Unfortunately someone pressed Varian's Brexit button. Now let's get back to the discussion.
"It’s looking like Brexit’s gonna happen. Time to get used to it people."
This comes from a poster who told us brexit would happen in March. and in April and in October.
She was wrong three times so lets all hope she is wrong again.
Wherever you vote on 12th December, please, please vote to STOP BREXIT.
To Dinahmo, Not sure what you are even complaining about in regard of your "Chelsea Tractors" Maybe I do not speak the lingo of Brixton where apparently you used to live. I went to a super open day on an invite from The Prison Reform Trust which I donate to it was held when Juliet Lyon was in charge of that charity what an amazing woman, the open day was held in Brixton Prison.
I for one did not complain about immigrants in U.K. quite the reverse my point was the country is overcrowded and if you can not see that then get back to a N.H.S. doctor and get yourself looked over.
As for the U.K being a mongrel nation the only term for mongrel is for the pets we owned back in the sixties which were our dogs or have you changed the thread of the conversations to animal breeds? I was brought up in a working class family my late father worked from the time he was 15 years old they do not make them like that anymore.
We could not afford pedigree dogs so my father always brought us "mongrels" so I do not consider myself a mongrel but as you made the remark are you a bit of a mongrel?
There is a real danger, made clear today by Trump's rushed departure from Nato summit - that we will end up alienating and breaking from all our closest allies and partners - and at the same time - being in a very very weak position with the USA - with a begging bowl. Does not look good - at all. Alarm bells ringing very loudly- louder than ever.
It’s looking like Brexit’s gonna happen. Time to get used to it people.
We are a rich first world country but heading towards third world disparity between rich and poor.
Unless we can stop brexit, the rich, especially the billionaire tax exiles who support the Tory Party, will get richer and everyone else will get poorer.
The middle classes who voted Tory may not notice it immediately, but the poor, including those who were fooled into voting leave in 2016, will notice it pretty quickly.
I just wonder how long it might take for them to finally realise they were fooled?
It's only really if it gets cut and dried and mixed up with hay that it's a problem for horses and cattle.
As someone who makes hay from my field for my horses, the people who own the adjoining fields and don't control their prolific ragwort, which has wind dispersed seeds, are something of a problem for me. It kills horses if eaten.
Started to read all of the posts on here - but have had to dip out. Beyone angry and horrified and the sheer amount of self satisfied, ignorant vitriol spouted by people on here.
While I'm on the subject:
We are voting for policies and manifestos - not leaders. Leaders fereqeusntly change
Please God do not rely on the media to get your information - it have been proved to be twisted and unrealiable with relentless unfounded smear campaigns. Research, look further then the end of your own nose.
What is important to you? The NHS, Education, Homelessness/Poverty/Crime/immigration. Or do you just want to stay in your little bubbles and not change anything because it is too scary.
I despair!
Anyone can make a biased programme to suit any agenda.
I am not disputing we are a rich country. However, if we are rich why do we need to keep borrowing? To me that says we are living above our means. Spending more than what we have.

Did you see the dispatches programme the othernight? We are heading towards Victorian levels of poverty. Just because we aren't there (quite) yet, doesn't mean the levels we have are ok! That we shoudl be complacent about it.. I am ashamed when world charities are having to help people in this, a supposedly wealthy county. Deeply ashamed!
Ragwort's actually useful to quite a large number of species. It's only really if it gets cut and dried and mixed up with hay that it's a problem for horses and cattle.
Something needs to be done about ragwort, though.

With respect to weeds on verges, you do know, I suppose, that weeds are wildflowers and just what a large number of insect species need? Botanists are actually working quite hard to get people and councils to stop desecrating road verges when it's not necessary.
This is good thing, so you can cross that one off your list.

You need to get out a bit more Whitewave, stop watching C4 & BBC (both publicly funded companies with hidden agendas); read about what's happening in the rest of Europe, Asia, Africa, South America & Eastern Europe. Only then would you see how lucky we are in this country and why everyone wants to live here.....
The first week of the Tory election £5 million was given by 3 billionaires.
They are paying for the Tories to support their interests.
Maizie D, agree about Steve Bannon, and raise you Arron Banks. Would be good for the country if we could read the 'ready to go' Russian dossier before the 12th of December.
What is 'normal' for Labour? Not as far left as they are at the moment
I'm sorry, Maremia, but that means absolutely nothing at all. 'far left' is a totally subjective judgement.
What is more relevant is what exactly do 'Labour but don't like JC' people want for the country and how they think it's going to be achieved?
What is important for our country is that we have no idea who, or from where, the strings are being pulled.
Oh, come on. It's pretty obvious that the strings are being pulled by Russia (how many £millions have Russian oligarchs donated to the tory party recently? Why won't Johnson release the Select Committee report on Russian influence?) and the USA far right. Steve Bannon anyone? Quite a good mate of Johnson and Farage...
Hi Chewbacca and Maizie D, John McDonnell said he would go too, so hopefully someone like Keir Starmer or Yvette Cooper will come to the fore. What is 'normal' for Labour? Not as far left as they are at the moment. To be honest, I may not like the current Labour leaders, but at least I know who they are. Johnston is not in charge. That is obvious from his inability and reluctance to take part in interviews and discussion. We were promised a university educated, classically literate leader. We can now see him for the sham he has always been. What is important for our country is that we have no idea who, or from where, the strings are being pulled.
