do this by taxing motorist far higher taxes and endorced by Long Bailey.

Distinguished historian Francis Fukuyama believes that populism is a threat to democracy and brexit would diminish the UK's standing in the world.

GGMK3 Corner shops - good analogy. Much, much better than Thatcher and her housekeeping.

GracesGranMK3 Fri 08-Nov-19 20:37:13

its a load of cobblers

That certainly sums up your post moggie57.

Let's start with your view of Australia. Australia was a founder member of the Commonwealth in 1931 when its independence was recognised under the Statute of Westminster. What has something that happened in 1931 got to do with the EU?

The EU is not a "trust". It is a group of, up 'till now, 28 independent nation-states who have chosen to work together to the advantage, in varying ways, of each and every one of them.

Because we make trade agreements with 28 other nations we get them on extremely good terms. I am horrified that you may still believe that as one nation, possibly only England with Wales, we can get anything like those terms. Have you ever seen a corner shop (our new position if we leave) being able to negotiate and therefore sell to us at the same prices as the supermarkets which is currently our position when working with the EU? Even the corner shops work together on their trade deals with wholesalers and they can still not compete with the supermarkets. Of course, we will not be able to get deals as good as we have now. We will have to agree to trade in our National Health, our health and safety laws and our work conditions and still not get the deals the EU countries can working together.

No; they didn't get the result they wanted so it seems they, unlike a lot of us, are allowed to have another go sad...

janipat Fri 08-Nov-19 19:09:54

I thought we were promised in 2017 that it was a vote for the next 5 years. Why are we being cheated and made to endure another General Election? Can't possibly be because it's thought we may have changed our minds, we all know we have to follow the first vote through before we can be offered a chance to do that. Or is that only for Brexit?

varian Fri 08-Nov-19 19:06:50

Why has the report on Russian interference in the fraudulent referendum not been published?

I have the feeling that we have been swindled into thinking "we have to respect the result of the referendum" for the last three and a half years when in fact no-one should respect a result achieved by lies, cheating and foreign interference.

Hetty58 Fri 08-Nov-19 18:52:23

I have a growing suspicion that we are being slowly swindled out of leaving - however we vote. I believe that the majority of the Civil Service (those who actually run the country) have never wanted to leave!

MaizieD Fri 08-Nov-19 18:49:07

WTF are you on about, moggie?

varian Fri 08-Nov-19 18:48:13

Grieve was opposed to Brexit before the 2016 referendum.[40]

Beaconsfield voted 51% Remain

moggie57 Fri 08-Nov-19 18:40:40

i agree .i vote to leave and will do so again and again .etc..why should we pay billions into the eu trust ,and get nil in return..australia left britain .business were not down .they still trade with the eu. its a load of cobblers that we will go down hill and suffer..anything for another referendum .NO WAY .we leave..

Labaik Fri 08-Nov-19 18:27:36

Is that the Gisella Stuart that spearheaded the lies leave campaign and then did a runner?

newnanny Fri 08-Nov-19 17:53:39

Gisella Stewert is telling Labour voters if you want Brexit vote for Boris Johnson.

Two other ex Labour MP's are also instructing voters not to vote for JC as he is not fit to lead our country but to lend their votes to Boris.

Great when life long Labour voters and indeed even ex Labour MP's want to vote for Boris and to leave the EU. grin

Calendargirl Fri 08-Nov-19 17:49:48

No Varian, the majority of his constituents voted to LEAVE.

MaizieD Fri 08-Nov-19 17:48:34

What an odd argument when we're on our second General Election in two years. Johnson didn't like the hand he was dealt so he's asked for a redeal.. hmm

petra Fri 08-Nov-19 17:46:58

Varian
Your post @17.00 is a lie, and you know it. Do you think we're stupid. No, don't answer that, we know what you think.

NanKate Fri 08-Nov-19 17:42:34

Looking fwd to hearing newnanny what they say.

Whatever party wins the Election what would they say before they started work if the the people said. Can we have another Election as we don’t like the result ? This is exactly what a second referendum would do.

newnanny Fri 08-Nov-19 17:30:07

I am waiting for the Labour ones to knock on my door so they can explain to me why in 2017 they said they respected the referendum vote to leave the EU but then voted against every deal offered and also voted against no deal. Why they want to renegotiate a deal with EU and then hold another referendum and campaign against their own deal and how they can possibly think that the offer of Remain or Leave but remain in CU and remain in SM can possibly be classed as Leave. If and when they explain to me I will report back.

Firecracker123 Fri 08-Nov-19 17:27:04

Let's hope he loses his deposit.

newnanny Fri 08-Nov-19 17:23:36

Well done NanKate, I imagine there are a lot of people in your constituency who feel the same as you. He campaigned on leaving the EU and then did all he could to make us stay in. I have now seen he has said if he is not re-elected this time he will not stand again. Let us hope he is unsuccessful and you get an MP who sticks to his word to get us out of EU.

Firecracker123 Fri 08-Nov-19 17:23:00

Beaconsfield voted to Leave the EU.

jura2 Fri 08-Nov-19 17:07:32

He asked for funds for his campaign and was inundated with donations from people like me- who believes his behaviour throughout has been exceptional, honest and honourable. He has returned to followers today to thanks them and say to stop donating as he has ample funds for the campaign.

He was interviewed the other day, in perfect French, on Swiss TV. Great respect for this great man.

varian Fri 08-Nov-19 17:00:55

Dominic Grieve has always said he believed we should Remain din the EU, and the majority of his constituents voted the same way.

NanKate Fri 08-Nov-19 15:44:56

Thank you Calendargirl. ?

If DG had been honest from the beginning and said he was a Remainer I would have respected him, but saying one thing and doing another is plain dishonest.

If I make a promise I keep to it.
