Not how or why. I was just wondering what sort of percentage have sent in their now unchangeable votes. It's not mandatory to answer, I was just curious.

I have.

FlexibleFriend Sat 07-Dec-19 15:31:27

So have I.

Oldandverygrey Sat 07-Dec-19 15:33:04

No havnt voted yet, not sure I want to either.

janeainsworth Sat 07-Dec-19 15:45:32

I have.

janipat Sat 07-Dec-19 15:47:16

Yes, as soon as the voting papers arrived we filled them in and they were in the postbox within minutes.

Pittcity Sat 07-Dec-19 16:04:16

I have.

M0nica Sat 07-Dec-19 16:05:15

Actually delivered my vote directly to the Council offices. I am off to Germany in a day or two and will not be back until the election is done and dusted. Thank heavens.

Lovemybed Sat 07-Dec-19 16:28:51

Yes I voted too - knew I wouldn't be changing my mind.

yggdrasil Sat 07-Dec-19 16:33:07

I have. They send me a postal vote every time. And I want to make sure it gets back in time. I debated whether to vote tactically, but came to the conclusion it would make little difference which of the main 2 got in.

Charleygirl5 Sat 07-Dec-19 16:33:25

I have, I only have to post it and that will be tomorrow.

Urmstongran Sat 07-Dec-19 16:52:33

Not yet.
We fly home from Spain on 12th in the afternoon ... how fortuitous is that? When we booked the flights a GE wasn’t on the cards!

Westminster voting intention shows the Tories up to 43%, with Labour holding steady on 34%

The Lib Dems stay on 13%, the Brexit Party slump to 3% and the Greens trailing on 2%

I shan’t need to give this much thought !

GracesGranMK3 Sat 07-Dec-19 17:03:26

Who is reporting that Urmstongran? Just out of interest.

Back to the thread. I wonder what percentage of us have already voted?

Ilovecheese Sat 07-Dec-19 17:05:25

No, because we live closer to the polling station than the postbox

Pantglas2 Sat 07-Dec-19 17:08:25

Me too Ilovecheese! My problem is I don’t have a Green Party candidate!

dragonfly46 Sat 07-Dec-19 17:08:47

Yes we have voted

Newquay Sat 07-Dec-19 17:17:13

Yes we’ve voted already too. Churches Together in the town held a Hustings with 4candidates. One was clearly head and shoulders above the others so we’ve voted for her as we need a new good constituency MP despite the party she belongs to. Can never not vote-it cost a lot to get us the vote didn’t it?

varian Sat 07-Dec-19 18:01:53

I have voted by post. This time I did not attend a local hustings. After the first one at the other end of our constituency the Tory candidate (a useless ERG member who never did or said anything when he was our MP) then refused to attend subsequent hustings because hecklers had given him a hard time and so the hustings were cancelled.

janeainsworth Sat 07-Dec-19 18:18:35

That’s disgraceful Varian, that the hustings were cancelled I mean.
Surely a chairman should be capable of dealing with hecklers!

varian Sat 07-Dec-19 18:34:55

Apparently he was not, janeainsworth.

Although this is a constituency which was fortunate enough to have a LibDem MP from 1997-2015, and the LibDem candidate is the only serious challenger to the Tory, it seems that most of the hecklers were from the Labour Party and the Green Party and the Labour candidate, sitting on the platform joined in. Our local council is LibDem controlled with no Green or Labour councillors so I think they are feeling marginalised.

I was not there, but I gather from the LibDems who were that our candidate tried to calm things but the chairman was not effective in running the meeting and it got out of control.

The Tory candidate is therefore taking his lead from the practically invisible Jacob Rees Mogg and the (scared to face Andrew Neil) Boris Johnson and keeping his head down.

As you may have already guessed, my postal vote was for the Liberal Democrat candidate.

jura2 Sat 07-Dec-19 19:06:11

yes, by post 2 weeks ago. Tactically.

cornergran Sat 07-Dec-19 19:14:25

Yes. Last week.

Cherrytree59 Sat 07-Dec-19 19:17:14

Postal votes all xed and posted the same day we had received them via Royal Mail.

No tactical voting required.

QuaintIrene Sat 07-Dec-19 19:24:21

Yes I have. Voted independent, after checking that said candidate wasn’t BNP in a former life.
Labour will get in here, though as always.

FlyingSolo Sat 07-Dec-19 20:11:47

I posted mine yesterday.

Calendargirl Sat 07-Dec-19 20:47:50

Yes, by post about a week ago.
