I would just like one thread for brexiters only please.

I voted leave. I would vote leave again and again and again. There has been nothing to change my mind. I have been hardened by the views of remainers.

I would really like to talk to other brexit minded posters.
Thanks.

Nice idea aprilrose but.....

Am still hopeful this week, the deal could be accepted ?
Chilled champagne all round then.

GabriellaG54 Sun 20-Oct-19 19:06:31

If my being childish gets you off certain threads, I must do it more often.
Bye bye. grin

Urmstongran Sun 20-Oct-19 19:05:31

Eloethan a thread on which everyone agreed would be pointless since there would be nothing to discuss

Who said we wanted to ‘discuss’? aprilrose just thought a thread for Brexiteers to post their thoughts would be a nice idea. What’s wrong with that eh?

Debate on Brexit has gone on for SO long. This was to be a different type of thread. But oh no ....

GabriellaG54 Sun 20-Oct-19 19:03:39

about a thread

growstuff Sun 20-Oct-19 19:02:41

Having just read Gabriella's post, I think I've just read one of the most childish posts I've ever seen on Gransnet. Intelligent people grow out of silly name calling.

No wonder the country's in such a bloody mess, when people who spout this nonsense hold the rest of us to ransom.

I'll leave you to your trolls' day trip. Enjoy!

GabriellaG54 Sun 20-Oct-19 19:01:25

Dinahmo
Why would you want to read a thread the subject of which is of no interest to you?
To disrupt?
Protest?
Make disparaging/nasty remarks?
Would you do that in a thread about a thread for people suffering cancer or one solely for anyone suffering abuse or having children with mental health issues?

Labaik Sun 20-Oct-19 19:01:08

A request; can we please let the leave voters only post on this thread as I want to read what they have to say [I promise I'll keep quiet from now on...].

aprilrose Sun 20-Oct-19 19:00:41

I was not thinking on a global level Labaik. As Gabriella has pointed out in her lovely post, some people in government have got it and they have been thinking in terms of the big picture.

My comment was more about the mall individual picture. The more homely joys and what we can each to to make that difference for ourselves and our families in little things.

Well good luck GG with BJ, Gove, Priti and co plus (if he can weasel his way back in) your hero Farage.
Pleased I won't have to be party to that scenario.
Now I must opt out until a time comes when I might be engulfed in a sea of brexit positivity (but I believe that might take some time).

BlueBelle Sun 20-Oct-19 18:58:02

Methinks the lady protests too much
Ohhh Im So happy about this country being killed and shedded and torn to bits let’s all clap in the English way clap clap clap

Dinahmo Sun 20-Oct-19 18:57:56

Oh dear. I've just read the comments on page 2 and so want to comment but am refraining. Unicorns comes to mind. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Urmstongran Sun 20-Oct-19 18:57:50

This thread won’t stay for us Brexiteers aprilrose I can sense the Remainers scrambling for ‘evidence’ and typing furiously already!

Ps and they have!

Labaik Sun 20-Oct-19 18:55:20

'One way is to just start to think about what happens in the days to come if we are successful at last and we leave the EU'. But surely, if you all knew what you were voting for you would know already what was going to happen after we leave the EU. I mean, no one would vote for total uncertainty, would they confused?

GabriellaG54 Sun 20-Oct-19 18:54:30

Oops! Randall bring in agreement ?
I've no idea how that happened.

Dinahmo Sun 20-Oct-19 18:54:02

Aprilrose You could still discuss Brexit among yourselves by just ignoring the Remainer posts. After all I think that most Leavers recognise the Remainers names. please feel free to go ahead and tell each other why it's going to be so wonderful. Pretend we're not here and that we're not eavesdropping.

GabriellaG54 Sun 20-Oct-19 18:51:14

I'm all for leaving.
It was like being in the KGB (now FSB)
Borrowing a lyric from Hotel California, 'You can check out any time you like but you can never leave'.
The EU had the final say on so many things and Macaroon, his predecessors and Murky were and are a united front.
Where once we had a strong voice, it became a pleading whisper and they who must be obeyed ruled the roost.
Sure...they made some concessions which didn't impact their grip but I prefer to see a Phoenix rise from the flames rather than the status quo ad infinitum.
I would rather make my own choices than have the whole town telling me that I can't do this or that, to use an analogy.
Rather do business on my terms than the community of 27 other countries all having a say Randall bring in agreement.
It's much healthier to be independent and have a cordial relationship with others for business, not having to refer to the latest diktats from across La Manche.
Barnier, Junker, Macron and Merkel have had too many column inches over the years.
I look forward to us building a new future based on our own needs.
We're a small country and I think Priti Patel has it spot on when she proposes a points system for immigration similar to that used by the government in Australia.
So much to look forward to.
I'm excited.

we all like to talk to those with whom we agree. Talking constantly to those who disagree becomes negative and depleting. This is about being positive. I have gained one positive thing this evening. I now know there are others here who share my view and feelings. Thats good. often when surrounded by the beying hounds it is hard to feel anything except totally alone.

I do not mind that such people do not break cover and join debate often. Its just to know they are there.

aprilrose Sun 20-Oct-19 18:48:15

There is plenty to discuss Eloethan. How we might move forward for one. Up until now we have been stuck rehearsing the same arguments that have been made for three years. No movement has been made.

There is a future out there. We need to explore it. One way is to just start to think about what happens in the days to come if we are successful at last and we leave the EU.

Of course there are many iffs and maybes at the moment but we need plans for the future.

My first is to have the long awaited party. Then I will go to work . I might put up a big poster on the wall somewhere with some relevant comment about democracy. I have my own room and my own wall for this to go on and it is allowed where I work.

BlueBelle Sun 20-Oct-19 18:46:03

No wonder the country is split in half
Don’t you dare come on my territory !
How daft a group all agreeing with one another You pat my back and I ll pat yours anyone else can keep out of this exclusive club ???

Eloethan Sun 20-Oct-19 18:39:44

It is, of course, provocative to say that only those with a particular view should comment on a thread. No doubt that was the objective because a thread on which everyone agreed would be pointless since there would be nothing to discuss.

trisher Sun 20-Oct-19 18:39:12

Leavers have apparently voted leave because it made them happy when they voted and on the next day. Would it be very wrong for me to point out that there are drugs which give the same sensation and leave the rest of us in peace?
I also think that if they need a thread to themselves some of them must be feeling very sensitive.

aprilrose Sun 20-Oct-19 18:36:09

No suziewoozie you are not asking for the majority. You are trying to goad. It wont work.

aprilrose Sun 20-Oct-19 18:35:00

It isnt over till the fat one sings. Boris is big enough. If he is in a ditch dying, I will have sympathy for him. Then we will need a General Election to show what we really think. I have my MP's number booked and I will vote. The one thing you can count on me for. I will exercise my democratic rights.

suziewoozie Sun 20-Oct-19 18:32:28

Well come on april examples please.

suziewoozie Sun 20-Oct-19 18:31:33

But april why will you be happy? How will your everyday life change on 1 November? How will the UK be a better place? Asking for the majority of the population btw
