Young people hardly bothered to vote then,

So like the sort of thing your own Dear Leader would say LG. You do know it's not true don't you.

No, I don't, but if you don't mix with anybody who wants a second referendum, you don't mix with a representative cross section of the public.

GracesGranMK3 Mon 25-Nov-19 10:02:55

Or once Brexit is "Boris Done" we spend the next ten years getting Brexit done.

Oopsminty Mon 25-Nov-19 09:56:05

You have no idea who I mix with, growstuff.

growstuff Mon 25-Nov-19 09:54:51

You obviously don't mix with a representative group of people of all backgrounds Oopsminty. Yes, it is anecdotal.

Oopsminty Mon 25-Nov-19 09:48:43

I don't know anyone who wants to 'check' that we still want to leave.

I mix with people of all backgrounds/ages.

As soon as Brexit is mentioned you get the eye roll.

The thought of another referendum is not being welcomed by the man/woman on the street.

I know many Remainers who intend to vote for Boris as they can't cope with the thought of more nonsense.

Of course this is anecdotal and I'm sure that many Remainers on here have the opposite experiences.

But Brexit just isn't filling people's minds as much as it seems to on here

The ones who voted three years ago NotS are the ones who want to get on with it.
Young people hardly bothered to vote then, so cannot take what they say seriously.
It is not reasonable to have another referendum to try and overturn the original referendum, nor is it democratic.

I’m with Boris! No surprise there.

lemongrove - whilst I do think the Tories will win (as the remain vote is split), I think you're wrong in that most people don't actually want to just get out. I hear young people all the time on the radio for example and many seem to want to remain.

What many reasonable people want is to check if we DO still want to leave or not before it's too late.

I don't want to leave but am happy to do so if I'm genuinely in a minority. If we had already left (when I WAS in a minority) that would have been different.

Well he keeps repeating it because it makes absolute sense.

Until Brexit is done nothing else is being done.

ladymuck Mon 25-Nov-19 09:33:19

If and when Brexit ever does get done, will that be the end of it, or will the remainers then start a campaign to get us back in?
This is an issue that will never be resolved, as there will always be those who disagree, whatever happens.

lemongrove Mon 25-Nov-19 09:26:46

Oh I expect Remainers will agree and Leavers disagree.?

You may be sick of hearing it, but remember that most of the country does want to get on with it, even the people I know who voted Remain say ‘get on with it’ and you have only to turn on your tv to hear the same.

I think he’s been told to keep his mouth buttoned so he can’t make anymore gaffs. Of course, if he says the same thing often enough there’s a chance that he will be believed. Goebbels law ...

Is it just me who feels almost sick every time Johnson spouts this trite little phrase (it's as puerile as his oven-ready chicken deal c**p.

My replacement for it would be:

Once Brexit is done
Britain is done!
