I am not waiting up, it’s bringing back memories of 1983

Labaik Thu 12-Dec-19 22:21:16

The thing is, Lucky, Trump may well be gone, soon. Which just leaves us as the sick man of the world....

Tooting29 Thu 12-Dec-19 22:21:47

Mr John MacDonald is very downbeat on TV.

twiglet77 Thu 12-Dec-19 22:22:15

The United States could have had another Clinton. Think about that.

absthame Thu 12-Dec-19 22:22:39

Ahhh if we succeed in getting rid of Corbyn and the extreme interlopers including the antisemites. Johnson's life as PM should be no more than the maximum 5years. Where there is life it's light may yet shine bright.

Luckygirl Thu 12-Dec-19 22:22:54

How soon might we be able to impeach BJ if he gets in? I am sure there must be plenty of grounds!

Namsnanny Thu 12-Dec-19 22:23:39

Drum1234 .. Don't be so pessimistic, about the NHS!

Namsnanny Thu 12-Dec-19 22:26:15

Luckygirl ...I'm not very politically knowledgeable, but can a British PM actually be impeached?

Sorry just thick!!

GrannyGravy13 Thu 12-Dec-19 22:27:19

The £ is rising

Gonegirl Thu 12-Dec-19 22:27:46

Pound's shot up.

dragonfly46 Thu 12-Dec-19 22:28:13

I should be relieved - DH is going to leave the country if Corbyn gets in. I want to leave the country if BJ gets in but now there will be nowhere to go after a no deal Brexit ?

Firecracker123 Thu 12-Dec-19 22:28:38

Curlywhirly Thu 12-Dec-19 22:29:30

Think it is a foregone conclusion, can't see the exit polls being that far out. Oh my, I think we are going to be in for a very rocky ride. Just hope Boris keeps Trump at arms length, but I don't hold out much hope.

Gonegirl Thu 12-Dec-19 22:30:00

Don't be premature Firecracker! Don't want to jinx it. shock grin

Firecracker123 Thu 12-Dec-19 22:31:20

Dottynan Thu 12-Dec-19 22:32:16

The pound has soared with the news of a probable conservative government.

Namsnanny Thu 12-Dec-19 22:32:26

Welldragonfly46 … someone was going to have their bags backed in your house weren't they, whatever the outcome ? tchwink

Firecracker123 Thu 12-Dec-19 22:32:53

Let's hope we don't have another 5 years of people didn't know why they voted for Boris lol ?

Grandad1943 Thu 12-Dec-19 22:32:53

If the exit poll is anything like correct then I firmly believe that this will be the end of the Labour Party as it has been recognized for more than a hundred years.

It may well be that the broader Labour movement (which the Parliamentary Labour Party is a section of) will decide to "pull the plug" on its entire existing political strategy and form a new political identity from within its reenergized trade union movement.

Namsnanny Thu 12-Dec-19 22:34:52

I'm so glad it looks like a clear win (if and when confirmed).

Can you imagine the trouble if it was a near miss?

lemongrove Thu 12-Dec-19 22:38:40

Hooray!?
Projected landslide win for Conservatives of 86 majority.

Oh Jeremy Corbyn.....start writing your resignation speech.

Hope numbers stack up like the exit polls.????

Desdemona Thu 12-Dec-19 22:40:06

Presumably those who voted Tory have private healthcare.
