Just that really.

Gina Miller will be advising the best way and who to vote for.

I’ll post it as it comes into notice.

Here you are. If you want to consider whether or not to vote tactically

growstuff If the greens had some money behind them and came up with some workable policies I would definitely consider voting for them as our local Green Candidate is really nice, but doesn't stand a snowballs in hell chance of ever getting elected.

Gina Miller cares about the law, which ultimately protects the man (and woman) on the street. Cummings couldn't give a monkeys about anyone or anything except his own ego.

growstuff Wed 30-Oct-19 09:45:04

Callistemon The problem is actually because the opposition parties here can't agree amongst themselves. There's a history of disagreement. The Greens need some charismatic campaigning and people - and some serious money. Things are changing, though.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 30-Oct-19 09:42:27

I would never vote tactically, I vote on what is best for my local area.

Gina Miller is gathering her little herd of sheep to "gerrymander" the electorate. She doesn't give a thought to the man in the street, just what she wants.

I put her in the same category as Cummings and Campbell in as much as they are unelected but intent on pushing their own agenda. (Fortunately Cummings is allegedly departing at the end of this month)

Our MP is, and always has been a Brexiteer, so he will get our vote! DH has just emailed him to wish him luck and assure him of our support.
Gina Miller? I don't think so! I agree with you Lemon! ??

growstuff Wed 30-Oct-19 09:40:46

I've thought about lemongrove but the optimist in me takes over and I'll vote for the person with the best chance of toppling the useless sitting MP.

The Conservative Party, which used to hold nearly all seats on the local council, was absolutely wiped out in the last local election, so maybe miracles do happen.

Callistemon Wed 30-Oct-19 09:39:23

That's why your Green party candidate will never get in.
If everyone saying 'I would vote for for her but she'll never get elected' did actually vote for her then she might stand a chance!

The same with our Lib Dem candidate.
Lib Dems always do well in local elections though.

I have no idea who to vote for. I cannot vote Tory, I don’t agree with Jo Swinson and I won’t vote Labour. Let’s hope there is another candidate I can trust!

We have reached a tipping point in this country, a time when the line between right & wrong, Justice & injustice has never been so starkly drawn. We all now have to pick a side, it really is that simple. I choose right over wrong, I choose Labour

lemongrove Wed 30-Oct-19 09:33:33

If it’s a vain hope in your constituency, .......vote for your green friend if you believe in her.

crystaltipps Wed 30-Oct-19 09:32:51

The only way of getting a clear single issue vote is another referendum, so you can’t pretend a GE is all about Brexit. May tried that one and look where it got her. If I live in a remain area and my MP is a remainer I might vote for him/ her. I’d prefer Greens but they haven’t a hope.

growstuff Wed 30-Oct-19 09:32:20

Loads of people are sheep - I've met quite a few of them!

lemongrove Wed 30-Oct-19 09:31:58

Is that you or Gina Miller speaking??

growstuff Wed 30-Oct-19 09:31:00

As it happens lemongrove, the Green candidate in my constituency is a personal friend and I agree almost 100% with her values. She'd make a fantastic constituency MP, but she doesn't stand a hope in hell of ever being elected. She feels blessed if she doesn't lose her deposit when she stands. Voting for her is no more than a token vote.

I will vote for the person (or party) most likely to topple our totally useless Tory MP - unfortunately, it's a bit of a vain hope. That's what real life politics in a FPTP system has to be all about.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 30-Oct-19 09:29:44

Reasons to vote tactically.

14m in poverty
4m kids in poverty
726 homeless deaths in 2018
Record 1.6m food bank parcels
Food banks in schools
NHS/social care in meltdown
130000 deaths through austerity
Handing the NHS to Trump

This can’t go on. Vote tactically and get the Tories out.

lemongrove Wed 30-Oct-19 09:28:51

High time that Gina Miller accepted the inevitable!

craftyone Wed 30-Oct-19 09:27:40

I have already looked up online to see how my mp voted on every issue, not just leaving. Overall I have to say that I am pleased with perfprmance, the only issue I don`t agree with is the vote on high speed rail but I can live with that. He is getting my vote again. Who on earth in their right mind would be a sheep?

Callistemon Wed 30-Oct-19 09:22:28

Sank right down in the results, not polls!

I need more tea.

Callistemon Wed 30-Oct-19 09:21:31

I live in a constituency which voted remain narrowly, but our Conservative MP supports leave.
Last time I voted Lib Dem and they normally do quite reasonably here but have never been elected (it has veered from Conservative to Labour and back again).
The Lib Dem candidate, although well-known, sank right down in the polls last time.

Work that one out, Gina, and let me know what to do!

Don't just vote on one issue.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 30-Oct-19 09:21:01

Duh!! You would be a bit thick not to know that lemon

The most important thing is to keep the Tory out of office for many, many, many reasons, which will become obvious as the election progresses

lemongrove Wed 30-Oct-19 09:14:43

Well, it certainly looks that way WWM2 since you put your faith in her.
You do realise that all she wants is the Party who wants to stop Brexit....(the Lib Dems) to do well? She isn’t interested in the LP.Not at all.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 30-Oct-19 09:14:28

If you have a good constituency MP, who cares about the area, fights for local causes and local people would you vote tactically?

You could end up with a "bussed in" candidate with no local knowledge or empathy with the area?

I may be synical, but really are there that many "altruistic" voters out there?

EllanVannin Wed 30-Oct-19 09:12:14

Well, Angela Eagle has tried her best over the years to convert me so this time, for the first time ever in my life, I'll be supporting her-----she'll be pleased to know. smile
No doubt she'll give me a knock nearer the time. No Con MP ever bothered !!
