We should all be deeply ashamed by this

There is no justification for it. I can't help wondering if that is a deliberately provocative headline, as so many are, and probably taken out of context.

Well, I have no intention of feeling deeply ashamed. It is not my opinion. I shall let those who made that answer feel ashamed of themselves. (whoever they are - and I certainly don't believe that they are a majority of the electorate)

I shall have a look at the source of this "revelation" and see
1) Who did the survey, and what are their qualifications and statistical experience?
2) How many people did they as?
3) Where did they find the people they asked?
4) How were the questions asked?
5) Who wrote the Guardian article and what is their history in statistics and survey analysis?

They didn't ask me. I don't suppose they asked anyone else on GN either. I wonder just who they did ask?

I haven't looked at the article but just read the headline and cannot think that is true.

I know of no-one who condones violence whatsoever, however they vote.
