Well yes, it was a bit of a tactless thing to say, but he does have a point about it being common sense to leave a burning building. Didn't we all think about what we would have done in those circumstances, and then come to the conclusion that we would have left, sharpish?
He has apologised, but of course he was correct.
More lives would have been saved if residents had left immediately. The fire service admitted that, didn't they?
Of course some people just love any chance to have a go at JRM.
