Well anyone who thinks it’s appropriate to use that phrase is a wanker

newnanny Thu 14-Nov-19 12:10:06

He did not use phrase in speech. He dropped it but don't let the facts get in the way of the gossip.

but always come back

Takes skill that does. And opportunity.

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 11:12:07

I'm saying no more Growstuff. You'll have to work it out for yourself. (NO pun intended)

Meaning wasn't what you suggest though.

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 11:10:46

Blimey Riverwalk, you're going back a few years!

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 11:09:50

No the phrase got deleted

Shame. Suppose it would have lost votes amongst the small-minded though.

growstuff Thu 14-Nov-19 10:50:37

I'll take your word for it Gonegirl. I'm still not sure what you mean. Are you suggesting that suziewoozie looks up smutty words or something? If she does, she's obviously in exalted company.

Riverwalk Thu 14-Nov-19 10:39:11

One of the reasons I am not too keen on Gransnet.

Oh, come off it GG you keep 'effin off GN yerself, admittedly forced at times, but always come back. I'd say you're very keen grin

Lady the fact that others may not be fit to be PM does not obviate the fact that BJ is the PM at the moment and thought using onanism in a speech was remotely acceptable ( even at draft stage)

suziewoozie Thu 14-Nov-19 10:29:15

Oh snow in JRM’s constituency - quick call a COBRA meeting

suziewoozie Thu 14-Nov-19 10:27:53

Call there are seven days in a week - he’s campaigning there every day? Wow. Other national figures are campaigning throughout the country ( from all major parties) whilst having to visit their own constituencies as well. He’s Leader of the House and a member of the cabinet. Is that really the best excuse you can come up with for his disappearance from the national stage? Or is it that he’s basically an electoral liability? ?

ladymuck Thu 14-Nov-19 10:20:51

Iam64, this man may not be fit to be Prime Minister, but then neither are any of the other candidates! This is the dilemma we voters find ourselves in.

Callistemon Thu 14-Nov-19 10:14:36

Jacob R-M has been campaigning in his constituency, suziewoozie

No doubt London-centric voters will think he's disappeared off the scene as nowhere outside London exists, but he's in soggy Somerset. Actually, a friend posted a picture of snow this morning on FB shock

suziewoozie Thu 14-Nov-19 10:08:18

Love the fact that he feels it necessary to flaunt his ‘classical’ education shows how deeply flawed he is. A truly clever person is able to communicate without recourse to such verbal showing off. JRM does the same as BJ. Speaking of the former - has anyone seen him since his Grenfell comments? Perhaps they’ve locked him up somewhere?

suziewoozie Thu 14-Nov-19 10:03:22

No the phrase got deleted. Not that that changes the fact that someone was puerile enough to use it in the first place. Or change the fact that No 10 deliberately leaked the draft to Sky News.

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 09:56:51

Has he made this speech yet? Did it get included?

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 09:56:10

What did you mean Gonegirl when you claimed *suziewoozie" would already know what the word means? Be brave! Come out with it!

You are joking! I'm not daft.

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 09:55:07

Well GG this morning I was a prim old lady. Which is it

As previous post.

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 09:54:10

suziewoozie Do please share this elixir of rejuvenation you seem to have discovered

I didn't include SW in the little old ladies thing! I think of her as being about 50, hopped over from MN, and don't know if she's got grandkids or not.

hmm

Lovetopaint037 Thu 14-Nov-19 09:40:09

Well it just shows yet again how his mind works. Also, he loves to display his lexicon of the more obscure phrases or words. He studied the classics so that is what he has to offer.

MaizieD Thu 14-Nov-19 09:34:00

Love Dorothy Parker, such a witty woman.

I thought that Onan was criticised for spilling his seed on the ground, not the method by which he achieved that (which could be either of those cited in this thread)

growstuff Thu 14-Nov-19 09:15:43

The truth about David Kelly is more difficult to prove than undeniable proof that somebody has called people childish names or told deliberate lies, especially if they've been recorded.

grapefruitpip Thu 14-Nov-19 08:37:21

that'll be a no then.

Yehbutnobut Thu 14-Nov-19 08:33:16

Good heavens. It is unbelievable how committed Tories will defend even this. Have you no scruples?

Pantglas2 Thu 14-Nov-19 06:31:11

Good luck with that amagran- I’m still waiting on the truth about David Kelly!

Amagran Wed 13-Nov-19 23:30:45

My boredom threshold is higher than you imagine, Pantglas2. I think it is important to remember all the gaffes, lies, failures and incidents of pompous and boorish behaviour from our politicians. We know we cannot rely on their promises, so when it comes to the election we can look back at all their negative and positive characteristics and behaviours and vote accordingly.

I have no intention of forgetting that this government is trying to suppress a report which will show that the referendum was interfered with by Johnson's, and Cummings' Russian friends.
