I can’t ever remember a time when so much negativity, scandal and down right lies emanated from a political party.

Those who are not Tory supporters are absolutely spoiled for choice it is becoming embarrassing.

These threads could be heaving with negative information.

lemongrove Tue 05-Nov-19 12:19:08

Rufus you can mention my thread anytime you like?I shall look forward to seeing your dancing thongs.

Ellan it didn’t seem like a joke ( about the new Speaker ) more a criticism of his name.

Gonegirl Tue 05-Nov-19 12:17:06

Oh leave EV alone! hmm It was a simple enough remark.

janeainsworth Tue 05-Nov-19 12:15:06

ellan would it have bothered you if Hilary Benn had been elected Speaker?

Rufus2 Tue 05-Nov-19 11:59:30

I wrote " ouch " at the end of my post. It never fails !!
Ellen; They do say great minds think alike! winkI've just posted a message to Lemongrove (am I allowed to mention another thread?) before I read yours, also ending with "ouch!", only mine was concerned with me treading on toes at the forthcoming Christmas Ball in my dancing thongs. I wouldn't be game to walk on eggshells in them; it's not the thongs as such , but the weight they'll be carrying especially after all that Christmas Fayre! grin
Sorry for intruding and apologies to all the strait-lacers! sad

ug you do understand that the apples are the Tories,?

Urmstongran Tue 05-Nov-19 11:56:55

‘spoiled for choice’ maybe WWmk2 but beware ... some of the shiniest apples have a worm inside!

?? ?

grapefruitpip Tue 05-Nov-19 11:42:45

utter utter despair

Whitewavemark2 Tue 05-Nov-19 11:38:59

maddy the answer is in your hands don’t read them - simples?

But you will be disappointed I am afraid.

The is so much wrong with this rabble of a government I could fill 10 volumes.

AllTheLs Tue 05-Nov-19 11:30:54

I don't care a jot what the new Speaker's name is. Just as long as he isn't as biased as the last one......

maddyone Tue 05-Nov-19 11:26:29

Whitewave, we all know how you’re going to vote and what you think of Boris. Do you need to start an ‘I don’t like Boris’ thread every day? You won’t change anyone’s mind, because all the Boris haters agree with you. The others will make their own minds up one way or the other.

maddyone Tue 05-Nov-19 11:23:56

Ellen, did you get out of bed on the wrong side this morning? You seem rather cross today.

Callistemon Tue 05-Nov-19 10:46:22

It was becoming more about Bercow at times, he did enjoy being centre stage.

I look forward to the change and think Lindsay should make a good Speaker.

MaizieD Tue 05-Nov-19 10:15:23

I don't think the new speaker is there 'for a little while', Gonegirl. He will stand unopposed in his constituency and will be in place in the new Parliament.

EllanVannin Tue 05-Nov-19 09:59:50

Lemongrove is renowned for having a go ! First in the queue if a wrong word is said. Which is why I wrote " ouch " at the end of my post. It never fails !!

EllanVannin Tue 05-Nov-19 09:57:01

I have a female Lesley in the family and some get her name wrong but nobody kicks off, we laugh about it----unlike the po-faced individuals here !

Callistemon Tue 05-Nov-19 09:57:00

Oh, is he boring?

Perhaps we need boring and sensible rather than a sense of theatre
Bring them all back down to ground!

Gonegirl Tue 05-Nov-19 09:55:18

We have a very boring new speaker. Thank goodness it's only for a little while.

Bring back the little Hobbit I say. He had shed loads of personality.

EllanVannin Tue 05-Nov-19 09:55:01

It just makes me sick !! As if some are just waiting for someone to put a foot wrong to cause unnecessary angst. Perhaps that's what you enjoy ?
I don't work like that( which is a good job on here with all subjects ) and I' don't intend treading on egg-shells for anyone.

Callistemon Tue 05-Nov-19 09:53:19

I very rarely do that, EV, only usually if someone is bullying someone else on here.

In this case defending all the male Lindsays although I doubt they are reading this.

Callistemon Tue 05-Nov-19 09:49:55

Really EllanVannin??

Callistemon Tue 05-Nov-19 09:49:03

Not me!

I don't think that Sue is unisex with a slightly different spelling, though, for male or female.

John Wayne was Marion, usually spelt Marian for a female but not always.

Evelyn is unisex and spelt the same.

How many of you had a go years ago at Johnny Cash with his " A boy named Sue ?"

Callistemon Tue 05-Nov-19 09:41:51

confused

What do you mean EV?

EllanVannin Tue 05-Nov-19 09:40:14

For goodness sake, can't you help yourselves ??
