What now for Labour Party ?

This is what puzzles me.

We were constantly told that a second referendum would produce a remain majority weren’t we?

Why then did the Lib Dems do so badly in the election when they were promising to deliver on what the majority supposedly wanted ?

I am convinced that Brexit was by no means the main reason for the Tory’s success.

Corbyn’s idiotic promises fooled very few thankfully.

I bet all of the other ?27 EU countries are following the saga to learn from our mistakes (or not).

I asked a legitimate question about the election.

jennifereccles The main reason the Liberals failed to make progress, apart from some daft policies and a leader who failed to make much impression, was that the main battle was between two extremist parties, eached lead by a man with an appalling reputation for probity and who were each loathed by a large proportion of the electorate to an extent we have not met for a long time in British politics.

This meant that where the main fight in a constituency was between Labour and Conservative, most voters had one party and leader they would do anything to keep out, so they were not going to risk voting for any third party.

Move from those constituencies, to ones like mine and several other similar ones I know, where the Labour candidate, didn't stand a hope in hell of winning , here the Lib Dem vote increased by nearly 20% at the expense of the Conservatives.

Yes out of those meetings came the N Ireland Peace Process and the Good Friday agreement. But some would prefer to have strife.

I don't like Corbyn but, to be fair peace in Ireland was eventually only achieved by talking to the terrorists and it isn't anti sematic [imo] to be critical of the way Israel has treated the Palestinians [which was and still is appalling]. Johnson is now saying all sorts of nasty gung ho stuff about those poor people trying to get here on boats; a lady interviewed on tv just now said his talk of sending them all home is wrong and won't, in most cases, result in them being sent back. She also said it's not true that they get priority over homeless people in this country when it comes to being housed. Johnson is turning into Farage [imo] and cultivating the UKIP vote.
