...decided I had to do more about the self-ID and sex/ gender issue than just post on GN.

First - I sent an email complaining to my local health authority. They have set up on online group to survey for opinions on local health services. Very commendable. I decided to join - they wanted my age group, ethnicity, so far so good and them my gender? WTF. I’ve just explained to them the difference between sex and gender and why it matters in terms of feedback on health care issues. I await their response

Second I went into Marks and Spencer and asked to speak to the Manager. I explained to him why I objected to their policy of women’s changing rooms being open to anyone who self ids as a woman. He tried the Equalities Act defence ( this is used by people who think gender is a protected characteristic when it’s actually gender reassignment. He also knew zilch of the exceptions that can be made to enable single sex provision). He also said women could have beards ????? He said that as a member of the LGBTQ etc community he found my views highly offensive. Oh dear that didn’t go well. Anyway the upside was that a local independent shop got my custom for the gift I was going to buy in M and S.
